VideoBlocks / Re: Commission cut
« on: July 16, 2018, 10:24 »
My letter to them.
Hello,

As a videoblocks artist with thousands of high quality clips here I am saddened by your news! You are now going to be one of the lowest earners per clip sale instead of the highest. This will force me to not give you certain content due to the low pricing return! A much better move would be to stay the leader for artist is to be at 75% instead of 50%. I have been in this industry for years and this is a mistake! You should have also lowered your 4k price to $150.00. You see the value is in the buyer getting a great price for subscribing to your service and the artist getting a great return a win win in this industry. Now you are lower and offer less features you will not be able to compete with Getty, Adobe and Pond5, shutterstock unless you stand out. What made you stand out is how you treated the artist! Sorry to see this go out the window.

I love Pond5, VideoBlocks and Adobe the most!

There is no full manual mode on this camera

I stopped uploading to them over a year ago, I was a Diamond Exclusive for years but just couldn't take the abuse anymore. At this point it is the other agencies who have more exclusive content compared to Getty!!

287
I am not going to name any names but many here know who I am referring too! The fact is Getty practices very shady business with artist!!

288
Dear Getty,

Is kicking out one of your top producing photographers because he blew the whistle on you giving images away fair? Is right out lying to people fair? Is selling my 4k video clips for pennies fair? Is a secretive culture fair? Is not answering direct questions on the forum fair? Well to let you know I never treat my models in any way close to the way you treat artist! If I did I would probably be in jail.

289
LOL, at least I got a good laugh in today, what a joke! They treat the artist like dirt! They flat out lied to me on more the one Occassion. One example is when my video clips got ported to Getty I was told I would never make less money per sale then I do on iStock.... Uhhh yeah right I have statements  to prove that false!!

290
Not interested! This question makes no sense!!

This is nothing more then a service for busy video artist who do not have time to submit to stock, I work with BlackBox and submit footage for several
talented artist, it has been a win win for all of us. If you don't need curation then no big deal just us the platform to submit your own footage to save time.
There is a larger market out there then just MSG Group! I have been thrilled with BlackBox and the service they offer!

Bottom line report all of your income and you will be fine. I give all my income statements and earnings  to my accountant and let him
worry about it!

Come on back when you have no internet service and we will chat again. My speed is the same now as it was in 2010 so Net Neutrality did nothing for me!

Supporters of net neutrality say that it protected everyday Americans from having their internet slowed down or their favorite websites blocked by a greedy, evil internet service provider. Others have said net neutrality made sure free speech wasnt stifled by ISPs. These claims are nothing more than myths.

Market forces already protected consumers, because if an ISP started deliberately slowing down peoples favorite websites and streaming services, or putting an end to free speech, consumers would simply switch to a different ISP.

No internet service provider wants to be known for having slow service or being anti-free-speech, so theres nothing for consumers to worry about.

Further, if a rogue ISP does decide to start unjustly penalizing a business or group of consumers, the Federal Trade Commission and FCC will still be able to stop these actions through their other regulatory powers.

Perhaps most importantly, if net neutrality was so important, why is it that the internet was able to grow and operate so successfully from its creation all the way until 2015 without any of these dire problems?

Make no mistake about it, net neutrality wasnt really about paid prioritization or ensuring internet fairness. The truth is that net neutrality was passed by the left-wing Obama administration to give more power over the internet to the federal government.

Nothing stopped them in 2013 or 2014. Your internet will be just fine, just wait and see!!

The internet as you know it is not going anywhere, I hate all this fear mongering! The less the govt. is involved in business the better! Business will provide what the people demand. If anything this helps keep the internet more free and open. After all it was fine up until 2015 when the law was passed! Where was all the screaming about this in 2014??
