lol. It's certainly a loud, hot embroidery machine. I think after he's got all the paths set up and stuff he archives them as .dst? ... I can't be certain, it's been a while since I've been down there. I just know that when sending him stuff .eps or .svg were the only things he could import.
I think it's funny that when we talk about codec standards, graphics standards, CDs went through many standards as DVD tried a few more, embroidery or vector standards, there's always a long list that comes from each company or software having their own version of what's right, or trying to control how we work by making their "standard" only work with their software, products or machines. Or at the least makes working with their standard difficult for others. What kind of raw do you have and why does it change? Obsolete standards are more and more difficult as they become impossible to open and use, without old software or computers. I think the why to EPS is simple that more people can open and work with that and have. Doesn't mean it's better, just that it's most used and universal. PDF is definitely more universal, free software to open and read, used for documents, has security and portability pretty much any device can read them. I wouldn't know how to extract a vector or insert one in a PDF?

I like "Growing the Ecosystem" are they going to plant trees from the profit?
I think it was that particular piece of egrecious, fatuous corporate gobbledegook which make me post the OP!
Luckily I'm out of the world of management/corporate speak now! SS are full of it now probably because their sales are flattening out and shareholders need to be kept confused.
Who? This was about Getty wasn't it? Getty who owns IS and has more debt than income, who ripped the heart out of IS for shareholder and H&F investment profits, then dumped us all on the ground. Cut commission, changed RC, pulled editorial, and bled the company dry. Now they have the dry carcas with some new ESP system that pays as low as 2 cents. Did you really mean SS?

I will believe there is a profitable deal when money arrives in my account.
Until then, I will remain sceptical.
Getty has given us all kind of exciting announcements over the years and usually the result was that we lose money.
I don't see them making any claims that this will benefit us, the contributors, other than a bit of IP protection.
Just wait, the global licensing partnership is more than protecting rights. You don't need a partnership to drop a lawsuit or disagreement. Somethings going on, we just don't know what yet. Considering past history with Getty, it's not likely to benefit us in any way, only Getty.

Everyone can do better but statistically 5th or 6th is in the top 5% of sites at least. Excluding video its probably top 4. So not exactly a basket case. The poll is a handy guide but no statistician would take the results seriously for all sorts of reasons...sample size is tiny for example
A small sample can reflect a large group within the margin of error, and be pretty accurate. Who is in the sample group means much more. We have volunteers taking the poll and many if not most, ignoring the poll. People who volunteer is not a way to get a valid sample group. A hypothetical way to get an interesting result would be have a requirement once a year, January 1st, for access to the forum, you must answer the poll. That has problems too as a forced poll some people might just click and go, not trying to give honest answers. But there you are, a big sample of all people who come here, once a year.

I almost posted this under iStock but checked first. While the most of the message looks like a settlement and win for Getty, in their view, or how we should be happy, no click image, larger protected message, what about this?
"In addition, we're announcing that Getty Images and Google have embarked on a global strategic partnership that will see deeper integration of Getty Images world class imagery across Googles suite of products and services. We will work closely with Google to improve attribution of our contributors' work and grow the ecosystem."
Getty partners with Google Images, that sounds scary as hell.

Even more important than the race to the bottom is the fact, as Zack mentions in his video, the total ignorance of (amateur) photographers about model releases and the possible legal problems arising from the commercial use of those not-model-released pictures.
I didn't know such a terrible place existed. Work for free for exposure and all rights except to compile from unsplash are irrevocable and unrestricted. Who would upload for not even a promise of exposure, which is worthless in itself. Credits appreciated but not required. Are people that desperate for attention that they will upload for free? What happened to the social media sites that offer the same?

I still haven't received an reply from days ago when I emailed them.
Guessing I probably won't, until we get a random "Exciting News!!" email newsletter sent out or something.
Its all feeling very iStock...
Exciting news, we have simplified and consolidate the commission levels for you so they are easier to understand. They are 7.9 now on the poll maybe somebody can come back next year Jan. and see how our earnings have dropped, while 123 makes more.

I purchased CMSAccount's standalone script, the Lite version. So far, I really like it. The reason I choose is because of the design and the Exclusive feature. CMS replies to emails in within 24 hours.
I didn't receive any replies from Ktools. Even the guy KTool_Jeff here in MSG, didn't respond to my PM either.
Last active February 06, 2013 I don't think he saw the PM. But they should have answered on their own site. Discovered the forum I'll read that. http://www.ktools.net/forum/Report back Jeff how you like CMS after using.

Cheer up Yada, you made your spot with hard work! We all have an opinion, that is the great thing about this forum. Everyone has different ideas on what goes on "behind the curtain" but we are all in this race together. (I hope I don't come off as a cry baby from your earlier post, not sure if that was aimed at me?)
Yes we are all in this together at different levels of effort and income. There are always the big talkers about how they are so wonderful and the rest of us are not. I think it's insulting when someone answers a question, to be taken out of the thread subject and bashed. Also that makes every new person, with earnings not what they used to be, a target for the same attacks. Nothing was aimed at you.

A major company seems to have complained about a photo of the Doha skyline which shows their tower. It happened 5 years ago but I just stumbled over "photo deleted because of copyright complaint" by company XYZ in my list of rejected files on canstock.
Unfortunately, I didn't receive any notification besides the cryptic message in the "rejected" folder that I never bother to look at.
As far as I can make out, the complaint is that in the picture their prominent logo has been deleted from the top of their tower, depriving them of the advertising impact of putting it there in the first place.
I've wondered for a long time about the legalities of altering bits of commercial architecture like that and had, in fact, held back that photo for a long time because the logo seemed to me to be an integral part of the skyline - but someone else then posted an edited picture of the same thing and was getting sales I could have had so I decided to upload after all.
Anyway, it seems you can run into problems from deleting logos, as well as from not deleting them, which may be of some interest. Perhaps the best solution is to submit such material as "editorial" and let the end users decide whether their use is likely to offend.
How did you make out that removing the logo was the problem. And you're right, we are forced to remove logos, now if this is right, complaints for removing what the agency wants removed. No win is it?

