But they do suck! Actually they suck big time! A billionaire with a thin skin lol he could afford some courses but it's easier to deny the truth!
You think Jon Oringer actively searched the forum for things like that and got him banned? lol...
Don't be daft, of course he didn't search for it in the forums! Obviously it was seem by a moderator, who brought it to their manager, who thought to themselves... this needs to be brought to Jon's attention immediately. They probably called a board meeting or something.

Banned 🙋♂️. No reason given, violation of TOS but that can be anything. Cancel Culture at its best, they probably didnt like my public dissatisfaction and posts about their thievery so I got the boot 🥾 #shutterstockcontributor #shutterstockboycott #sstk #shutterstock #boycottshutterstock shutterstocknow
they have every right to legally make such changes,
I wouldn't be so sure about that and why stick up for such an unethical company? if it is legal it should say in the T&Cs that they have the right to cut pay rates but it doesn't. I don't why you say that they do have the legal right.
As explained by others, it does say it in the T&C's. Stating facts doesn't mean I'm sticking up for a company. I could have said "you're right, they're breaking the law and you should sue them" to make you happy... but that would be a lie, and potentially costly advice.

Seriously - was that directed at me? I typed what I thought might be an issue from previous discussions but I didn't look up something somebody said months ago and copy and paste.
Not you, Zebra... the top listed name is always (well, should be) the person being quoted. Ok, he did remove the email bit and the 'reset to zero', but he had already mentioned those in the thread. I guess imitation is the highest form of flattery, but still... slightly weird! https://www.microstockgroup.com/shutterstock-com/anyone-whose-money-has-not-entered-paypal(ss)-yet/msg561219/#msg561219

Not yet
How can we do?
Make sure your tax forms are up-to-date.
Not got mine yet. Paypal, over the minimum, tax info up to date, no refunds, correct Paypal address in my account. Does say the 15th officially (even though it never is) so will give it a week and drop them a line.
Slightly weird that you've copied and pasted my exact comment from a previous 'where my money at?' thread to answer somebody. .. but hey, you do you.

Yeah it would never be allowed in the EU... that's why we're all getting 80% royalties and a $5 minimum, right?

Should be legit, did mine a few weeks ago and all authors have to do it at some point. Was just new authors to start and now they're doing existing authors.

BME... which is not a term I've had the pleasure of using for a while! Have been uploading more than usual in the last 6 months or so, but still... 30% up on my last BME. Won't be surprised if next worth is my WME though... I get quite a few ups and downs there.

Yeah, if you're receiving pennies then I don't really blame you for not being a fan of iStock. I make hundreds of dollars there, so sounds like you're doing something wrong. Might be worth taking some courses on composition, technique etc... and doing some research on in-demand content.

LETs SHOCK them all by leaving that unfair agencies!
' Like everyone 'shocked' Shutterstock? Yeah, I bet they're still reeling from the less than 1% of their content that was removed (and replaced within a week) and the almost trebling of their share price.

Super important question which hasn't been answered yet... are royalties calculated per individual download, or as a total over the month? And do you round up (unlikely), or down?
Because if it's on an individual basis, and you don't round up, then any subscriber who downloads enough images for us to be just shy of one cent... will result in us earning nothing at all from them. And if there is a huge demand for content as you say, then if every subscriber downloads enough content for us all to be just shy of one cent on every download... nobody will earn anything at all, ever. Apart from Adobe who ends up getting 100% due to rounding... like in Superman III... kind of.
Also, what happens to the stock portion of a buyers subscription if they don't download anything during a month or billing period? Is the 33% shared with contributors or does Adobe keep it all?

Then we are honoured by your presence. What went wrong though... why did you stop being the best quality contributor?

I keep forgetting it's the mollycoddle generation.
Are you referring to the Silent Generation, Baby Boomers, Generation X, Millennials or Generation Z... and how do you know which one umdash9 fits into?

