Here are my stats this week: position 5060 with almost 700 files.
Pretty slow week, I've seen my position already dipping below 4000 in the past.

this is strange, this position with these earnings with only 700 files, contents can be as good and powerful as you want but they are only 700.

How long have you been a contributor? Is this your first year or have you opened your account 10 years or more ago?

How's the review time for editorial photos? Quicker than commercial?

usually within 24 hours.

I don't know if it counts, you got the red card for protesting,I got the red card for nothing,I was just working.

Istock kind?like I said:"digital vampire with a nice face!"  :D

an email from Adobe? And what should they tell you if they don't know yet, nothing is sure since the case has just started the procedure.

also seems logical to me to think that there would be no point if everything was too fast and too simple to solve.
All resolved in 48 hours or a week,so who cares about breaking the terms?

Innocent until proven guilty I don't think it applies in this case,I believe it is fairer to also block the money during the verification.

However,Adobe is constantly evolving,so things could change.

as I said,if it happens to me I won't even come here to say anything,I will continue to work and produce, and when they unblock me I will already have content ready to send.

I'm not worried because I follow the rules, and if I make a mistake or something happens outside of my control,I'm more than sure that Adobe will evaluate it in the right way.

It's not pleasant for anyone to go through something like this, but if you don't act intentionally, you only have very short-term consequences, and that's what matters.

then each of us has our own point of view, this is mine.

best wishes to everyone!  :)

I,on the other hand, think that if what happened to me with Getty/Istock had happened to you,you would think differently.

is totally unprofessional and completely unethical the way Getty/Istock treats loyal producers, not Adobe.

but you can't know because it hasn't happened to you.

do you know how Adobe works,in your opinion,if there was another way to do this Adobe wouldn't apply it?

If you can't afford to have your account blocked for a month or two on Adobe, you can imagine if I can afford it.

Believe me,it's better this way than Getty's modus operandi.

Unfortunately these are procedures that take time, but at least with Adobe in the end everything is managed and resolved in the right way, just need a little patience.

but as I was saying you don't know the difference, because it didn't happen to you and you don't know it.

It seems serious to you to have your account blocked for a month or two,but there is worse, believe me.

Even if I share your way of thinking about loyal long-term contributors,I don't think this is applicable because it would mean favoring contributors to the detriment of others.

Do you want to know what I do if Adobe blocks my account?

I'll take a week off to start, and then I'll go back to producing normally,so when my account is unblocked,I'm ready to send a month's work.

yes, because mine, yours and any account blocked by Adobe is then unblocked in a month or two, unless it is a serious and intentional case.

you should instead be terrified of the digital vampire with a nice face!  :D

regarding the blocked money, unfortunately I believe it is part of the procedure, because unfortunately it could be money earned against the terms.

in any case, having your account blocked is certainly not pleasant,I wish all the unfortunate people the best wishes!

On valentines day I sold 16 romantic cards probably to the same buyer. They were all downloaded at the same time with the same price.

We were joking that this was maybe someone with many girlfriends.

If something like this happens now I will be scared!!

no..no...don't be scared of money!  :D

I don't think this is a problem,it can happen that you have chain sales,it happens to me sometimes, even small chains with 4/5 similar contents or many more, last year about 100 sales in 30 minutes, something that has never happened before.

I never contact Adobe about unusual activity in my account, simply because it's not my job.

sales come to me!I'm not afraid!  :D

payment received yesterday, requested on June 27th,normally Adobe pay much earlier, this time little late probably due to more payment requests than usual, for the free collection bonus,or upfront payment if you prefer.

383
Biggest thing that bothers me with iStock is 15% compensation rate.  It is downright disrespectful.   If you can swallow this,  they are still better than Deadstime

But do you mean 15% of 50 cents?  :D

384
Yeah, just like this,a digital vampire with a nice face! :D

385
My weekly ranking went up a bit after the $5 Free images accepted.

you are not human!  :D

It must be a great satisfaction,congratulations!  :)

386
What is really damaging to my port performance is the RPD decline. I'm not a high-volume seller but been making comfortably over $100 each week - that is until the past week and half. You can also see some downward trend on the attached trend line from 1 Jan to 9 July 2024. Too early to tell if this is perennial or temporal.

my RPD is good.

