Tom, could it be that now that they've increased levels you have so darn many level 3 4 and 5 that the designers can't afford you anymore?? Seriously now, at DT I have 2 weeks of awesome sales followed by 2 weeks wondering if my collection has vanished. But at the end of the month, totals are pretty consistent. Slightly higher if I upload a few more.

Oh boy, everything has arrived and Canadian dollar is at $1.10 today. Paypal is charging over .11 per dollar exchange!! What is happening to this world?

Ah, Adelaide solves the mystery! I was worried that some of the big earners should make sure they aren't losing a small percentage somewhere

Does that mean that everyone else's payout tally is correct? That was what I was primarily asking before I went off track. Some of you must actually have good earnings there which could magnify a glitch. It seems kinda silly bringing up just a penny - but there must be a calculation glitch and it may have an actual impact those of you with good sales.

LOL, the only time I scratched a lens was about 15 years ago - a longish lens that fell - can't remember what happend now... But, the filter left a BIG scratch when it shattered.
I was outdoors a lot this summer, and in major wind shooting for about 10 hours one day. I had to clean a film that was almost like glue off the filter, it was very difficult. Oh man, was I glad I had one on that day. I don't know what the heck it was, combination of pollution and dust I guess.
I am lucky that my two most prized lenses have the same thread size.

Is there any way to see regular sales on 123, I can only find subscription sales. (Other than seeing numbers in myfaves).
I answered my own question - in the my images download page, top right corner you can switch between credits and subscriptions. .... just in case anyone else is as slow as me at picking up on these things

I haven't given 123 much attention, been there 4 months with maybe 5 dozen photos. I seem to remember Tom mentioning trouble with balances.
Today, (actually had 2 sales - that's like getting 100 on SS!) I was updating my spreadsheet and it was of by a penny.
Okay, so I only have 4 months to add up. The monthly totals are accurate (as long as they have credited subscription and regular correctly) but the earnings total at the bottom doesn't add up by one cent.
If it isn't calculating my total right, maybe it isn't calculating yours correctly either. This is the payout total - so it would affect you. It's only a penny but add a couple zeros and it makes a difference.

In studio - no filter Outside - filter
I live on the prairies. Pretty windy here as a rule and that dust gets everywhere. Based on the amount of crap I've had to remove from my filters, it's a wise choice for me. Lenses have a protective coating, and every time you rub is a micro-abrasion - so the less you have to mess with them the better. Man, its nerve wracking rubbing junk off a $2,000 lens.
I also always use a lens hood.

I really like redbubble. I ultimitely removed everything though due to the lack of watermark.

It's not just you. They approved my photos from the 23rd, but everything else, before or after, since the 21st is pending.

Wow, thanks guys! Oh, ldambies, how embarrassing! But, thanks for noticing - I really wanted a blog and got everything in order, I have a notebook full of topics - but so little time! I had no idea that once a blog went live the whole world would find out about it so easily. No optimization, no tags, no submitting to search engines. I thought it would be like my business... work, work, work to drive traffic - but, apparantly it takes little effort to bring traffic to a blog. (Maybe I should add one to my business site!) Here I figured I would write a few entries and then add it to my signature. How on earth does Lee manage such an excellent blog? So thanks for noticing, on your behalf, if I manage to finish designing several Christmas cards for clients this week - I'll try to update!

Finally there where it should be. Now if they would just review those photos from last month.... reviewed a bunch in the middle in a few hours and ignored everything else.

I had one too, or my earnings have bumped by .30. it's been several hours now and it's not showing up in my tally. Where do you find the info on the files and the size?

This is my first photo accepted anywhere in 06. It's a good thing they took this series, as the others were rejected and I may have given up before I gave this microstock thing a chance. This shot doesn't sell like hotcakes, but it generates a slow steady income. Nature photography does not give the instant gratification of the "pretty girl in headset" effect, but a good photo seems to sell regularily, and should never really go out of style. This one has an EL today on SS (YIPPEEE) and two weeks ago on IS. Funny that the only extended license sales for it in 20 months are 2 weeks apart.

Steve-Oh responded to a similar question in another thread. BTW, I think they are being more strict with property as well. Hi JC-SL (and others),
Yes. Just because a person's face is not visible does not mean they are not identifiable. As microstock matures and becomes more prevalent in mainstream usage, we are going to be a bit more strict when it comes to model releases.
Even though faces weren't visible in many of your shots, runners still had numbers on them, and there were other contextual visual clues that could easily make a person identifiable.
Thanks! -Steve

Sharpshot, this happened to me on Fotolia also about 2 months back. We (here) had a lengthy thread about the importance of unique passwords and safety when I brought it up.
One thing that is possible though, someone else may use the nickname "sharpshot" and thought they already opened an account at FT - then tried to retrieve their password. I had a design account on Istock in 05, but pixart was gone when I registered - I tried to retrieve my password when I wanted to start uploading this spring and finally realized that I was actually pixartdesign at Istock. So - the real pixart at IS must have recieved several similar e-mails.
Although, it raises alarms when this subject has not been raised in the whole time I've visited this site, and now you and I both mentioned it within a short period, and both times at FT.

Bateleur: I am looking for a Canon printer, I went partway through the checkout to see how much shipping is - I noticed that cameracanada ships offshore. I haven't actually purchased from these guys before, so it isn't exactly a referral. They pay a lot for print advertisements so I'm sure they are legit. Vancouver, I think. No paypal though, but quite a bit cheaper I think than you were looking at in Australia. $5499 CDN plus I think it was $162 shipping (with a bonus 8 gb extreme III - worth about $180) http://cameracanada.com/eNet-cart/Product.asp?pid=17009&type=Seems to me it was quite a bit more than that in Australia wasn't it? Still... how would you handle warranty issues?

I finally had a few sales at FT this month. Not as many as before V2 and before I reordered my keywords, even though I've uploaded about 70.
At first glance it looks good, but if you compare % 's to the other sites, it is stagnant - so nothing has changed for me at all, other than the upswing of the season.

I found this quote by Suvakov from Mostphotos in another thread quite interesting. MP and SS are such different models though with obviously different clients... I wish SS and IS would lighten up just a little instead of robbing customers of options. And they should really try emptying the crap from the bottom of their databases to make room for fresh images before they flat out refuse images. Today i bumped in to a customer on my way to the office.
The first thing he said was that he visits the site on regular bases just to scan the images. -"It is starting to look real good now and and the images are comming in fast now" he said. Yes, we are getting some nice images now ( i said "some" having the "bad images" discussions on my mind). The customer answered: -" It is not just "some" - the most part of them are really good and usable - some are even to good" I asked him: -" How can a image be to good?" Well, he said: "Some images are just to perfect, to fixed - we want good images but with that special reality feeling" - Okey, what ever makes you happy, i answered and smiled.
Let the every day customer decide if the image is good enough or not - all we can do is to continue to upload the best of our work. Customers repeat the same message over and over again: Let us decide. And we let them (for now) =)

Two days ago, I submited a big batch, of 175 images (LOL!), and 150 accepted, 20 rejected because of simmilarity. 5 because of focus. Not bad
How very brave of you! Thrilled for you that they were accepted.