If the agencies are squeezing every last penny from our work then we may as well too... and the market is going to do whatever it is going to do whether we upload to x, y and z agency or not.
Yes, if every single one of us stopped uploading to one specific agency then that one specific agency will shut down, but that's never going to happen. I mean, Shutterstock saw less than a 1% drop in content from the supposed boycott which had been replaced by new content before the week was out.
Our influence on the future of stock is a lot less than you think, and whatever the future looks like it's going to be dictated more by buyers and agencies than it is us lot.

Easy. Being a patriot is paying for insurance. What happens in other countries is the communist agenda of the left, and the ANTIFA is the problem, not the fascists. They have assumed it since childhood.
They are Americans. The richest country is in macroeconomic terms. In quality of life, they are the last in line. But 70 million Americans, feed them the flag. Three jobs, and pray that there is no unforeseen event, the broken washing machine or fixing the car.
Despite not enjoying adequate public services. It is a matter of the education received at school. We closed their debates 40 years ago in other countries. Coming home, living one more day in the USA, is a matter of luck. Of course, they think that we all want to be Americans.
When they are born in the USA, they can see life go by, without leaving it, they already have everything, they are Americans. Many have already been questioned, if the USA is the ideal country to live. Borrowing three lives for the university and a series of circumstances, which simply, for people who live in a zone of peace, are simply incomprehensible.
Half the population does not listen to the news. A person without information is vulnerable. This goes for decades. They have assumed that the communist agenda wants to end their system of freedom. There is a waiting list of the lucky ones who can grab dual citizenship, USA and Italy, with a double passport.
People always vote with their feet when deciding where life is better. Fact is that the US is leading (by far) the world ranks in terms of immigration numbers, and that's even if we only look at the legal immigrants, and despite the exarcerbated populist anti-immigration rethoric we witnessed for the past years. Swaths of people from all over the world are still leaving their country, their famillies, their friends and their old life behind to move to the US. Many, many times more than to any other country. So... it can't be that bad, after all
About 150,000,000 people went to see 'Furious 7' as well, but it doesn't mean it was any good!

Was that a joke or are you serious? You recommend SS and IS, two of the lowest paying video sites on the planet.
If ss and is make 25-30% of income in big portfolio why give it up? Also, there's big community of istock exclusive authors who live from istock and, I'm sure, they wouldnt agree with your position about their only stock agency 🙂 I also can recommend storyblocks. But I'm not sure if they accept new contributors.
This is excellent advice! Although I've never seen a professional telling someone to ignore advice from another professional.
It's not professional to give up part of income. But he gives advice about this 🙂 When you live from this, you should maximize income. Istock and ss make weighty part of my income and some people, that I know. If I recall it right, maybe it was you, who wrote something like this in another topic: "until agency gives at least 1$ why give it up"?
Dayum straight... never quite understood people who go out of their way to earn nothing. It's like... "I was earning $1000 a month which I was happy with, but now I'm earning $250 a month which I'm not happy with, so I'm going to remove all of my items so that I'll earn $0 a month, which I'll be happier with than earning $250". Does not compute.

My plan is to just work more hours, try and keep up with the percentage increase of content on the agencies for as long as possible. Should work for a few years, and hopefully it will give me time to come up with some kind of super-duper After Effects template (or two) that I can live off for a while.

Well Coca Cola probably don't make much more than 10 cent a piece, and they're not doing too bad for themselves. If they ask you how much you earn (and you're happy to tell them)... tell them how much you earn. They probably weren't all that interested in your net income per sale!

I wouldn't specifically advise them against it... but I wouldn't encourage them to do it either. Best to explain how it works, but manage their expectations, so they can decide if they want to give it a go.

But what's the ID number of your image? If it's less than 12m and something... then you uploaded it first.

So you would have been on pace to make more this month than you did in March of last year, if your files were still available for sale on SS? Interesting.

Yeah the current ID number for new stuff on Adobe is about 400m. I know it hit 100m in the middle of 2015, and the guy you linked to, his image is 12m something. So he uploaded it quite some time ago... was it before you?

Can we expect your quantity of posts to decrease once your suspension is lifted on the SS forums? And how long have we got left to go... just out of interest?
