Madelaine, but I don't know what other word they could use instead. Relase is an authorization... However make no mistake the big name ad agencies, and corporations know exactly what those terms means etc...However I can't say the same for the regular graphic design guy with a blog or mom and pop ad agency. There isn't much one can do .... and to be honest....the royalty free term around the world, is probably misread anyway.. And this is what it shows in Portuguese, translated back to English:
Information on authorization: No authorization, but this image does not require authorization. This image is available for commercial use.

"Alamy has it's own buyers regarding RM images. They've put RF just to keep with ever rising microstock offers and to be able to make some of their customers satisfied. That are Media Editors and not graphic designers as on microstock."
Are most of microstock buyers graphic designers, bloggers, individuals? Are Alamy buyers mostly Editors like Albert said? If so, are they the same buyers that shop on Getty and the other leading macros?

Hi, I got a question from from someone who wanted to license a bunch of my images on Istock, to use it 60x60 px in software. He said he was looking at the standard license as the software was a lite version that is "free"... I could be mistaken, as I always had the impression that images that will be incorporated in software require an extended license. Am I wrong? :oOh by the way ,nowadays nothing is really for free...Even Grandma's blog is full of google ads and affiliate links, and these free lite software version leads to full version sales etc.

I have seen some people in Portugal with stores... But I was wondering if there is even market for these type of products in Brazil, because of the price... I find it expensive and I'm in the US, I can only imagine the dollar convertion to brazlian currency it would be two times more expensive and plus the price of shipping...I also wonder how does custom plays....I remember my friend bought something from Japan, and it got caught in the fed/ customs, she had to pay an extra fee to get her stuff in the post office.
But I don't know, in my case I thought of making a portuguese version but I gave up on the idea... I don't think I can trust making a version in portuguese but i don't think I would get sales from brazil plus the piracy problem.
In any case I found a few brazlian stores and I was just laughing, because one had hello kitty stuff, and other trademarked stuff, and I'm sure the girl doesn't know what copyright or trademark is...but as you know in Brazil this happens lol

Well Maybe Rights managed is the wrong word for it... what would be the name for the model where images offered on an non-exclusive basis, but unlike RF, it has restrictions, by territory, usage, and term ? Wasn't it like that rights ready collection from getty when it first came out? After a while they began offering an option for exclusivity. LOL Non - exclusive RM? What is that?
Is there some half EL ?
LOL!
Well... I might be wrong, but such thing as non-exclusive RM is not something I know it exist.

Hi Borg, I'm also trying to find that out... It seems they have a "L" license, I'm wondering if that is for a non-exclusive but still rights managed license. Monica One more question?
Is it possible to put our photos as "RM non-exclusive" on Alamy!?

HI and thanks to the polite people who replied. SULJO, Whoever you are - sorry if you find my question STUPID. Did you really think I was the "new person" rejected on "YOUR" major Micros and, now want to go on Macros? " Is that what you saw with your "hidden eye"? I wonder where is that "Eye" hidden because is completelly mistaken! Suljo, next time just keep your RUDE comments to yourself, some people may be offended by your words. -monica--- PS.: english is my second languageWhat a stupid question?! If you have eyes, and understand what you are reading you will find it...
You sure know how to make people feel welcome around here.........
-Don
Yeah I feel that I know. I want to bee wrong but with my hidden eye I see that this new person was rejected on our major Micros, and now is interested in "big" money...

If you do RF with Alamy, or non exclusive RM, what are the other agencies (not micro) that you send images to?

« on: May 05, 2010, 21:21 »
ahahahha i didn't realize he was being sarcastic LOL that's quite funny!
okay, I asked because in some places my new images seem to get more hits and downloads, and after a while my images get burried and get no downloads etc..
so if at least you know what keyword the customer is searching, etc, that's is a good thing...

Hi, is Isyndica a good option to upload vectors and keyword etc as opposed to use the Old FTP and do one by one in each site? Monica

HI sauron...
I agree that 20% is not enough....My accountant laughed at me when i said I only get 20% from a distributor .... I don't like exclusivity , unless is RM. In some places if.you become exclusive, you can't even sell rejected images or give images away from your site for free...
It seems only a few agencies offer more than 20%...However I'm thinking of starting to do some art for RM.

I see more and more copycats in vectors....
People blatantly copying the top earners....
There is an illustrator that I love, he kinda set a trend some time ago, drawing some beautiful "showgirls", and ends up, his style has been copied by others now ... I'm not talking about subject, or idea...I'm talking about artistic style... and every illustrator has a particular style, that is like a tradedress, with the exception of the ones that copy others...off course.
so I guess is a no man land now...that's really sad.

Hi, I've been looking for some photos of curvy woman and I can't find it. I was looking for plus size women wearing t shirts to use as mockup for a tshirt site and showing fashion poses like these: http://tinyurl.com/mh8dkfhttp://tinyurl.com/nfg7bnMaybe I can't find because I"m using the wrong keywords? what keywords should I use besides plus size, or curvy?

You know something,... many times that happened when I was looking for a phooto or something....I would select the photogo porftolio and nothing would come up... but I noticed that it would also happen with lightboxes..... I dont know if it was my ccomputer or a system glitch.... Yep , my portfolio is missing.
Edit- Well it's there and it isn't there - If I go to Account and click on 'View Portfolio' I get a page with no results
But if I go to 'My Uploads' and click on 'Portfolio' is shows up.

I thought the swine flu was more contained...I guess not? I wonder if they found an effective vaccine... I did talk to brazilian relatives today and it seems that is happening in a few big cities down there.. It is a scary thing...for sure.. with the aglomeration, lots of people in buses, subway, etc...
The thing in brazil, is that if you have to go get the tamiflu in the hospital you will automaticaly get exposed to other people with the flu... That doesn't sound good either...
