I've summarized a few of my preliminary thoughts on the changes in a blog entry, feel free to check it out and correct me if I am wrong in my thinking.

http://mellimage.blogspot.com/2011/08/news-2011-08-30.html

Could you amend the bit "The fact is pretty plain. If you want to contribute to iStockphoto as a non-exclusive contributor your files will also be available on the partner sites. Period. If you decide that isn't for you we appreciate that. You can close your account and only submit your work on alternative agencies. It's entirely your choice." (Quoted after Cogent Marketing). and accredit the quote for Lobo at iSP? It was pasted off his response to an exclusive on the iSP forum this morning.
Thanks

I can and will. :)

The other thing to do for me is also to look at alternatives of monetizing my images outside of microstock.

254
This time I am considering leaving - Istock has become a low earner to me anyways (I am happy if I make 25US$ there a month), so it should not hurt too much. I fail to see the bright side of this new ASA.

If I read this correctly non exclusives have no ability to opt out of anything.  IS will use your images on partner sites, for promotional use and in APIs regardless of your opinions.

That is what I am reading.  >:(

*Dislike* After having thought about restarting to upload there (after 1.5 years of not doing that) I feel I should pull my port completely now.

Since I've been banned with no reason at all from the Fotolia forum, I don't feel that welcome at their "Stammtisch" or at any of their workshops in Berlin - that would have been the most likely occasion to meet up. Maybe things will fall into place so you can fit "both under one hat", as the Germans say.  ;)

I do not think you miss much in terms of Fotolia Stammtische, because as far as I know they are not taking place anymore. At least no official ones. If you want, send me a PM with an e-mail addy of yours and I'll let you know when I am making it to Berlin the next time (and have some time for a meet-up).

Announced the Microstock Expo through my blog too to spread the news. :)

258
Well, since I am not living too far away from Berlin, meeting could be possible at another time. But yes, I'd like to be there too, just if I have to choose... .

259
If I have to choose between defending my Ph.D. around that time and the Microstock Expo, I am afraid it will be my Ph.D.  ;)

If sales (what sales??) keep going the same way as they were for this year, I won't be able to make the same bracket that I have this year and drop to 15%.
Remind me again - why, for 15% of commission, should I resume uploading to istock? Still do not see an incentive. Got enough stuff to do elsewhere.

I've been thinking about it too. And I've got a very good reason. It's not an excuse, it's real. I'm very, very ill and I need every cent.
But I can't do it. It's impossible; trust me, I tried.
IStock's BS (and upload page), make me sicker than the medical treatment I have to endure right now.
There's something about that site. I can't even look at it without feeling nauseous.
On moral grounds, on principles and not for the life of me (literally).
I can't upload to IStock.
But the best of luck to you, thank you for everything you tried to do and get busy selling :)

Yeah Istock's treating of contributors (fraud deductions, commission cuts etc) plus the awful upload page make it hard for me to reconsider my decision for now. Would be more likely to add another agency to my income mix than upload there again at the moment.

BTW - sorry to hear you are sick. I wish you tons of sales on all other agencies you are supplying to. And a lot of healing thoughts and prayers to come your way.

You are not the only one who has not resumed uploading yet. I am not uploading there again, my earnings there have been reduced to a very small amount (about 80 percent less what it used to be). But I still do not find any incentive to resume uploading. I am concentrating my limited time resources to upload to the other agencies. And only if I am not that busy with that anymore - I may reconsider uploading to istock again.

BME at Dreamstime - this site is finally picking up for me, good month on SS and FT (still my best earner). Istock - plainly sucks. Saw a huge drop in income there last month already and this month has only been slightly better (a dollar or two more in earnings). 123rf is also bringing some sales, but am miles away from a payout there.

What I love seeing is that my playful concepts series brings in a lot of sales. I plainly have a lot of fun shooting that series.

I think youre president Bush was better then this clown Obama?  he seams a complete joke to us here in Europe. We wouldnt even consider him as a porter to open the front-doors to parliament, here in Europe.

Please speak only for yourself. He may be a joke to you, but your opinion may not be shared by "all of us here in Europe".

General Stock Discussion / Re: April 2011 Stats
« on: May 01, 2011, 02:27 »
Not a good month for me, especially not at Istock, where I was down 80 per cent compared to last April, 23 downloads the whole month. Doesn't encourage me to spend any time to increase my portfolio there. Istock comes in at the 4th spot for me, FT is still my best earner (though this month not by much), SS and DT were stable. On the other hand, I had a BME at 123rf.com (though at a very small scale). Not long and 123rf will perform better than IS for me.

266
Geez, seems like the US did not let my postcards in - hey, US costums - the flower on the card is NOT livestock, it is a photograph of a flower.  ??? ???

*Shakes head in disbelief*

Thursday turned out to be a brillant day!  like in the old days. Is the search beginning to work or what?  anybody else with same experience?

Nope, April could easily be WME for me over there. Istock might be dropping to the fifth ranked agency for me - either already this month  or next month if things do not pick up again.

My earnings this month: 11$ (compared to 83 $ last April). Not a single sale since the 15th and only one since the 13th. Slow doesn't even cover it - dead is more likely.

269
At the moment it is a bit below average at the moment, but not really bad.

270
My soft beauty seems to be missing there, yes. :(

thanx Lisa. :)

272
I only have 10, also. I am missing blufish, mellimage, massman and rgebbiephoto.

Mine should have been there ages ago -  sent it out in February... .
And I also have 11 excluding my own.
