It opened in Contributor mode automatically for me.
Funny, and I just have to click reload in my browser to be back in Customer mode. Maybe it's their way to tell me I should rather be buying photos than taking them

Yeah, this is irritating - even more irritating is having to login each visit
I don't have to do that - have you ticked the "remember my login"-box?

Has anyone managed to have the new Fotolia site open in "contributor" mode, rather than in "customer" mode? I'm not able to do this, I also have to remind the page that I'd rather see my "latest downloads" and not my "bestselling files"... Also my "Sales for this week"-box reports only credit but not subscription sales - though they the total balance updates correctly - has anyone else seen this?

It seems like the changes will go in effect when Fotolia releases their V3 version of the website. Until then they pay the old commissions. Might be a reason to hope it will take a while to V3 :-)
If the introduction of V2 is anything to go by, than we better hope V3 isn't coming for a long time

I just received this e-mail from my dear friends at Fotolia: <<We've been hard at work for the last few months adding features to make the site more convenient for both contributors and artists. With this latest release, we're also revising our subscription plans to align with what's happening in the marketplace. As a result, prices and commissions have been adjusted accordingly. Please see details here. Here are some of the highlights: - To streamline the product offering for customers, we've merged standard and premium subscriptions into one product. - Vectors now count as 1 download in subscription plans - HD videos are no longer available in subscription plans, but web resolution videos are available, and count as 5 downloads. We encourage you to create and upload HD quality videos to maximize your revenue stream. That's because HD resolution videos will only be available for purchase through the credits system. Amongst the features you'll find in this latest version of Fotolia are powerful search faceting and filtering, which will allow customers to find the latest and greatest content, faster than ever before. Fotolia contributors have contributed over 14 million images to date, and we look forward to you continued support in our collective quest to become the #1 stock photo agency in the world. Sincerely, Team Fotolia>> The link to new commissions is here: ClickI haven't found out what the "streamlined" subscriptions are worth... Edit: Darn, beaten by seconds - and jm73 Edited again: Okay, now i got it: These are the new subscription prices - wow, lowered the standard prices and removed the "premium subscriptions" altogether. Way to go, Fotolia!

Oh, jolly good! After Fotolia V2.0 none of my photos could could be found except with the first seven keywords - this went on for almost a year. Wondering what they have in store for us now - ah, well, may you live in interesting times, no?

...So with all the problems I've had there, time and nerves I've lost, I consider this to be almost OK
I envy your patience and stoicism - if it wasn't for DeepMeta I'd given up on IS long ago

Uploading at IS is a bit erratic right now. DeepMeta takes three tries on average to get one file through. The failed attempts eat up your upload slots, so you have to delete the "Unfinished uploads" manually on the IS website... For the life of me, I can't understand how basic functionality like uploading can just fail like that in the middle of a business day

I continue to be very impressed with Shutterstock, and it just keeps getting better! Every day has seen downloads in the double-digits, with the exception of Sunday, and I just got an extended download which netted $28.00 for me. I've never seen anything even close to this kind of action on any other site, and it's so far ahead of the other sites that they're not even worth my time!
Not to rain on your parade, but what your are experiencing now is the socalled "Shutterstock honeymoon". New files get a boost in the search alogrithm at SS and new contributors get another boost on top of that - so in the first six to eight weeks after being accepted your files are selling like hotcakes. After that the "new contributor" bonus will be gone and you'll have to upload - feed the beast - to have continous sales. That being said, in five years in Microstock, SS has never failed to produce at least 1/3 of my MS income - which makes them a very good site in my book. Again, not to ruin your enthusiasm, just don't extrapolate current sales three years into the future and hold off ordering those Ferraris just a bit

I have written to support!!!! and I have an INVITATION!! but there is a freaking server error 500 on their server which is screwing up my Bridge.
They wrote back to me saying they gonna speak to the tech-dept, etc. Cant really understand this? its in their interest as well as mine to transfer some 1700 shots, some great sellers, etc.
Why should my Bridge be screwed up? havent got the time to manually do this myself.
I got my invitation yesterday, too and I had also problems going through their sign-up process. I didn't get a server error, it just got thrown back to the login page for customers, not submitters. For me the solution was to try a different browser (Safari on my IPhone, of all things) and voila, today I got the e-mail that my photos were sucessfully transfered. So if you haven't already done so, you might try another browser and/or OS...

