Portfolio size: +115%
downloads: +290%
earnings: +350%

2016 was just my 2nd year though and it's in a growth stage compared to many established portfolios.

December continues to surprise. Just when I thought it would fall below FT, SS continues to stubbornly perform better.

What can I say, 2016 has been very good to me. I expect 2017 to be another great year and handily outperform 2016. I wish a Happy New Year to everyone.

And what is your alternative, not having your work anywhere?

Newbie Discussion / Re: How am I doing - sanity check
« on: December 26, 2016, 14:05 »
Put a focus on commercial work that sells. Every contributor who has a camera take everyday and travel photos. That stuff has been done over 10000 times by everyone else.

Look at public billboards, advertising and websites and see what type of imagery they use. Those are the stuff that sells, not everyday photos like leaf textures, rock textures, trees and generic urban landscapes.

Fairly decent day all things considered.

« on: December 23, 2016, 12:31 »
I think SS finally fixed the search again. Saw some great sales this week, with 2 massive days that will probably push it over FT again this month. Talk about an early Christmas present.

I think next year is going to be a great year. With the search back to normal and no spammers to compete with, sales will continue to improve.

Adobe Stock / Re: Emerald Contribution rate more more cash?
« on: December 21, 2016, 18:07 »
Emerald status is a less than a month away. I'm looking forward to setting my own prices for some of my images and see how they perform.

Let us know if you see a drop or rise in earnings.  What was true back when FT ran the show may be different with Adobe.  Hopefully so.  I turned emerald a couple years ago and had the rumored drop in income even tho I didn't think it would happen to me,  but past few months I am seeing income from FT/Adobe improving, so maybe it's changed, like gyllens said.

I'm still a few weeks away, but I'll keep you guys updated. I probably won't know the results until months later. If there is a dip compared to current earnings, it's going to be pretty obvious. I hope it's not true.

123RF / Re: Any Signs of Life?
« on: December 16, 2016, 12:10 »
I've been seeing steady growth on 123RF. Last month was the best month I ever had and it was a 20% growth over the previous month. This month is pretty decent considering it's December.

Download numbers are up today. It's not back to pre-thanksgiving levels, but it's 20% higher than the last couple weeks. I wonder if they fixed something.

It looks like this guy's portfolio is gone with the exception of 3 images.

FT for sure is going to top SS this month. Great month for FT so far, while SS is tracking 15% lower than normal. Probably related to whatever is happening to the search/missing images in portfolios.

General Stock Discussion / Re: How was your November?
« on: December 01, 2016, 01:29 »
Yep.  Worst since first couple of years in the business.  Since some are reporting great sales it is probably search engine related.

The search engine change at SS did a lot of harm actually. The last 8 days were lousy at best. Here's to hoping SS fix it before it gets worse.

BME on FT & 123RF.

Thought FT was going to surpass SS this month, but SS pull it out in the last few hours and beat FT by $3 dollars.

You speak the truth. Another BME  ;D

Ok, let's test it. I see one of my files on page 1, 2nd position for "popular". Keyword "hare".

This is the image:

Same result. West coast, US.

I'm definitely seeing a pattern now. There is a drop about 15-20% in downloads. Search results seem to be consistent in the (West Coast) US and Europe, so maybe they made a change in Asia or elsewhere.

I'm very confident to say that my FT earnings will easily overtake my SS earnings for November.

Whats the point of leaving it. Never know, someday you might be hacked or sth...

Anway, DT is totally dead for me.

Took me too years to get there. Not sure when is the next time I'll make payout again. It's only $100. If they get hacked, it's not a big loss.

Two years!! In that case it might take me ten, haha!! What size portfolio do you have? I have 450 but have been slowing adding to it. They really should reduce the payout figure, even Alamy have reduced theirs.

I have 70 images at DT. I haven't been uploading to DT much and focused all my efforts on FT, SS and 123RF. I feel like 30 minutes spent on the other agencies is 10 times more valuable than 30 minutes spent on DT.

Made payout for the first time a few days ago. Not sure if I should cash out or leave it there and let it keep accumulating.

I guess I'll cash out because the USD went up significantly. Another sale: now it's $99.91.

I was stuck at $99.xx for a whole month. Hopefully you'll see payout next month.

Photo Critique / Re: Do you think these photos should sell?
« on: November 28, 2016, 22:51 »
It should sell if people want to buy it.

They look nice, has artistic value, but may not have that much commercial value. The majority of your sales probably came from about 10 images. The washed out look makes the images look dull, whereas bright, high-contrast images gives them a more commercial look.

If I'm a tourist website and I want to highlight Jasper, Alberta, should they pick your photo over this one?

Ask yourself that question, cause that photo is your competition.

I'm seeing a drop of about 15-20%. I'm still not sure if it's related to the day after the holidays or the search change. I'll have to wait a day or 2 to know for sure.

I did a search, and the search results are the same as always in my region (West Coast, United States). If there is a search change, it must be in another region of the world...maybe Europe or Asia.

He's got some good work, but the spammy titles has got to go. If you're on this board, please change it before you get kicked out by SS.