Back to the OP. I don't know why you would need VR to do it, but teaching people who have been locked up for a long time since their teens how to function in the modern world seems like a good idea to me.
If it worked that would be good. I'm not sure that people change much after a life of being criminals living a way of life and belonging to a segment of the population that claims individual culture over society norms. The 15th Amendment to the Constitution granted African American men the right to vote by declaring that the right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any state on account of race, color, or previous condition of servitude. Although ratified on February 3, 1870, the promise of the 15th Amendment would not be fully realized for almost a century. Through the use of poll taxes, literacy tests and other means, Southern states were able to effectively disenfranchise African Americans. Southern States means Democrats. They opposed integration, education, bussing to equal schools, voting rights and everything the Liberals claim they stand for. That's the big lie. Democrats favor control through welfare to gain votes. They have played this lie to the limit. "... The higher the education level, the more likely they are to vote Democratic," Democrats want to tell us how they know better and are more educated. Facts, Government benefits, and the percentages of those who voted Republican or Democrat: Public Housing - 81% D vs 12% R Medicaid - 74% D vs 16% R Food Stamps - 67% D vs 20% R Unemployment Compensation - 64% D vs 25% R Welfare/Public Assistance - 63% D vs 22% R And we wonder why Democrats are trying to continually increase the scope of government programs. More votes. Why are the Democrats against free choice for school? They want to keep their control and the public schools that keep people down, instead of allowing charter schools and freedom of choice for parents of minorities.

I t looks like this for me
Nothing like what my page looks like. Let me guess, new interface rolling out. Best Match is usually the same as Popular, but popular isn't popular as any of us would imagine it could be. If what you see is the future, hardly a loss, unless someone made a search and wants best match, or most popular. That's different from, just looking at my portfolio and seeing best match, asking myself, to what? There's no search term just my whole collection. Nonsense either way. Now maybe they can fix most popular to be something that makes a little sense, instead of an unsold new photo being on the first page.

For the first time in months by weekly ranking is higher than my all time. Algorithm change, conspiracy or have I just got lucky
My weekly rank is higher than my overall, lower number, but I don't watch that at all I don't know if that's the usual or something new. I looked because you asked.

I also prefer Fotolia for uploading. However, if Adobe introduced custom video thumbnails it would be a game changer.
Why?
Because most of the time the auto generated thumbnail picks a a really bad poster frame.
Pond5, Storyblocks and even Getty let you choose a frame from your video as the thumb/poster frame so it can't be that difficult.
Better thumbs, better sales.

How does this "disabled period" affects your image ranking once it came back online?
Hm today sales regular, like any other day. It's back to normal
Good to hear, just like the being back is good to hear.

Shutterstock is stirring their algorithms to spread sales out among contributors. The idea being to continue to take in money from sales, but not have to pay out as much, because no one contributor will make enough for a payout for a long time.
You left SS still. How do they make money from spreading sales or delay payouts? I make payout every month.
Commissions owed are not an asset they are a liability. Sales commissions appear on the income statement, typically listed as an operating expense. The income statement starts out with total revenues, then separates out the cost of goods sold to provide the gross profit from sales. Below gross profits, you list your operating expenses, which include wages and commissions due to employees. Accrued commissions, those that are owed to employees but have not been paid out, also appear on the balance sheet as a liability. The agencies can't use this money, it's not an asset it's a liability. That's why they have lowered payout limits so they have less liability. There's no gain to capping low earning people, below the $35 limit. It's a empty claim with no logic or advantage to the agency. I propose to rename this board from microstockgroup to microstockconspiracygroup
Try to get rid of one and another will show up. It's easy to make claims and find impossible or illogical conspiracy. Then anyone who explains why it's not true gets tagged as a ghostbuster and ridiculed. What should happen is people could remember who spreads these false rumors, and tag them as unreliable gossips.

Flash news, I got my portfolio activated. Reason why they disabled it is - fraudulent purchases. How many, they didn't tell, they will pay me once they figure out ... So, its good news in the end
Good news. Seems anyone with a fake credit card could close down the competition by targeting people with similar. Good that SS figured out it wasn't you that did this. My question is, why would someone buy 12 EL from the same person and series? Watch for use and watch for stolen images sold by someone new. 12 ELs makes no sense when they could have stolen them with a sub or lower pack price.

Hi, About a year ago I had my account terminated by mistake by SS without any notice from them (no email, no warning, nothing). I panicked and sent them messages both on the support form and forum. It took almost a week to get an answer from them, and they finally put my portfolio back online.
- Time to understand what was happening: 2 days (when they terminate a portfolio, images are disappearing gradually every hour) - Time to get a reply from SS: 1 week - Time to get portfolio back online: 3 days (the same as when they terminate a portfolio, when they put it back, images appear gradually)
In total I lost almost 2 weeks of sales because of this event, it was a super low month.
And still, no excuses from SS, no compensation for the lost sales, and mostly: no notice at all before or after it happens. You are alone in front of a huge company that doesn't consider you at all...
I really want SS to fight all kind of bad behaviours (thieves, keyword spammers, money laundering, ...) but they do it with occasional collateral damages which are terrible for normal contributors.
They never answered or told you why?