Even worse. All my approved files are gone. I have 0 of accepted files.
Yes, same here. All photos that were accepted with the new interface are gone, the pics I submitted before are still there, though Looks like IS doesn't have the monopoly on f*ck-ups

It seems to be a problem affecting Jan 4th, when halfway through that day's notifications they switched from reporting sales independently of earnings to posting both together. When they added the earnings for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd, they removed sales that didn't have associated earnings from the 4th.
This is pretty obviously one more computing foul-up rather than a deliberate rip-off (they do the ripping off by legal means) but it is something that must be corrected.
Ah, okay - I didn't know the problem was specific for January, 4th - and yes, why would the rip cents off us illegally when they can take dollars by legal means

I just came across a post regarding a rip off on IS forums. A contributor evidently had 11 DLs on at least one day in the first 4 days, but got payed just for 2. A few days ago, when contributors reported the missing revenues for the first 4 days of January, IS said they will add the missing money for the first 4 days today, but did the opposite; erased the DLs that they didn't pay for due to a glitch.
Well my missing payment for a PP download on January, 3rd is showing up since yesterday - nine weeks after the fact - but at least its there...

What a funny month (not as in "Haha", but as in wierd): -) 123RF made more than Fotolia and Dreamstime together - my editorials are really doing well there -) Shutterstock delivered - no surprise there, with approx. 100 new photos -) IS held up pretty good, despite going down to 16% percent payout and their search not up to its best -) Only 2 non-subscription sales on DT the whole month -) Bigstock completely dead until the last five days of February All in all it was good February for me, the sum of my earnings is OK. The pattern of the individual contributions by each agency to this sum is something I've never seen before

Used to work with: 'name surname' but today I don't see my images too.
I just used "Real Name" and it worked as it always did Maybe it's double vs. single quotes?

It's interesting to see "management" in some kind of conversation with contributers after months of silence - or "Yeppers!" - at the most. Even if it quickly changes to: "I could tell you, but then I'd have to kill you" when it gets really interesting about long term strategy...
I think it was simply an honest reply. it's not a guarantee and frankly I would like one, as unrealistic as that is. but those posts calmed some of my more recent concerns. certainly not with hard facts, as facts weren't offered and that much was said, but, I respect the sincerity of the message that was given and repeated. I have an obvious stake in iStock's success as an exclusive. I admittedly want to hear that TPTB are aware of the value that iStock represents and that the iStock brand=its content/contributors above all else. so it was good to see that put out there so boldly. anyways. I expect a good deal of disagreement, which is fine. I'm just expressing my impression of the exchange. information about their investment in the future of iStock is certainly a better carrot than pennies here and there in pay raises.
I'm truly amazed about the amout of faith in IS that you're still able to have, given their track record in the last 12 months. And that is not meant as a personal attack, I realize not everybody is a cynic like me and I admire people who manage to keep a positive view on things. IMO, your main question, whether TS and IS serve two different markets or not, was not adressed at all, instead allusions 'to 'the future of our offerings'' were given. I'm sure Getty and H&F know the value that IS represents and that they have "no single reason (none) to set up iStockphoto for failure". They'd be crazy to do so as they are reaping in 85% to 55% of the profits. The questions remains if the bright future for IS will be equally bright for us contributors - exclusive or not...

It is a big mess though, but essentially - for the images that went from StockXpert -> ThinkStock, all those earnings are posted on StockXpert. For the images that went from iStock -> ThinkStock, those earnings are posted on iStock.
Exactly, and usually IS lags a week or so behind StockXpert in posting the earnings - so for January I'd expect them on Thursday or Friday this week...
