Was close to a BME for overall # of sales but came up just a bit short ... DT 66% BME !  123RF 24% FT 7% SS* 3% BigStock 0% StockXpert 0% *I was just accepted into SS with 9 files making it online in time for the last 1/2 day of the month. Midstock: MP 0% FP 0% ZM 0% Mark

I expect it to take a while before we see significant sales, but I really wish them luck with the launch. The professional way they have conducted themselves so far has been a delight.
Snapvillage take note of how it should have been done!
I think that is a result of their owners coming from one of the large European "Macro" sites. I too believe they have done everything in a very professional way by not rolling out the site as "beta"prior to opening its doors. Mark

Upload process is the best hopefully their marketing team is as good as programmers
Their upload process is amazingly simple and efficient. They also have a very streamlined and fast interface which should benefit slower connections. I am looking forward to their opening their doors soon ... -Mark

I had 5 sales but I think that was before the site was swamped with images. I will give them some time to get more buyers to the site. I don't like that new sites get built up and shot down so quickly. They pay a lot more per download that the micro sites, so I will give them a good chance.
Congrats on your MP sales sharpshot ! I know of yourself and of Moori that have confirmed here on MSG as having had over 5 sales. As a midstock site that pays commissions close to $17.50 a sale I will continue to upload as my portfolio grows and see what happens. A sale there, if it happens every now and then, shouldn't hurt as the upload process is relatively painless compared to some sites. Mark

FYI to all that are interested:
I have seen and heard of more individuals achieving their 1st or 2nd sale from both side coversations and their chat room. I am still currently awaiting anxiously awaiting my 2nd sale at a rate or over $17.50 Commission after converted from Euros ...
Payouts there are immediate as any one sale meets their payout threshold minimum requirement.

From what I've heard ... they've marketed extensively in Scandanavia which is their current base but they are expanding globally as they announced just a few months ago.
At the rate of their intake of photos ... I would be very curious as to how many photos they now have online and where they would rank in comparison to other "midstock" type sites.

I agree with Dan,
Editorial doesn't have to be a 'star shot'. There can be lots of reason people want an editorial shot of some local sporting event. Someone doing a write up on local rodeo culture, or something for example would want rodeo shots. Editorial type shots will suit them fine.
I think submitting a shot as editorial and saying 'I don't have a release for this, this was shot as editorial and the faces are showing and should be showing' is a lot better than shooting it for regular stock and trying to black out the face or get the people from behind and selling it as stock for advertising without a release.
All, I believe any image, that has the potential to be used for a blog, online article, story, or even as an actual "newsworthy" event, can be qualified for editorial usage. If it is to be written about or used to compliment written material that is not an advertisement for what is in the image or described by the image, then it qualifies as editorial use. Mark
