Istock announced it weeks ago, you're behind the times.

« on: June 09, 2008, 03:24 »
On target for 50% of last month. No sales for the last three days, I havn't had a no sale day since March.

Ebb and flow?
best match change?
Summer slowdown?
Sans crown?
Economic downturn?

Can't do much about it. Either upload more or upload non.

Yaymicro / Re: yaymicro - new microstock site
« on: May 21, 2008, 15:03 »
Yeah, the name surely does sound a bit eccentric, but after all what does "google" mean? Once a company is successful, people get used to most unusual names.

One thing is certain, these guys know how to build a slick and superfast website, with probably the best upload process in the industry. We will see if it remains so smooth as the database grows.

What's more they pay in a real-world currency and the royalty structure is very decent.
Usually I don't contribute to low performing sites or startups, but I decided to give YAY a chance. Let's hope they will be successful in reaching buyers.

I quite agree with you Tom. Their slick and efficient interface has put all the established micros to shame, including those with deep pockets.

I hope they do well and become a major player. It might be the wake up call the others need, however, the proof of the pudding is in the eating, they still have to find buyers and convince them that they are the place to buy images from, despite the higher price.

123RF / Re: New credit price at 123?
« on: May 21, 2008, 11:34 »
Congrats on the EL. Had a good day there myself yesterday with 7 credit sales. They seem to be picking up the pace and credit sales are on the increase, which is very good to see, on target for a BME. Earnings so far this year are 3 x Crestock, nearly 2 x BigStock and snapping at the heels of DT. 123 is my new mover and shaker.

Why is it, that whenever I 'woohoo' something it turns to shite. Since my comment about 123 being my new mover and shaker the downloads pretty much stopped, nothing for over seven days, not even a cheeky subscription sale. Just me?

Mostphotos.com / Re: what does this say?

It says:

Mvh Arian

Just kidding, it says:

It is Arian here form Mostphotos.com!

We have recently built in an adult filter that I would like to inform you about. Also I would like to invite you to this thread where I have posted my thoughts and wonders. Would love to hear your opinions. Check it out:
http://www.mostphotos.com/forumviewthread.php?thread=1400

What more has happened?
The site is growing with approximately1500 photos a day. We are having some clever marketing plans on the way so just keep on uploading so that the buyers wont get dissapointed when they come to the site. Also I would like to encourage you to give keywords on as many languges that you can. This will make the buyers find photos on their own language.

Anyways I hope everything is going well with you and that your time on the site has been nice, also if you have any questions or ideas just feel to email me. I love to have this kind of direct communication with the members.

Regards
Arian

At least that's what I got in my email from them today. How is the 'think big' challenge going?

It does make you wonder how much thought was put into things when the new pricing was launched. I think SS missed quite a few e.g. single EL purchase, single image purchase, smaller subscription packages.

The adage "If it's not broken don't try to fix it" is not always the best plan. But who knows what goes on behind closed doors. Can I smell a sale on the horizon?

I thought I would bump this thread , to see if my experience is similar to other submitters. Here is how it breaks down for me this year:

May '08 subscription DLs = 47% of total DLs (so far)
Apr '08 subscription DLs = 45% of total DLs
Mar '08 subscription DLs = 47% of total DLs
Feb '08 subscription DLs = 46% of total DLs
Jan '08 subscription DLs = 22% of total DLs
Dec '07 subscription DLs = 20% of total DLs
Nov '07 subscription DLs = 17% of total DLs
Oct '07 subscription DLs = 3% of total DLs

In $$ terms November '07 subscription sales were approx 3% of my overall StockXpert income, in April '08 it was nearly 11%, so far for May '08 its about 12%. My credit sales are dominated by XS, S and M sizes, where as my subscription sales are dominated by XL XXL and V sizes.

Are subscription sales on the increase at StockXpert? and are they eroding the revenue from credit sales?

It just seem such a shame that the agency with the fairest commission split has entered the world of subscriptions. Would anyone care to share their opinions and numbers. Thanks.

284
Yeah, .38 is low too.  I would have assumed at least .40 for high end earners.  Will be interesting to read what the big guys have to say about this....
Yes, $10k is far too low for the highest tier.
LOL i agree 10k is a joke even i fall in the highest tier and i didn't upload since two years because i don't support the subscription model anymore.

You don't support the subscription model AND you still have your portfolio available for download?

285
Where exactly has this been announced officially? All I can find at SS forums is rumour and conjecture .... link please?

I believe Monday is a bank holiday in the UK, so that may put a damper on the start of the week.

Correct. It may have also contributed to a slower day today, many will take the Friday off to have a four day weekend.

Then please accept my apologies, to you and Sy for referring to her as a him.

Crestock.com / Re: I got my First Sales!
« on: April 25, 2008, 10:02 »
My sales are creeping up month by month, it's good to see. Mostly subs with the odd credit sale thrown in. A couple of more $$ this month and it will be my fifth successive best match. Unfortunately, now that LO is out of the picture Crestock is now in last place for earnings. It's nice to see the upward trend even if it is slight.

I don't know of any. They have all tightened up on the PR requirements.

I see, you used Sy's affiliate link to benefit yourself, not content with your savings you then try to hijack his future commissions. Nice.

Who on earth is going to search with 'golden cross' when looking for an apple, if they are aware that this rare apple exists then surly the would use 'Jonagold'. I understand what you are saying, but I think you maybe taking it a bit too far.
