I had a BME at 123rf in January and am approaching another BME there for February (crossing fingers) based on a portfolio of 124 images.
I have been using the "Fav" feature and images that have been faved have seen increased exposure and sales. Mark 353

Cameras / Lenses / Re: Canon 20D vs. Rebel XTI / 400D Body« on: February 20, 2008, 16:45 »
I had already thought of that ... but there is a difference between what people are currently paying on eBay and what people here on MSG ... THINK that they should pay. I am asking people here on MSG for their opinion. Thank you for yours ...
I have been watching various models on "Craigs List" as I will most likely buy my next camera locally. The second part of my question of my post was my question about what is currently thought about the 20D in comparison to the 400D / Xti ... That question still remains ... Mark 355
Cameras / Lenses / Canon 20D vs. Rebel XTI / 400D Body« on: February 20, 2008, 16:31 »
What are you thoughts of a fair price to pay (Craigs List) for either the Canon 20D or the Rebel Xti / 400D?
Also any other thoughts on the 20D as my first DSLR body would be greatly appreciated. I have read everything that DPreview has to say but I want to know from the people here at MSG ... Thanks. Mark 356
Dreamstime.com / Re: DT going to 12-month minimum commitment??« on: February 20, 2008, 16:03 »
If I understand it correctly commissions at DT are tied to the level of the images. The higher the level the higher the cost (for the buyer) and the higher the commission for the contributor ...

Thanks Sharply_Done. I will pass that information on to my friend who it appears really bought more camera than she would ever need. I will admit to my friends and my own ingnorance on that one as I thought any camera that had an LCD would have that capability ... thank you for telling me the 400D does not. I had not heard of the Rebel Xsi. I wonder if that's a 450D? in Europe when it comes out?
Any other comments about using the 400D / Rebel XTI's for my first body are welcomed ... Mark 358
Cameras / Lenses / Canon 400D / Rebel XTI« on: February 19, 2008, 14:22 »
Hi all. I am seriously considering the 400D as my first body for a DSLR set-up.
I know it has an LCD but can it be used for other than to review what you've previously shot or other than for the menus? A friend says she has this camera and she's never been able to "view" what she shoots on the LCD (however, she's technically challenged so I imagine its just her not having gone to the manual to figure out the right set of buttons to press or menu settings) If the camera has this capability ... could someone please let me know the steps so that I may pass them along to her? Also any information about your experience with using this camera for stock would be appreciated. Mark 359

Photoshop Discussion / Re: So you are a stock photographer ... Do you have stock images you can use?« on: February 14, 2008, 23:11 »
Bob,
I for one find real beauty in your creations and I am proud to say that I am a recent pupil / disciple of your website. I have always found photos that appeared to be almost "mystical" in nature very pleasing. Yes ... they may be more appropriate in art galleries, or sell like a food shot when it comes to stock, but they are absolutely beautiful. As a former architecture student, I love structures and landscapes. I also love nature ... These aren't the best things for stock photography and I realize that. I am also a real computer guy so I love all aspects of "Digital Photography" and have no problem running all of my photos through photoshop for at least minimal post-processing. iStock can keep their standards and that's fine for me. I'm very happy to hear that your work gets accepted at most other places ![]() Mark 372
