I got it a few minuts ago...

Me too. Thank you.

I found something on SS:
If i search one of my last images by entering keywords:
- i found it in the "new"
-i don't found it in all the others ways (relevant, popular etc.)

According to SS this is not a bug - indexing of images for relevant and popular search takes longer time. And I think that only images that appear in "relevant" search are visible in Catalog Manager. Disappeared images is another issue.

353
My last approved batches on SS disappeared (again). Obviously I'm not the only one. It may be reason why images are not mirrored to BS.

Has anybody already received payment via PayPal in April? Thanks.

0.24 USD for L subscription. This is not higher royalty than what I am used to.

After reading of comment under the article ("Thanks for that. It's tough to track down some of the sources for these images, they get scattered over the web so easily. I'll be sure to update the descriptions.") I thought it was published on April 1st. Unfortunately it was not. It's just unbelievable. I'm sure that Jonas Jensen would be very pleased.... It reminds me of Obama poster copyright issue.

Old but interesting thread. It's difficult to predict as I'm not sure what's the lifespan of microstock.

This poll's results indicate that Dreamstime Inspectors/Process is the worst; does the reverse stand true -- Big Stock inspectors are the best?   ??? ;)

For me BS reviewers are really the best. If they reject exceptionally my image, usually they are right. At least they give me exact reason of rejection. No "we don't need this image",  "We have reviewed your file and this is not quite what we're looking for" or "We are not interested in this image."

General Stock Discussion / Re: Allyoucanstock Sales
« on: April 04, 2012, 06:50 »
Same here... a few sales right out of the gate and nothing since then.  I have two theories:

1. when we upload, since there are very few people uploading, our pics make it to the front page, so they get a lot of views (well, a lot for AllYouCanStock.com, anyway).  That gives us our best shot at some sales.  Then we fall off the front page and no one sees our stuff.

2.  Didn't the site owner admit that he himself is buying some pics for promotional or other use?  Could it be that he's buying some stuff from each of us to get us excited so we spread the good word and keep uploading? There's no downside for him until he has to make payouts (we have to reach $25).  If things really pick up and we get over $25 with sales from real customers, he can afford to pay us at that point.  Until then, no one gets paid and he's not out any money.

I'm almost sure that theory no. 2 is correct.

I just found out that PD accepts images of iMac (on homepage) or Apple Remote Control - no, it's not for editorial use only. Apple logo is removed but I would hardly find anybody on this planet who wouldn't recognize iMac.
This is what I call incompetence, not rejecting of similars.

Accept Getty in "Partners Management" and wait.

General Midstock / Re: Zoonar now distributing through Getty

It is required however, that your submitted photos are not already on sale at Veer or Corbis.
I'm afraid that Zoonar contributors are the ones that upload their images to 15+ different sites and 99% of them also upload their images to Veer.

365
I send zipped eps + hi-res jpg to Yay too and it works.
"...if you wish to use a JPEG for IPTC data you can zip a jpeg and eps (or svg) together and upload that and any IPTC information found in the jpeg will be put on the entries on the describe page."

366
And the winner is... Crestock.

There can be some "warnings" sent by SS  - so I think emphatic warning would be enough if someone has problem with one or two images of entire portfolio.

Seemingly OT:

I don't like this "risk-free" approach to business at all. If my client doesn't make a payment - it's only my problem, I have to pay to programmer and other suppliers by agreed time anyway. It would be easy to say: "I'll transfer money right after I get money from client but it may not happen" - but I'm afraid that I wouldn't find anyone who would like to work for me.

Pixmac / Re: Is Pixmac Worth It?
« on: March 06, 2012, 02:16 »
1 - 2 downloads a month.
I believe that Yuri or MonkeyBusiness reach payout every month. I have no idea about their monthly overall income but I estimate that my earnings can be 1-2% compared to theirs -  it means I'm close to zero at Pixmac.  :)

I had a problem with vectors approvals on SS since I bought CS5. When I opened saved files in script or text edit EPS10 looked like CS1 file and therefore they were rejected. I had to contact support several times - now they are approved without problems.

General Stock Discussion / Re: StockFresh surging?
« on: February 26, 2012, 05:32 »
I haven't paid much attention to StockFresh lately.  I typically just check my sales once every few days, and see a handful of sales a week.

But today (a Saturday, no less) I had a nice surprise at SF.  Nearly $10 today alone.  Looking back over the past few weeks, it appears that the site is picking up steam.  I've seen close to $30 in earnings since Feb 15, which seems to be about where the trend begins.

Anyone else experiencing this?  I wonder if SF has been stepping up its marketing these past few weeks?

Same here - still only few sales but February is definitely my best month at SF.

Yesterday I downloaded trial of Perfect Resize Sofware 7. I'm not decided if it worth hundred dollars yet, but you can try it.

New Sites - General / Re: Zoonar - EPS Files?
« on: February 23, 2012, 04:33 »
Have recently added my port to Zoonar and so far I am happy with them, even had a nice sale already.

However, in trying to add EPS vector files the other day, the Zoonar-generated previews are horrible (all fluro colours etc). So I asked Michael from Zoonar for suggestions and got this response...

"the simple through is, that Im not really an expert for EPS files. " (think he meant 'truth', not 'through')

And thats it. That was the whole email in response to my questions (other than hello, goodbye). No help whatsoever.

So my question is, does anyone else have experience uploading EPS10 files to Zoonar, how do you do it, and can you upload your own preview image?

Thanks in advance guys.

Same here.  I haven't found any logic. Some previews are terrible - look like saved to eps 8 with preserved paths and selectively discarded transparency. Others are surprisingly correct  although they are almost identical and use same amount of transparent objects. As it is not easy to delete images with wrong previews from Zoonar I stopped uploading vectors there.

There are the sites (like DepositPhotos) that have enough money to pay to contributors for uploading. And there are others that can't afford it and they prefer pretending sales and that are buying images themselves to make contributors happy. I think that it could be the case of AYCS but I have no problem with it .
