Yep, it could be useful to know if you accept 5D mark II footages!!!
Waiting for answer...

Just stop uploading to them and you heart and brain gonna be healthful.

Canstock is one of the more easy site for uploading pictures!!! No categories, model release manager very useful, please don't change!!

Friendly to contributors is very nice, but it's not enough. Not to say that being Getty-like to contributors is OK, but that a marketing plan, decent prices, reasonable royalty structure and a solidly functioning site are critical.

I'll keep an eye on PhotoDune to see how things evolve, but at the moment I don't think it makes sense for me. 25% on a low price, low volume site with insanely low EL prices just doesn't add up.

+1

Just a question:
Do you planning putting advertisements somewhere to promote your site???
As you're in Japan, what is your selling strategy in your country???
I see you're promoting on facebook, that's ok for fun, but facebook isn't a professional media!!!

Ok, i see people are uploading to site giving 25% of 3$ (not !) for large download and with the cheapest extended license of the market, including 5$ for extra small!!
Ok, ok, then SS can lowering commission now, fotolia and istock can cut again in half...go on ...go on... ::)
Why photodune can't give 40% commission and review their extended licence price to attract more contributors and fight to the top?
I like the fact that Collis is giving clear and fair news, but i'm disappointed for  the lack of effort on commissions...i would really like to upload there, but... :-\

Actually, I don't have the choice too...
I'm keeping my files on istock and stop uploading, like at fotolia, it's finally a good news: the upload process on these two sites were a real pain and last upload almost never sell...
I'm planning also to remove some selective files in the istock portfolio.

« on: August 29, 2011, 17:54 »
So...

If you say "no" to the new agreement:

-your files actually on istock are always selling
-istock can not mirroring the files to cheaper partner sites
-you can not upload new files anymore

If you say "yes"

- Your files are mirrored to other sites for cheapest price
- You are killing SS and other good earners
- You can upload new files

Is it right or not?

So, if we disagree, our istock account is closed and the portfolio deleted?

Mmmm,
So, as non-exclusive, if we don't agree with the new agreement, what happen??? We can not upload new files? We can not sell? We can not receive money from sale anymore??? In one word, if we not accept, our portfolio is automatically deleted from istock?
Where is the option to be agree or disagree?

Not here!  Im having big and small sales, even some ELs. I can actually see a very positive improvement from earlier. Just hopes it stays that way.
Good for you, are you the niece of fotolia boss?

Yes, I am definitely stopping uploads to them. I will monitor what's happening during this month before I take other measures. Anyway, at this rate even if I stay there I will hit gold level in a few years perhaps, with the vast majority of sales being subs.
In my US account, I've not uploaded new files since 2 years and the sales stay at the same level. Keeping account open without sending new files, is a good alternative, in return, fotolia going to lack of new images and be surpassed by the others sites in few months...but only if many of us are acting like that...
If the sales drop deeply next months, no regrets to close the account...

Maybe it's not worth to close our accounts immediately, but we must stop uploading new pictures now, stop feeding the thief.
