The poor and other causes were forgotten. Now it's the idiology of gender, races and that sort of thing. Excuse me but I am 48 years old and I do not adapt to these times, maybe I could be very old. It is something that is fashionable and many companies are doing it. It is to keep up with the times, very cool and fashionable! Todo lo progre esta de moda.  :)

Its always about the poor and always has been.  The stupid social justice warriors are just to dumb to figure it out.

They push their little agendas and just turn it into a circus and the tyranny of minorities.

253
Then open  a twitter account (anonymously) and go complain on their twitter account and facebook account.

Shout it to the heavens!

This fake social justice bullshitt is just companies trying to show how street they are.

Its meaningless and empty gesturing

Looks like one of dozens of print/wall art companies.

It appears they are an afilliate of Adobe

Yup its a crappy month with no one selling anything.  :(

Just like January and December

If you think a contract is outragous don't sign it. No one is compelled to sign up to an agency no agency requires you to submit a minimum number of pictures or direct you on what to produce and mostly they don't restrict your ability to sell elsewhere.

It's all very well saying this, in reality the Agencies are always changing the Contracts, so you start off with a reasonable contract and then over the years after you have put a great deal of time and effort into the portfolios they change the terms you originally signed up for.

This is not being compelled to sign, this is being forced to sign.

You are not compelled to do anything.

Even Jon Oringer was quite blunt about the latest royalty reductions when he stated publicly that anyone who didn't like should just go and take their portfolios with them.

257
I hired Shutterstock and Adobe to sell my content and I give them a percentage of every sale. So they work for me.

Oh I hope that was a tongue in cheek statement  ::)

Uber drivers are workers, UK supreme court rules

Will this affect the Stock industry?

Part of the ruling was drivers were considered to be employees because they didn't set the fairs.

This is exactly the same as in Microstock, except for a few I can think of, Pond 5, Envato and Creative Markets.

Maybe this ruling will have a impact on Shutterstock.

Seeing as most stock agencies are not based in the United Kingdom how on earth do you even begin to think that this ruling would in any way shape or form have an effect on the the stock industry?  :o

Plus what Jo Ann said above which I agree with.

Alamy.com / Re: Super keywords?
« on: February 17, 2021, 11:03 »
I'm pretty successful on Alamy however unlike dumps like shittystock you do have to be very careful you don't spam keywords, be very accurate with keywords and descriptions also add plurals i.e. dog, dogs, cat, cats.

You should also take the time to complete the optional data.

If you get it right the sales do come in.

Get it wrong and their system identifies poor keywords by what customers search for and click on as well as buy.  So poor keywords mean your images get pushed down the search rankings.

Bear in mind what sells on Alamy is totally different to the stuff the microstock sites sell.

Glad to hear I did not use officially offending words!  The model is from the UK, not American, so I wasn't sure if there were cultural differences on this topic.  If he writes again, I'll tell him there's a difference between an incorrect and a racist word, and if he's searching for incorrect keywords at Shutterstock, he'll find billions of them ...

There is nothing offensive about using the word afro.

Afterall if someone is "afro-caribbean" you use the word "afro"

261
Braids or plaits also braided, however they can be described as an afro with braids

https://therighthairstyles.com/30-best-black-braided-hairst/

As to your dipshit terminally insulted facebook contact they obviously didn't check shitterstocks latest "afro" offerings as it includes white women/caucasians

I would just send him a thank you message and advise them the key words have now been amended.

Then block the idiot.

262
Why are you even worried about this?

Just ignore it and block that dipshit you are just being trolled.

However if your model does not have an afro hair style as she has braided hair then I'd remove the keywords as it is misleading.  You might want to consider corn rows.

And no afro hair style is not offensive.

As to shitterstock they won't give a sh-it

Shutterstock.com / Re: Banned by Shutterstock?
« on: February 15, 2021, 04:11 »
I've heard many contributors were banned by Shutterstock last year when they changed the royalty structure.  Why were they banned exactly?  Did they write bad things about Shutterstock on their forum?  Were there another reasons they were banned?  If you were banned, let me know what exactly happened.

Who are many contributors that are banned from Shitterstock? Not the forum but contributor account closed. I heard we only gets 10c for downloads why would I care if they ban me from being used and under paid.

