Personally I just don't pay attention to any posters who don't include a portfolio link. I just assume they are not serious Microstockers, and are therefore irrelevant to my interests.
Bad assumption.

IS is beyond joke and you exclusives are just funny...
Enough with the exclusive bashing already.
Let's face it, exclusives have a bigger stake in their agency and will therefore stand by istock unconditionally, whereas the rest of us are way beyond that idea. To the rest of us, it does seem funny to stand behind someone who doesn't even stand behind you.
I'm not standing behind anybody. This is a business, Istock is my agent, and it's a business decision for me to be exclusive. If/when exclusivity no longer makes business sense for me then I will need to change my business.
None of us have an idea situation. All of the top stock sites are taking more and more away. You may point out that SS is wonderous everlasting glory but it's a subscription site which few of us will agree is the best model. If SS is gaining and all other sites are declining for everybody go ahead and pat yourselves on the back. That probably means fewer buyers are paying for images over $1. Prices need to go up because if buying volume doesn't go up and all of the collections continue rapidly growing, at some point most of us will be looking at plateaued or decreasing earnings regardless of what sites you submit to and how many new images you add.
+1 Bravo

If you get money from abroad, it is exempt from sales tax or VAT as far as I know.

^^ I didn't understand what you are talking about exactly, but the very basic principle of tax is you pay taxes on what you PROFIT. No profit=no tax. If the tax was pre paid in advance by one mean or another you could get a tax return at the end of the month/year.

"...The terms interestingly also state they can keep any accrued royalties, which I had about $500 worth. Well, now I will owe taxes on money that shuttesrtock will keep..."
I don't see how you can owe taxes on money which was not paid to you. I can't tell from your profile where you live, and I am not a tax attorney, but I think I can pretty much assure you that if you live in the US you do not have to pay taxes on microstock earnings which you never received.
As is the case all around the world.

I only use checks as payout. It takes ~2 weeks for them to arrive (from the cut out date). if you are located in the US/Canada it would be faster.

signs do point to buyer migration as the cause. I agree this may be some of the cause but I also see many lower category contributor reporting good sales, and it has been suggested they are favoured in the current best match. It would make sense, if sales are down, for istock and Getty to maximise profits by favoring people who are paid a lower commission, thus more money for IS.
Thanks for that info. I haven't been on the IS forums lately. Didn't know anyone (other than Aeonf just now) was doing well.
Makes sense that IS would be shuffling what sales there are to lower canisters. They've already proven they will do anything, including sabotaging their business, to save a few bucks in the short term.
Also Franckreporter is doing extremly well.

IS exclusive at 30% BME with 1,850$ earned (1 EL) and over 500 downloads. 50% more then last month (which sucked bad) and 270% more then sep/2010 Working very hard on reaching the 35% RC goal.

I was told this by someone who has several inspector friends. Actually he himself is a member of this forum.
I have no way to verify this though, but if you ask me it does makes a lot of sense. Once again this has NOTHING to do with initial rating or user ratings.

No question at all. for 45K take the offer and don't look back. I wouldn't lose a minutes sleep over this decision.

When an inspector approves a file, the also assign a "rating" from 1 to 5 to the file (not to be mixed up with the regular "user rating" which don't affect anything). This rating has a great affect on best match placement.

but I don't think it should be free. You don't think healthcare should be free? Why is that? I'd consider it a basic right, along with education. But of course we're all commies here in Europeland ;-)
Actually I think it is an even more basic right then education. Not all of us have kids, we all need to be healthy. (Don't get me wrong I do think education should be free as well)

OT: If your personal health shouldn't be free why should national or personal safety be free for that matter ? (army & police)

Today seems quite dead but so far doing about 20% better then last month (which was horrible) but I still consider it slow (low RPI). MS is a tough bussiness!
LOL now it is tough? I remember you saying that in a few weeks you would be over Sean
If I said that I was surely being sarcastic (or drunk), maybe in a few decades

The real competition is net profit and not total d/l's, in that case I wouln't be suprised if Sean is higher up.
