this was never going to be true. would mean they would have sold the image for $18k. never in a million deals will someone pay that for a non exclusive royalty free image at shutterstock.

not sure if they can stop anyone from writing scripts. its laughable if they try to, unfortunately, even though there is nothing in the contract about writing scripts, they can kick you out when they want to. if its about publishing stuff on the forum, then i can see their point.

baldrick, space, of course i see a slow down in the weekend, like everyone else, and of course a zero day was bound to happen with the current state of the market and ss policies. so we're back to the op, time to evaluate.

ok, let me repeat myself, i never had zero sales on a weekend, on christmas day, on memorial day, on the 4th, or whatever day
so you can come up with all possible celebratory days, it still doesnt change the fact that that didnt hinder me before.

Baldrick, agreed, that day happened to me this year after going without zero donwloads for a decade. and it angers me, because ss is taking the istock route. lowered acceptance criteria, lowered quality criteria and increased quantities have bloated the library with 100 million images in 5 years. they had 25 million images in 8 years before that.

Spacefootage, i am just getting to apoint where i lose faith that it will correct itself. Ss always had ups and down for the last 3-4 years, but now the trend is really down. and getting no downloads on any given day is very worrying. slow downs on memorial day or christmas days are expected, but zero...... thats sign of the new times

time to evaluate the site performance and look for alternatives.
I personnaly evaluate MY performance when my images don't sell... and I always have looked for alternatives, even when sales were good.
awesome, so when your sales drop by 50% is because your images started suck.ing one day to the next.

to follow up on my previous success story. today (saturday) i achieved ZERO downloads.
time to evaluate the site performance and look for alternatives.
You're looking for alternatives after one day of having zero sales... and on a weekend? You might be jumping the gun slightly. What happens if you get no sales for two days in a row... delete your entire portfolio and burn all your equipment?
point out to me where i said i will leave ss? i understand you dont follow people around on the forum, but i think i have been pretty clear that my sales have dropped around 50% and havent had any zero sales for many years until this year. i never had zero sales on a weekend, on christmas day, on memorial day, on the 4th, or whatever day.

This whole weekend will be slow, including Monday. It's Memorial Day weekend in the US and slow sales are normal during this holiday.
the world doesnt revolve around the USA. in europe its a normal weekend.

Sundays tend to be slow
i said saturday, sundays are someone else's saturday or monday, so they are better than saturdays. saturday is the slowest day of the week for me

It's not perfect by any means
thousands of dead workers, building stadiums and infrastructure for the world cup soccer. no, its not perfect. f*ck sake, its criminal. thats no media hype, if you think so, you might want to pop your bubble

cathy, insightful comment
sue, its a business expense, and if you cant afford a call to ask where your money is, you have bigger problems
and i think baldrick lives in the area so i doubt the cost would be high for him
anway, if the number is not connected, then it kind of starts to tell a story about this agency, avoid like the plague

LOL cathy, you are so funny!!! so you dont call and just sit here moaning on a forum. i dont care what you do or dont, i think it cant hurt to call them. whatever.

what proof? that you sent an email? still no proof that they received or read them. and if you dont call them you never know if they will pick up or not. honestly dont get why you wouldnt call them. its a small effort with often big results. at least in my experience

lana, i have thousands of files , photos(most), videos and illustrations, i dont want to give away any details identifying me, agencies are prone to retaliate
anyway, i made exactly 10 dls today
mantis, those big ones used to keep my figures up, theyre also gone now, overall i am down 50% on ss, just like sean.

i am afraid i wont exceed 10 downloads today. its that bad
not sure how to tackle this but i guess uploading more isnt going to help much.
the pie is shared amongst to many people, ss is doing great, but it my motivation is gone.
