Thanks Sean - most reliable info on IS

I still can not find my IS pictures on Photos.com. Anybody else have an idea when that is supposed to happen?

The photographer should submit to microstock.  They'd teach him a thing or two!! :D

That's why I posted here  - exactly my thought.

Just check out the quality of editorial contents that is being used on one of Germany's most popular news websites. The sensor spots are a disgrace for any professional photographer. Unbelievable. It's not that the motive is in the middle of a desert with dust unavoidable - its NY with the ability to buy any sensor cleaning solution a couple of blocks away.

This is a microstock forum and the reviewers will go bananas about all the unreleased artwork and designer furniture in the house. Just make sure to shoot wide open so that nobody can recognize the eifel tower picture on the wall. Macro RM photography - fantastic location. Just my 0.02.

Thank you very much. So are the IS pictures going to be available through the PLUS side or the regular Photos.com. If the later, competition should be dramatically reduced.
#34
Anybody have an idea when the enabled IS pictures become searchable on photos.com? And on a related note. What is the difference between "Photos.com" and "Photos.com Plus" besides that the Plus has more pictures/

Thanks

I am keeping all my accounts empty but active - just in case.

I forgot if you can edit the keywords after acceptance in DT. In case you can, just delete all keywords, descriptions and titles or change them to something nonsensical and just become exclusive with IS. If the pictures can not be found on DT they are effectively not for sale anymore.

just my 1.5 cents

I usually have it sent to work. Just a thought.

I realize this is a little speculative (but not greatly so, given the current state of play), but I believe this is the reason why, in the not too distant future, 'models' will be computer generated and not real people at all. The advances in CG characters in cinema in the past five years have been pretty spectacular.

I don't know - this is where the Uncanny Valley theory kicks in.  I think real human models will continue to be the standard for the foreseeable future.

Awesome, the link contains a reference to the show I just finished watching 5min ago (30 Rock). How uncanny is that?

I had a few sales yesterday but my counter is still sitting at Monday's numbers.  As long as the $'s are there....

Yep, Tuesday morning is last files recorded in the stat section - $ are accumulating however - so as long as the counter catches up I will be fine.

Thanks for the clarification

If I am an exclusive IS photographer - am I automatically an exclusive videographer as well? There is a link on my homepage to apply for videographer exclusivity - so I am assuming that I am not exclusive yet. Right?

Canon / Re: 5D II "Life view" freezing up??
December 24, 2008, 15:53
It's much easier NOT to lift up when the camera is on a tripod. I think for normal hand-held photography I will continue to use the viewfinder but on a tripod nothing beats 10x magnification for critical focus. I guess the camera has to go back for exchange. Do you return it where you purchased it or should I deal with Canon directly?

Canon / 5D II "Life view" freezing up??
December 24, 2008, 02:22
To anybody who has actually put the 5D II through their paces I have the following question. Who has observed a freezing of the "live view" while trying to cycle through the "INFO" setting button? I have started to exclusively use the back LCD for framing, focus and exposure estimation (life Histogram). If I leave life view unattended for a short while (no exact figure??) the life picture freezes and no button can wake up the camera. Even switching the power switch OFF leaves the frozen life picture on the LCD. Only when I remove the battery does the camera shut down and start up fine when I switch it back on. i love the camera but I am afraid I need to return it for a new one. Bummer.

In fact when you convert from PAL to NTSC with proper tool you reduce noise and sharpen image also.

What is/are the proper tools for this step?

I did a quick search and had no luck at all finding rights-managed editorial footage.

If you choose the RM and RF collection you can select in the search field creative RM and/or editorial as a limit. So it's there and I asked for submission guidelines because my ideas are probably better suited for RM than for IS.
