The best KPI is not RPD nor RPI, but RPYPI = revenue per year per image.

It takes the size of the portfolio in consideration, the performance of the assets and normalizes everything on the time scale.

High RPYPI means success and efficiency.

Wow! Congrats!

What is very surprising is that it's an editorial picture.
I suspect that the buyer managed to get rid of the editorial limitations and use it in a movie or something.

Effectively a 10% paycut for all contributors outside the USA factoring in the conversion and rates from paypal etc.

Not a good look.  Commission reduction via the back door.

So effectively people who got paid in dollars were making 10% less than the rest of the world all this time? When do we get compensated for the inequity that gave you more than us? 🤔 😈

You should ask Adobe, european contributors didn't take anything from you. Plus currently it is around 10% with conversion to euro, which you don't need to do.

Although I wasn't totally serious with that request that we get the same pay for the same work, if you want to start picking? The fact that you got paid more, took away from the company profits, so all of other people got paid less and the company couldn't afford to give us more or equal pay. So yes you did take something from us.

Honestly, a company paying suppliers with one currency is a good idea. For them, not for us, but for their accounting and internal affairs.

What they do for CC has nothing to do with our business and interests. When they announced this it didn't say Euros or dollars or Pounds. It said many different international currencies. I wonder how many they were using and having to figure out, convert and then pay.

Yes I agree, the European people will get stiffed a bit by this and possibly exchange rates or transfers. And you will be incurring higher expenses for the cost of doing business. You have my honest sympathy, but I'm not going overboard, as you got paid more than the rest of us for about 20 years.

Something discussed extensively a few years ago:

https://www.microstockgroup.com/fotolia-com/adobe-stock-30084/msg491269/#msg491269

Probably, as opposite to the Fotolia days, the amount of US sales is now exceeding by some margin the amount of eurozone sales, so whatever gains AS had by selling in euros in the eurozone, are now nullified by overpaying the eurozone contributors for their US sales.

So, the charity had to be ended.

I was trying to get DALL-E to generate a photo of a Ukranian soldier firing a bazooka at a Russian tank in winter.  All efforts and variations in wording produced totally unusable results.  Even with a lot of fixing up, I can't see sending results to a stock site.
just try doing something more peaceful and you will succeed  ;D

Yes, you should try to simulate the invading Russian army withdrawing from Ukraine, after its teritorial integrity is restored.

That would be a very peaceful image!

And hopefuly, it might even become a best seller this year!  ;)

255
I know that Fotolia use to sell to European customers in euros.
Is it still the case for AS?
Of course it is. For example 40 credits pack costs 337,49 including VAT (which can be  different depending on country). Right now I can't see from phone how much it is in USA and in $ but it was cheaper as far as I know.

If so, for their eurozone sales, eurozone contributors will be underpaid the same way non-eurozone contributors were underpaid since the early Fotolia days.

Welcome to the club!  ;)

A surprisingly good January (better than SS!)

259
I do my taxes by the cash method.  Its what comes into my account during the year.  I dont really care what any of the agencies report.

In my experience, the only agency with discrepancies is AS. For the rest (DT inclusive), whatever lands in Paypal is what I see on their reports.

The real help for Ukraine comes from actual donations and from constantly asking for sanctions against Ruscism to be widely implemented and maintained.
I am donating, you are flooding the thread

Excellent 👏👏👏! I am also donating.
But it looks to me that you can't refrain from contributing to the "flood", despite saying that you said your last word, a few posts above ;)

261
Guys, you are not helping Ukraine by flooding the thread. I'd say, you do exactly the opposite.
Sorry, this is my last words about it here

No worries.
The real help for Ukraine comes from actual donations and from constantly asking for sanctions against Ruscism to be widely implemented and maintained.
That includes restrictions against the use of "western" products like Adobe software. Isn't their propaganda claiming that "the West" is corrupt and decaying? Is so, they shouldn't even need Adobe products.

262

Personally I believe our Russian colleagues do not support the war. Artists and creatives are usually supporters of freedom, peace, lgbt rightsetc

Except for the illustrators who created those propaganda memes, as you can see above.  ;)

I don't see a reason for your wishful thinking.

Microstock is a side job for a large majority of the contributors, Russian inclusive.
Besides those propagandist illustrators, I wouldn't be surprised to find out that even people working directly in the Russian war industry do microstock to supplement their income.

Does Adobe banned  its products for russian users?

I hope they did.

