Shutterstock.com / Re: When sales have totally tanked on SS
« on: July 18, 2017, 04:05 »
You are not alone ! ;) SS is very very quiet this month, Fotolia/adobe : totally dead, Getty/iStock :  I don't know (...) , just Dreamstime seems still alive and, some middle stocks like 123rf are even better than fotolia with far less images...

Adobe Stock / Re: Adobe?? deadly quiet!

Since I applied to Adobe , FT is close to 0 this month. Far under my low earners stocks. Plus, on one of my illustrations accepted everywhere , one of their Adobe "curator" found "blur" ... lol. May be he does not know what gaussian blur means .

i´ve got really  no idea - just read a topic here, that christmas images are already selling ?

so i have the question as someone who gots no idea.
When is the best time to upload what?
when is the time to upload christmas photos,
" new year photos
" easter photos
" winter photos
" spring photos.
etc. ? :S

It depends of the time of real availability of your photos on a site, but the trendiest keywords by month  can be (for example)  (I mean all keywords relative to...)
AUG : Halloween, Christmas, School, Business...
SEP : Christmas, Music, Business, Halloween ...
OCT : Christmas, Thanksgiving, Santa Claus...
NOV : Christmas Tree, new Year....
DEC : Christmas, fireworks,....

0 days don't bother me. what i bother is why for many months the large single sales between 30$ and 120$ suddenly disappear. sure the single sales still here but they are not 30$ to 120 $.
as another person here on leaf site said, it's ok for 0 days as long as the bottom line still get big enough at the end of the month payout.

but for many months now, the payout is bad compared to the many past years. and i can see on the right i am not the only one . 86% is bad for ss. time to tell the shareholders to stop fking around with ss.

I wonder if contributors at 0.25$ get more sales than those at 0.33, 0.36 or 0.38.
May be the shareholders have changed the search engine to optimize their gains...

No, it is not. You can be caught and thrown in jail. It is in your interest not to be thrown in jail. It is in your interest to live in a safe community. It is in your interest to pay taxes and support a police force in the community.

...

Sorry but I can't agree with that . In an ideal world may be, but in the real world there is a variable named "corruption". Corruption is every where. Economy, finance and politics are intertwined and can do exactly what they want when they want. In jail , you will find  mostly those who are not part of this system.
Sometimes a "fuse" is given to the media when the people need it and life goes on...

...
The freedom to pursue the self interest in a free market is the only mechanism that has ever provided a better life to the masses. Failure to understand this mechanism led only to disastrous experiments and widespread poverty.

...

If your own interest is to steal what created your neighbor, this statement may be debatable.
2007-08 financial collapse is a "good" example where greed didn't provide any better life to masses.
PS : I am not leftist.

The question  for me is  : when will be the next day with at least one sale...

Thats what happens when companies start behaving like financial institutions. We've seen similar examples in the past decades and we know how they end.

Yes. Companies stop to produce anything except excel spreadsheet. And they die.

SS far behind IS,DT,FT (and even DP) for me this month.

+10. nothing's changed. in the 80s, we had those experts coming in to tell the company how they can save by laying off mid management , replace them with the minimum wage assistance . hint, just get the mid-mgt ppl to make a job-description so give step-by-step instruction of their projects.
when that was done, a month later, all mid-mgt was laid-off and the company boasted stellar increase in profit. thanks to the experts. next thing we knew, the company closed down .

in the 90s, same thing. different companies, same expert sent in. they replaced the ppl who made the company . the same ppl who implemented the programs, the winning of the contracts of the stellar companies at that time . replaced them with numbers ppl . new boss comes in and called us "you people... instead of our names".
then, before we know it, they closed the headoffice and moved to some place where like it is now with india, etc.

the experts are still in business. only the corporations they advised from 80s , 90s, 2K...
are no longer in existence.

+20. I meet number of these "experts" in stupidities in my career. When they kill a company it is never because of making stupid decisions but only because you must adopt a "new" strategy. Unfortunately, its seems their strategy is never the good one at the right time.

Don't panic ! I'm contributor to many micro-stocks since 2006 and they all seems to have the same life cycle...
At the moment SS has a very fast review time with a 100% rejection result. Reviewers seems to be replaced by some automatic process and they need time to fix some bugs...
When your photos are accepted by few and rejected by one, it helps to feel less frustrated :)
