I'm getting strong sales from SS and P5 this month, meanwhile VB and Dissolve seem to be heading south for a couple of months now. Is their honeymoon period over. I'm not inspired to upload anything to them at the moment, especially considering their pricing strategies.

I'm 100% stock but need to figure out a way to double and triple my income. The problem is it takes time to get things done.

I always wonder why non-US people pluralize "stock" and "microstock".
I always wonder why Americans always say 'erbs' instead of 'herbs'. At what point did the Mexican influence filter through enough for the H to become silent?

2016 has only just started! The first half of January could be expected to be slow

You need to send them an email an explain how long you've been waiting. I've done it twice now and both times it got quick results and the content went live

I just lifted the price of all my 4000 videos to $79. Many of them were $59 but why undercut SS and other agencies, VB being the exception. If you price at $10, $20, $30 or around those kind of paltry sums, firstly customers will know you are an amateur and may look for better footage. Secondly, you won't last long in the business because you don't value your work and you simply won't cover costs.

December seems to be by far my worst month, which would seem logical. It that the case for others here?

One good one, or 1000 bad ones.
1000 bad clips could in fact get you one inadvertently good clip, so $500 for the one and $500 for the rest, which is still $1 / clip, which is horrible.
I think you'll find most people would be very satisfied with $1 per clip/month. I fall shot of that however I'm fairly sure I'm well above the average of what contributors make per clip/month. I have almost 4000 clips of large variety so have plenty of figures to go off.

I reminded Leaf and he has added it now. It would be interesting to see where it will place within this current list.
yep, you can vote on Getty now but no one has yet!
I have the past few months

I don't see anything wrong with the photo. A large percentage of photos are rejected for reasons that don't make any logical sense.

I think it's more likely to be an agency. Anyone with 50,000+ quality clips of their own would be making a very nice living indeed. I agree the pricing is way too low. I bumped my minimum prices up to $59 and if anything sales have increased.

So, the payment status showed they were supposed to pay me by October 15th....and now that the date passed it was pushed to November 15th. No emails about tax issues or anything like that.
Any idea what's going on?

Exactly the same thing happened to me. I'm going to give this agency a few months. If it doesn't work out I'll delete all my clips

I uploaded a large batch a few weeks ago. They would still be there now but I sent them an email politely requesting they QC them. A day later they were assessed. That's the second time an email has prompted action for me and I got the heads up about this from someone else on the forum. It works!

video sales fluctuate a lot, however 1 sale a month off 500 clips would suggest you are shooting the wrong subject matter or else other people are offering better clips on the same subject matter
I have a wide range of subject matters. Given what I read from another thread, I realize that my prices may not be competitive enough. But I am not going to compete with people who sell for $5 or $10. I'd rather focus on unique contents.
I wasn't talking about price, I was talking about clip quality. With any subject that's already been shot, we all need to look at the opposition to see if our own clips are of the same standard or better. People who shoot normal (non-action) footage on a GOPRO for example will generally struggle to compete with the same footage shot on a quality DLSR or video camera. I personally have a minimum price of $59 on P5.

I wonder if SS entered a permanent dead season with footage when they came up with the genius 1000 video for a few pennies scheme at BigStock. Thankfully they haven't loaded much more than 100,000 videos however the damage may have been done. Either way my footage sales are on a downward trend and I think SS had dropped the ball somehow.

I'm wondering if anything is selling at the moment. My photos and especially footage is runnung less than 50% of an average month.

I think the first thing Dissolve should address is making a decent contributor interface, with sales details, balance, etc. Dissolve is the only agency that doesn't have this type of resource for contributors yet they still feel the need to take 70% and begin a price war.

What I've noticed about this is that when the questions get too tough and when the contributors are unhappy, the agency rep goes AWOL or comes back and answers with generic responses instead on answering specific questions. Dissolve you have some answering to do otherwise you will be receiving a lot less content upload and the upshot is competitors will go to other agencies with more substantial coverage

There is no such thing as success on Alamy. Hopefully you are making your photo money elsewhere and the photos you have on Alamy are the ones you don't have a home for. If you can cover the upload, description and keyword time through sales then you are doing OK. Alamy cannot fund a trip especially now with the ridiculous image numbers 30% of which are similars
