Suljo, you're doing just beautiful and I'm happy for you!
Congratulations!

Now let's look at my stats :
Dreamstime
    Sales 340 / 392
    Uploads 253 / 392

iStockPhoto
    Sales 449 / 450
    Uploads 369 / 450

See that? Sales at IStock?
Out of 450 people with IS info, I'm  at position 449 :)
I'm the last one, this is depressing :)

No, this is not about the money.
At least in my case it's not.
I registered 3 days ago (passport and all), and today I uploaded my first images.
To get the bonus you have to activate it.
And I didn't.
I might do it in the future, but for now I only wanted to help.
New site, better commission, I thought to give them a chance.
Apparently there's more going on here and I have a lot to learn. Nobody likes the DepositFiles connection - thank you FD for pointing that out to us.
However I find it hard to believe that anyone would go to such lengths just to get their hands on (yet more) illegal files.
I can only hope that the people behind Deposit Photos know better than that, and wish they'll be around for a lot longer than 2 months.
And by the way - the upload process is a breeze, inspection time a matter of hours and those thumbnails look beautiful.
Why ruin all this work?
I'm staying positive. For now.

Hi DepositPhotos!
Last night, (before reading this thread), I went ahead and registered.
It's fast and the 0.20 cent bonus is great, (thank you!), but this is not where we're heading. As your contributors we wish you well and want you to succeed in the long term. We all know it's not easy.
A few points to make.
The site's web designing is top class. Solid, easy to navigate, fast loading time and pretty to look at. The larger thumbnail view is one of the best I've seen so far.
Images look great and that's very important, well done!

The bad news is the broken English. Fix it as soon as possible or all your beautiful presentation and hard work is worth almost nothing.
Correct the faulty grammar and do not capitalize words mid sentence. It looks amateurish, unprofessional.
Designers are a Picky bunch and this just doesn't feel Right, if you know what I Mean :)
Look at Dreamstime! They're Romanians, my most favourite agency and one of the best in world. It can be done!
Wishing you all the best,

StockXpert.com / Re: Bad things about to happen ...
« on: November 16, 2009, 14:43 »
I'm fairly new, only started doing micro 3 months ago.
Let me see if I got this right.
Getty wants a share of SS's subscription market.
To achieve their goal they firstly remove 3 million perfectly good stock images from StockXpert.
Then they urge contributors to re-upload them all, only this time via IStock.
My port is small, no big deal, but what about photographers with large portfolios and thousands of photos? They are the people who really make this business work. Will they agree to do it?
In return for their efforts Getty promises to pay 0.25 cent per download. 5 cents less than StockXpert and no chance for an increase.
Never mind IStock's upload limits. This whole affair doesn't feel right to me.
For the time being I'm going to follow Epantha's advice. Try something else and stay opted out.

Hi,
I like the site, solid design, fast and pretty thumbnail processing (at larger view), well done!
I like the commission as well - makes me feel valuable, and I like the 'mobile sales'.
Good idea!
All in all this sounds good to me and since STX - Photos - Jupiter deal is closing down tomorrow, I'm going to try this instead.
Let me browse through the manuals and I'll get back to you.
Good luck 'Deposit Photos'!

I'm a newbie to micros like yourself and I like your blog!
I'm going to subscribe.
Thank you for posting it!
Congratulations on IStock and best of luck!

Hi CC,
I know you resigned. I read your post that very day and I thought you were brave. I admired you for doing it.
Have you seen 'Revolutionary Road'?
'It takes courage to live the life you want' - they said and I agreed. You did just that.
And I'm going to stand my ground. You are always right :)
If there's anything we (little people) can do, count me in.
And just so you know, I resigned as well. Couldn't stand them anymore.
Best of luck,
Andrea

Hi CClapper,
you are never wrong. Not ever.
It's almost funny how I always agree with you :)
In this case (Fotolia's Ground Level) your always being right is unfortunate, but still spot on.
Such is life, unfair, and there's probably nothing little people like me can do about it.

Hi,
for the past 2 days I tormented myself trying to decide which referral link to use. In the end I couldn't decide between Adeptris and RacePhoto. Thank you both for your helpful posts, hopefully there will be other times in the future.

For other newbies or interested artists - I registered 6 hours ago and this is how it went:
Registration process takes less than a minute and it's the quickest around.

Upload system - you need to install a dedicated plug in but it only takes a few seconds and it's the best I've seen so far. It's fast, live, and very visual. I'm impressed.

Editing files - uploaded files are called 'objects' and need to be 'created'. All keywords are imported; you only need to choose categories, but they're not many and it's easy.
All files can be edited/deleted at any time.

Inspection times - once 'created' files go live instantly, straight up on the home page. I think they're marked 'Editorial Only' until they pass inspection. Again, this only takes minutes.

Paypal payments are automated, sent monthly with no minimum balance requirements.

Commission is 60 per cent and makes me feel valued.

Views on 25 files, 6 hours online, 127!

Stats and reports - all sorts, instantly generated.

Everything about the upload process is easy, fast and runs like clockwork.
Well done Matt, I'm impressed!

2 Suggestions - larger preview thumbnails? Community forum?
And one quesion - what kind of files are 3D artists mostly looking for?
People? Objects? Isolations? Textures? Cars and weapons? (your blog) :)

Tell us what to shoot or draw and let's try to make some money,
Best wishes,

Hi Matt,
for the time being that's good enough for me.
When it comes to magic, leave it to the Irish Leprechauns. They're not famous for nothing :)
I'll be joining the site in the next few hours and many thanks for your quick reply.
Best wishes,

One more question regarding illustrations. I understand that at this point in time EPS files cannot be uploaded. But what about the converted, JPEG files? Are they OK to upload? Do you need such files?

361
Hi Matt,
I like you, I like the site and I want to join.
But I'm from Ireland!
I can give you all the legal info you need, Social Security number (called PPS number in Ireland), passport scan, Paypal, etc but that ITIN number seems like hard work. A lot of running around.
Any updates for contributors outside the USA?
Many thanks,
