The question is, do we need agencies to sell?
I find this a valid point. If giving free is the point then anyone can launch their website and give their content for free. To monetize they can apply for adsense or offer subscription if they grow.

So I now see Adobes press releases everywhere, with people crowing about how Adobe is democratizing art by giving away images and footage for free, effectively helping to put tens of thousands of us out of business.
I dont see any press releases about Adobe democratizing anything by giving away their software for free, though. Wouldnt that be helpful, if Adobe fought their competitors who make their software available for free by also offering Adobe software for free? I know creatives were really angry that Adobe switched to a yearly subscription, which costs people a lot more.
Weird that Adobe thinks people should pay more for their software and nothing for other peoples work.
To be fair, Adobe did pay the artists for submitting their content to the free collection.

Many years ago, I read a post in Shutterstock forum written by Yuri Arcurs:

It was a post in which he shared that he had reached 1000 sales a day in Shutterstock. Wow! It was incredibly motivating for me to know that there was someone out there capable of achieving such high numbers. I promised myself that one day I would reach that level as well. I reached that level many months ago, but I had not shared it with anyone. So today I share with you the sales of September 30th: My best day ever 😍. I hope it will be an inspiration for many, just as it was for me.

I use Adobe Lightroom with self built keyword catalog. Works fine and fast.
Lightroom classic or cloud based one? How do you keyword in that?

It is important that you have triple protection:
-On the one hand, your hard disks must be in Raid (Raid 1 is good if you have two disks, if you have 4 it is advisable to Raid 5 or 6)
-Then you must have an automatic copy in another disk that you have in your own office, this we have in Raid 0 to save costs
-Against that you must have it in the cloud, in case you suffer a theft. You can use Google drive or Amazon, depending on the number of images you have the costs will be higher or lower.
That's how we at Kraken have it, it's a good investment in peace of mind. 
What do you mean by raid 0,1, 2 etc?

I am planning to take backup and need feedback...
I am currently using external HDD but I also see there are lot of cloud service available.
What do you guys suggest? is it worth taking subscription or take external hdd backup only?

SS is complicit in destroying the industry, but unfortunately they will not die first. They're too big. The smaller agencies who can't compete in this price war, will die first.
You are correct, SS will not die first.. they have destroyed all the scope for smaller agencies. I am seeing daily low sales which hurts. I now hate the agency I used to love.  Started working on a backup plan now.

They are working blindly and have messed up a lot of things.
I have lost nearly 50% of my earning and SS don't want to care and do anything about it.
What really hurts is, there is no decrease in subscription package or any rebate in customer side, they have increased their own commission which makes me cry with a question why, why and why?
I have seen those 10 free images message earlier and it clearly says "The 10 free images are yours to keep regardless of whether you continue or cancel your annual plan."
What more to expect?
This industry is a sinking boat and SS will die at first.

Not that I know of, GL Stock was over in 2017 or so.

I requested them to remove my work a year back which they did.
But from couple of weeks, I am receiving emails about sale of my works. I emailed multiple times to their support but no one is responding..

LOTS of stolen work on etsy in my experience. Mostly know it for the number of DMCA take downs I've had to issue.
Oh, and sellers there know to dispute your claim and Etsy will let them repost, leaving you with the option of suing if you want to take it further.
Not a fan.
can you share some detailed experience of this? I also see lot of my works being uploaded there.
