I used to work for a company that made very high end technical equipment. When I started we had an office in Australia with about 10 people in it. The manager of that office came to HQ for meetings and I took him to dinner. Don't know why he told me this, but according to him the Australian office was originally an independent distributor that he purchased with the idea that he could sell off the inventory in Australia at bargain basement prices, shut down the operation, fire the staff and still come out ahead. In other words pull an H&F. Turned out he was wrong. He could not even come close to breaking even, so he sold the company to my company and then became an employee. He was stuck managing the vary people he had planned to fire and hated it. At least in this case the predator got screwed.

So what's the point of edstock2? Why have two accounts not one?
And as far as broken promises, it'd be easier to list the ones they've kept, on the other hand the weasel words of "...there is no plan..." are the alert that they reserve the right to do whatever they want at any time. We have only ourselves to blame if we choose to believe anything said by a demonstrated snake oil salesman. They can't be trusted to do much except screw up every software release or new feature
My conspiracy theories on "The point of edstock2"
1) The site code probably can't handle a single contributor having more than 90,000 images without crashing 2) There must be a limit to how many photos a single contributor can have upfront on any single search. spreading them across multiple accounts means they can provide the customers with even more horrible photos and push indies even futher backwards.
--------------------------- Both sound entirely reasonable to me.

www.imagedirekt.de went live the last days, we are Veer partner
--------------------------------------------- Thanks for introducing your company. This kind of information and transparency about partners is not often found in microstock and your willingness to share it with us is greatly appreciated. I will update the partner list shortly with Imagedirekt's information.

Added two new Fotolia partners, one of which they announced in their December newsletter. A little transparency from Fotolia?

Just realized that in October, November, and December, I've had one review per month about 30 days apart, regardless of when I uploaded the images. Are they on a monthly review schedule per contributor rather then on a first uploaded first reviewed schedule?

Istock have revised their targets downwards. Felicitations to those who will benefit.
Here, let me help you with the link
----------------------------------------- All the people in the thread thanking Istock for its generosity makes me ill. It was Istock's decisions that put these folks percentage at risk, so Istock does not deserve any praise for the change. Note who announced this news? "iStockHQ"! Guess nobody there has the guts to put their name out there and take responsibility for the RC system and the grief they will get about it.

Reminds me of gerrymandered congressional districts drawn in weird and whacky shapes to suit those in power.
Well obviously it is 'gerrymandered' in that the system is precisely designed to produce the outcome that they want. If things change then they simply adjust the targets to suit __ or maybe not, but always in their favour anyway. Heads Istock wins, tails you lose.
------------------------------------------------------- So true. Why else would they be adjusting the 40% targets for illustration and flash but not for the other percentages?

The freedom to take pictures in a public space is probably the right most under assault today in western society. If governments or private security can take away that right we are all worse off. Think of those people being pepper sprayed in California for peaceful protest. If there was no video of that, there would not have been a big reaction to it. http://www.pixiq.com/contributors/carlosmiller

Start getting tired of "PP syncro issues":
- Partner says that is main agency problem. - Main agency says that are a Partner issue. - Both want and will solve the problem.
The true is that no one sales month after month.
---------------------------------------------- Is there a particular partner or micro you are having problems with?
One is Yaymicro. Moreover, they add more agencies to API and none of my 540 images appear to be in almost all of them. My hope for Yaymicro was get some sales trough PP ( direct sales is out of question because it seems they don't have any clients/traffic... ).
------------------------------ Thanks for sharing, hopefully calling them out will get them to fix the problem.

Just saw this on BigStock forum. (yeah one of the four people who look there every month...)
http://www.crystalgraphics.com/
Crystal Graphics is an authorized Bigstock reseller. When/if an image sells at their site, the earnings go into your Bigstock account. They also purchase the image from you to post it to their site at the onset.
Noelle Support Bigstock
I'm still kind of confused. If they purchase it, why do they pay when it sells? A reseller could display for nothing and pay when it sells. I'm lost?
Anyway, you might want to add it to the list, in case someone finds something of theirs up on Crystal Graphics
Done - Thanks for letting us know.

Forget about the 'correct' license. I'm pretty sure that the Acropolis and Parthenon are copyright-protected by the Greek tourist board. Without their permission you're not allowed to sell image licenses of them for commercial gain.
Boy you are a hard case for copyright aren't you?
First guess is Phidias for the Parthenon, he designed it? But since it was built in the 5th century BC, maybe it public domain by now? The Acropolis is the hill in Athens on which the Parthenon stands. Is this like Ayers Rock where someone is trying to steal the rights that God has for creating it all? In my personal (and distorted) opinion, I'd say the Myceneans own the rights and they expired.
Do you have any documentation, links or basis for the theory that the Greek Tourist Board claims the rights? That would be interesting. It would also mean that all the images on all the sites are in need of upgrading to Editorial or removal. Shhh, I won't tell if you don't.
I recall the Board tried this several years back, but don't know how successful they've been convincing the world that you need to license the rights from them...

...and Veer might reject an image with "isolated" other than to mean "remote".
There are tens of thousands of isolated images on Veer with the isolated keyword
-------------------------------------- I've had more then one image rejected with instructions to remove the keyword "isolated" and resubmit with "cutout". I think there is a thread in their forum about keywording that mentions this.

Veer has a controlled vocabulary. I think Canstock has a 40 character limit to titles.
Add "cutout" to all your images on an isolated background as some sites treat it as a synonym to "isolated" and Veer might reject an image with "isolated" other than to mean "remote".