They must have done it. It's just common sense.
It's not in Adobe's interest to contribute to Putin's propaganda or seen as fueling his criminal war machine.
If someone has violated a crime, is it necessary to put all his relatives, friends, neighbors, classmates and so on in jail?
If he committed a crime with a hammer, should all his countrymen be banned from selling hammers?
"Just common sense"?
Dear colleagues! Let's look in the mirror more often, Let's not get into xenophobia and politics, but discuss issues related to microstocks.

We don't send them to jail, but we don't do business with them as long as they continue to support directly or indirectly those criminals who killed their fomer buddies by smashing their heads with a sledgehammer (among many other atrocities).

We don't do business with them as long as they continue to support the bosses (read Putin) who ordered those atrocities.

It's just common sense.

PS. That trash requires some illustration skills, so it's very probable that illustration tools (very possible from Adobe too) were used to create that.

It's not in Adobe's interest to contribute to Putin's propaganda or seen as fueling his criminal war machine.
Putin's propaganda already have a wide variety of options. From third-party resellers and buyout licenses (yes!) to de facto legalized piracy.
But you are talking about your colleagues, microstock contributors, who just want to do things right. Remember, codes are distributed inside the industry. How can you imagine propaganda on the Adobe Stock, for example?

1. Russians contributors are paying taxes from earnings made from microstock, using tools made by Adobe. Their taxes are used wage war on Ukraine, to destroy cities, to kill civilians, to torture, to rape and plunder.
Adobe surely doesn't want to be associated with that.

2. All the propaganda memes below (and many more flooding the internet) were most probably created using Adobe products.
Potentially giving tools for free to such "artists", and enabling Putin's propaganda is too risky.
Adobe surely doesn't want to be associated with that.

The 2022 bonus program for Adobe Stock contributors has been confirmed!

General Stock Discussion / Re: Agencies worth uploading?
« on: February 09, 2023, 09:54 »
Is there any other agency you would recommend trying with 13k photos ?

At the moment I am doing good at:
- Shutterstock
- Adobe
- iStock

Not worth it:
- Depositphotos
- Dreamstime

If you use automated tools like Stocksubmitter, uploading to multiple platforms (DP and DT included), will take nothing extra from you, as long a you use it to submit to SS or AS, for example.
So you can ask yourself if it's worth it, when it's efortless for you.

Shutterstock.com / Re: Shutterstock 1099 tax form for 2022?
« on: February 09, 2023, 09:43 »
On the left menu click on the earnings tab then click on the Tax Center
Link should be there.

My 1099 info is not there for me. I can only see the W9.
But I received an email from SS with the link, and I also have the banner on my contributor's page.

For the original poster: maybe trying this link will work for you:

Does anyone received complimentary code yet? My photography plan has expired today and wondering what to do.

mine expired too & i just renewed - when the codes arrive, it will start your free year when you apply it

If I rememeber correctly, in the past, I got the PS+LR yearly subscription before the codes arrived, and I became subject of some early termination fee. I had to call customer service and convince them to switch my account to the all apps version without losing money.

I was expecting a notification from SS announcing that we can opt-out, so thanks for letting us know that it's already possible.

I am now out of "data deals".
I hope that many will follow, to prevent us from competing with ourselves and losing full sales for fractions of pennies.

PS... and please don't slide ALL 3 buttons to the left  ;)

271
My 2022 uploads were a bit above the new requirement, so I'm exceeding both the 20 uploads and the 6k downloads thresholds.

Nice to see that I will be able to continue to use the Encoder, besides, LR and PS.

272
Hello,

As far as I know there is no way to see the number of downloads for photos and videos separately in "My Statistics"? Correct me if I'm wrong, please.

Thanks.

Hi @KoKi,

I'm sorry but you are not wrong. You are not able to filter out sales statistics by asset type.

Is there a way to see how much an image has earned Lifetime on Adobe?

Microstockr. And not just for Adobe but across all platforms.

But it's not free.

273
I could easily find my dude's state and city and I have the last 4 digits of his SSN.
His full address may be also found with a bit of extra digging.

I can only hope that whoever got my details will not use them in a nefarious way  >:(

274
The subject pretty much says it all, I got a 1099 in the mail today from DT with my address and account name, but a different person's name and TIN and the $ amount was not correct for me either.  I did check to W-9 on file at DT and it is correct. I sent them an e-mail so I guess I'll see what they say. I hope my name SS# and $ amount wasn't sent to someone else.

Same here!

Different name, different SSN (last 4 digits), different yearly earnings, but the same address as me.

This is messed up!  >:(

I found an old email with the link, but after filling in the required fields, I am thanked for opting in, but then I also get the red message about the wrong vendor number.  :-\
