General Photography Discussion / Re: Has Microstock made you a better photographer?« on: May 01, 2009, 12:46 »
Microstock has made me a much better photographer, no doubt!
Know more about Photoshop than I do about photography (no formal training). It would be a good idea for me to take some night classes at the university to learn more about photography basics or at least buy a good book. There are also a couple of photography clubs in my area that could be useful and fun. 330

Off Topic / Re: What would you do if you earned $10,000/month from micro« on: April 28, 2009, 15:57 »
Since $10,000/month is way more than I need to live comfortably, definitely would travel to all the places I haven't seen, maybe go on some cruises.

You upload the photo (with bleed built in) as a CMYK tif. Once it is uploaded you can choose a type template that will show how the text will look on on top of the photo background but I believe the customer can customize the type as well.

I'm pretty sure I remember that when you send the email to Tim to join he will ask you some questions and one of them is who referred you.

I've had two $5.00 sales in 4 months with about 30 templates uploaded. Would probably get more sales if I had about 100 templates but only add them when I feel like it. I guess I'm not very enthusiastic about it

Dreamstime.com / Re: Hell of rejections on "well covered..." blah« on: April 14, 2009, 08:09 »
My acceptance rate for DT over the last month is now the lowest of all the agencies. The same reason is used on all of the rejections "This is a very well covered subject" even on one-of-kind originals with nothing like it in the DT library. It is perplexing and frustrating and it would help me understand what is going on if the rejections made sense, but they don't. Maybe I should stop uploading for awhile?

General Photography Discussion / Re: The best way to photograph large panoramas« on: April 13, 2009, 12:55 »
Photoshop CS3 has an automated feature called Photomerge under File -> Automate. Just browse for the photos you want to combine and PS will do the work for you.

Dreamstime.com / Re: what about that refused files reason????!!« on: April 03, 2009, 07:47 »
All of my recent rejections have that same reason. They seem to have become more strict about what they accept lately. Also faster review time. I believe they hired some more reviewers? I am being very careful about what I upload now.