Yeah, but occasional $100-300 commission video sales are nice too.

Make up your mind then. One minute you are slating shitterstock on their forum and threatening to pull your portfolio next minute you are making statements like the one above.

Do you really think if you moan enough that ss will reinstate the old royalty program?

Why do you care why they were banned?

You've said plenty on the shittystock forum to get yourself a warning if the admins actually bothered monitoring the forum.

Shittersucks only wants useful idiots praising them to the heavens these days,.

I banned myself from their crappy forum  ;D

It's just the usual round up of people moaning about the royalty cuts and how they should delete their portfolios while adding more stuff and encouraging the bad behaviour then moaning about how their royalties are garbage.

266
whatever what ss do adobestock will grow to become a monster

How so?  Adobe have had a number of years to achieve this and they still aren't turning up with the sales

Shutupstock will undercut the competition and we'll be left with them and maybe getty who are just as bad.

So DeanRyanMartin is the necromancer today?  ;D

No. Absolutely not, lol These are the threads I love reading here - stock footage. And I'm interested with sales too. Case studies and the such.

Give it a rest you are trolling the forum reactivating threads from almost 10 years ago.

WHATS YOUR REAL PURPOSE?

To hawk Stockfilm.com no doubt

270
Many of the most successful sellers at Pond5 are all users who are consistently uploading new material on a regular basis.

Yes. Consistency is the name of the game.

Its a 6 year old thread

Anyway back to the subject

Just reached level three today Woo Hoo!!!  ::)

Still 10 cents coming in :D

Congratulations to moving up, one step closer to getting more dimes. While I sit at level 1 getting? Dimes!   ;D

Actually good that for the real sales and not the subs, you'll get 25% now which according to old calculations, was about what we got before the "new improved, reward based system". S

I just feel so good that my images are making Jon and Stan even more wealthy. ::)

I do hope Jon can buy a new helicopter he deserves it  ;D

The reality is ShutterStock is run as a facist organisation, it doesnt remotely come anywhere near capitalism.

Those who continue to upload are just being exploited by a bunch of Nazis.
Shutterstock is a  product of unfettered free market capitalism. It has nothing whatever to do with Fascism as far as I can see. To draw parallels with concentration camps is a bit ridiculous really.

I am drawing a parallel with how Jon Oringer and Stan Pavlovsky think, there thinking is straight out of the Facist playbook.
For example?

I am not saying that Oringer and Pavlovsky are doing this because they are Jewish, (who cares what they are) I am simply saying they are Fascist, sure they run Shutterstock like many large companies (who are also run by Fascists).

The whole fee structure is 'Work will set you Free', which is a Facist motto.
The fee structure is based on the capitalist system of supply and demand. Nothing to do with fascism. You don't work for Shutterstock and no one is forcing you to contribute. One of the primary definitions of Fascism is nationalism which they are the complete opposite of. They are simply exploitative bosses.

I don't believe the fee structure is supply and demand, it is based on those who control the fees ripping off the suppliers, by hiding behind a fee structure that they won't divulge.

The definition of Fascism is;- a form of far-right, authoritarian ultranationalism characterized by dictatorial power, forcible suppression of opposition and strong regimentation of society and of the economy.

This can be directly applied to Shutterstock as a business, the only trait that is missing is 'ultranationalism' otherwise all the characteristics are the same.

They are Business Fascists, it is a way of thinking.

Then delete your portfolio and leave them if you hate them that much

Yep!  and this is very strange considering both Oringer and Pavlovsky are of Jewish origin/religion!

Good grief its not because they are facists or Jewish its because they follow the same old well trodden path of all businesses in the USA which is crush everyone, competition, suppliers et al.

Corporate greed and good old fashioned capitalism.

« on: February 03, 2021, 06:22 »
As for the payments, I always got paid, since I'm with them, no problems. Reviews do take long time, but I just upload and forget,

Seriously, I am glad that some people are happy with them and finding it a good agency.

I just see so many odd issues, with the website, it makes me wonder what's going on there.

I dumped them when they decided 21.6 cents was a good return.

However since the debacle at shitterstock and their 10 cent returns 21 cents seems like a fortune  ;D
