My first was a Kodak Retinette - as manual as it gets with no built in exposure meter.
My next, well - the best I can afford!

Congrats on making it!
Would agree that they are fussy on noise and focus and sometimes tight cropping.
Anyway, good luk for many downloads.

I agree - the first one is pretty good. I only would send the 1st one. Horse is overexposed. Cat, at the edges you can see the shadowing of the lens hood. Dog, bad background.

Hi Michelle and welcome. Wish you all the Best!

At the moment there seems to be very little communication between the site and contributors. To me this is not a good sign!

With seemingly little in terms of sales, it now looks like contributors are beginning to stop uploading.

This one below I'm finding more and more of.
Your photograph did not reach our desired level of aesthetic quality.

Well spotted! and very interesting.
This trend reflects my dismal sales also. - What a slump!
The thing is - where have the visitors gone?

SS is in a way that beckons us as almost slaves to constantly upload work.
However, as we all have seen , there seems to have been some shift in new uploads producing a sales surge.
Personally, I dont pressureize myself - "What I can, When I can" and just let the sales take their own course.

Agreed! As competition grows for all of us each day with more and more photographers getting into Microstock, we must strive to produce quality. Numbers are not a lot of good unless they are of really saleable images. Quality - so less qusetions, more shooting of quality photographs

Same for me - plenty of subs flying around. Well I suppose they all add up!

She has an account, no port and equipment listed as "non". Does she have an account on that site and does she have a portfolio there?

I have some images there - not a great lot though. Could have uploaded more but decided to wait.
Personally I don't think YAY is presently sending out any real positive signals. Yes! there is not much patience amongst contributors. This is justified to a great extent as we are all here to make money and not to hang around waiting and waiting. This demanding attitude I feel arises from the recent "stings" people have had with new sites and thus the tolerance level has really come down.
Whatever way, it's now really up to YAY to convince us that things are on the up.
I feel (as this initial post indicates) that as the weeks and months go by more contributors are likely to drop off unless they see real action.
Time is not on YAY's side!

Now that would be something! But I wonder which BANK she has it in! Maybe her dad died and left her $12,000,000 and she needs your help, to get it out of her country

In my experience, you certainly learn as you go along.
You persevere - loads of knocks and rejections, but if you believe in yourself and your work you will establish yourself.

Yesterday on a certain site ( fairly well known photo selling agency) I received a personal message form a lady who wanted to "love and be loved" with email address listed for reply.
I thought it a bit odd and unexpected. How do you feel about this? I would have thought that this would be not encouraged on such sites.

With so many contributing these days SS can afford to be fussy. This looks like the future - It's going to push us all to raise our quality standards. I have many rejections on SS these days, they become very rigorous... I think that my new pictures are twice better than others before, but at now I have twice rejections more...

Do many of you have to clean your camera's sensor or have you got an effective anti dust system? It appears the Olympus still leads the way in effectiveness.

Right now it's just "Stuck" Slowest ever period at BigStock!

ok, thanks, but let me rephrase:
I would assume so. Surely that would be the norm.
I am member of US zone Fotolia (although I live in Europe) and most of my customers (well there has been 16 of them total, I'm new) are European. Am I equally visible to european customers in english language european Fotolia and US customers in english language US Fotolia?

I wouldn't hold my breath.
I don't see anyone reporting scorching sales there - least of all me!

Same for me. My zone is USA (although I'm in the UK. Didn't ever know I had a choice) and almost all of my sales go to customers in Europe. Might explain why I do better at Fotolia than most. My images are presumably cheaper than most.
