I also had the same problem today with over 25 images rejected. Reasons- not focused, noise.  I doubled checked each one and these issues were not there.  I can't quite understand why so many rejections are happening now.  I have been doing this a long time and I know what makes a good marketable stock picture.  Mr. Rohn Engh (Late) was my mentor and friend for 30 years and he taught me.

I also agree about the uploading process. Today it is very slow and all the images are not registering where they should be.  Seems like someone in the"tech" dept could at least pick this up.  It has been like this for days and nothing has been done about it.

I am also having the same rejection problem.

I wrote "live" chat last night about that problem and was told to check my spam settings.  I did and nothing there.  Problems, problems problems we as microstock photographers have to deal with with so little income rewards.  What is this world coming to?

General Stock Discussion / Re: Canstock review time.

Some of the images that are sitting going on two months are self-portraits of me.  I don't have any trademarks on my body except being an african american man.

I have photos in pending going on two months.  Even the same problem with photos being reviewed (two months)  Why advertise shorter review times when this is not happening.  I have asked Mr. Duncan to talk to us --but to no avail--complete silence.

They really got me today.  All my images were rejected from my recent trip to Amsterdam--But have been all accepted on the top three other sites.  Reasons--Not in focus, composition, lighting, and white balance.  These images has been sold within the last two days 10+ times each.  I just don't understand what's going on.  Something is very strange and becoming almost a waste of time for me to continue to upload.

262
The same thing happened to me today ---all rejections.  I doubled checked images at 100% and all were just fine, and in focus--but were rejected for noise, focus, composition--all which were accepted and sold the same day on other sites.

My feeling are hurt.

Canstock uploading is broken again. You would think that we have all these smart people walking around who could use a job would be hired to clear this up in a "twinkle of an eye".

General Stock Discussion / Re: Dollar photo club

It is getting harder and harder to make money with mircostock these days. How did we as photographers let all these cuts make it acceptable to take our art work for granted?

Dreamstime.com / Re: Lack of Sales on DT for March
« on: April 07, 2014, 09:23 »
Something is very wrong for me.  I have not had a sale at DT for over a week. Do you think they are going out of business or getting ready to throw in the towel?

To: Stock-will-eat-itself:  You asked that I post my successful image.  Google-- Oscar Williams Smithsonian magazine.  I was the Ist Grand Prize winner in the Ist Smithsonian Contest.  The image is "Stairway To Heaven"  This photo has sold over 100,000 copies (still selling) and was shown in the Smithsonian Museum.  Thank You and you are welcome to copy it.

I think we are getting off the subject.  I was under the impression that we were talking about what kind of images (500-800) could make $3K a month--not about traveling and living day to day.  I want to see and hear more about downloads of images and what are the best sellers.  Thanks

I am having the same no problem----no sales in weeks.  Whereas I had sales almost every day.  i am only two dollars from a payout.

Kudos on your sale.  I hope I get one this month.

I really like the old way better.  We should at least have a choice to use the old way.  Well I guess I will stop uploading there because it is too much work for the prices we are getting for our images.

« on: January 21, 2014, 15:07 »
Today, I just had all 20+ images rejected for poor light, composition, and focus where all these images are money makers on other sites.  I guess 2014 won't be such a new beginning as I had planned.   Fellow photographers what's happening here?

Shutterstock.com / Re: Whole batch random rejection, twice.
« on: January 14, 2014, 10:02 »
This morning I had a whole batch (30) rejected for poor lighting, composition--All were made in a professional studio with "killer" lights.  I will stop uploading for a while because I am getting frustrated (myself) and reading how it is happening to other stock photographers,  I just don't know what to do anymore.  I really love the site.--Any suggestions?

Thanks--Oscar

Adobe Stock / Re: Is Fotolia dying? Or what happens?
« on: October 29, 2013, 21:46 »
Fotolia was a great microstock site 5 years ago, and now the photographers are not worthy of their company.  I can't understand how it is in the top tier when so many photographers are unhappy with the commission, cuts, and rejections.  It's like being married to a person who beats the s----- out of you and that person thinks he can treat everyone the same.  Not a good relationship to be in.  But, after a while the person who is beaten down wakes up and take everything with him/her.  (Portfolio)

I wrote support and asked Duncan about this situation and he said "Be Patient", we know about it and we are working on it.  I hope so soon because it is dreadful.

275
O.K.  Enough!  Let's concentrate on getting some traffic and sales on YAY so we as photographers can feel good about our uploading efforts.