1.13 for June,it's not stellar,but it's okay.

what's not so good is the number of sales,it's barely acceptable,it's too static,it should be at least 50% more given my current portfolio, but above all it's been too long now that I always go around the same sales numbers.

for the moment I will continue to work with my head down, but I need to see an improvement in this sales number at least from September.

387
@blvdone
Thanks for your chart - as you can see this crash is not present for everyone.
I've seen a few charts from different people over the last few months and about 35% have the same trend as me.
A few are clearly going up and about 50% have a "normal" straight trend.

This has nothing to do with a conspiracy, but the effect is measurable and occurs in a good third of the measurement results so far :)

I'm probably in that 50% you say.

my trend is slightly upwards, but really slightly,in fact the 25% higher number of sales in June 2024 compared to June 2023 proves it,it's not much if you consider that an extra year has passed, but I guess it could be worse!

lately,Mondays are dead and strangely I sell more on weekends even more than Wednesday and Thursday, most weeks it's like this for me now.

I hope for a clearer improvement,I will evaluate in September,October and November.

for the moment I'm where I need to be,I'm halfway to last year's number of sales, considering a slight percentage increase over each month,I should end the year with more sales than last year.

388
I'm sorry about your experience on Getty, but unfortunately you backed the wrong horse.

I was lucky that I broke up with them in 2021,since then my earnings have improved,Adobe is a different story, even Shutterstock is a better agency than Getty and even Depositphotos is much more serious and helpful than Getty.

Getty is like a vampire with a nice face,it sucks your soul, and when you no longer serve them it throws you away with frightening simplicity.

Don't think that I don't know that the current situation is difficult in the microstock,I started in 2018,so not long ago,but year after year my earnings have increased, and as long as this remains the case I will continue,if ever my earnings will be lower than the previous year for 3 consecutive months, that will be the moment when I will have to stop.

this week is also a bad week on Adobe, but I'm not particularly worried, because it's all managed by the sales system, even if there will be billions more images,I'm pretty sure I'll continue to earn more year after year.

what in my opinion can make a difference is not so much the number of images in the Adobe Stock library, but more the number of new active contributors.

with AI,unfortunately or by merit, new contributors are increasing, this could perhaps represent a problem, because I believe it is more difficult for Adobe's sales system to manage an excessive number of contributors.

but AI still cannot create many types of content,or rather they can also do them, but not at the same level as real content, while instead they can do some types of content even better than real contents.

so in conclusion, for now I continue to work because I continue to see an improvement,if I ever start to see a worsening for 3 consecutive months, then I think I will stop.

I of course hope that this day will never come!

can you please confirm video free collection already passed for 2024?
If i understand correctly, the selection for videos has already been made?

I didn't even realize it because none of my videos were nominated, but anyway i started making videos more seriously a year ago.

so i guess just one round for me,vectors and illustration.

no,I can't confirm or deny.

as I said,I read in a blog that free video collection has already been done, but I find it rather strange, because normally the video selection on Adobe Stock starts in October and the payment arrives in November,so I don't know how it is possible that it is already done, since last year's free video content hasn't finished a full year yet.

so I think not,it hasn't been done yet,but I can't confirm.

Lately I've been getting more money from posting my content on Facebook than from selling it on Adobe. Time to say goodbye to microstock is getting closer..

How do you get money for posting to FB? Sounds like you're doing the right things.
There are a few different ways of earning money on Fb and IG - e.g. ads on videos, performance bonus and more. Availability depends on country, achieving specific reach milestones and on plain luck as some are invitation only. In the past I never would have thought I'd be saying I earn money by posting on FB, but here we are :D. My post was not about praising Fb though, but about ever declining Adobe earnings, which is the last microstock agency still "standing"

Thanks, that's interesting. I won't be doing FB, but monitizing that, is entertaining.

Yes, this has been said for years now.

This statement is nothing new of course, but I used to have hope -

This industry doesn't look sustainable at all.

I think I'm pretty much done with submitting - for a while it seems like a waste of time. Better to try something else - blog, youtube or whatever.

What's fun to read are new people, who come here, read and research, and still join and think there's some money in Microstock. Less and less, old people, are motivated to work for dimes and low commissions. Ten years later, if not 12, new people are still asking how to make money and what agencies. When it used to be 25 agencies, now we're down to maybe 4 or 5. For some people that number is ONE.  :)

So, I'd have to answer for the new people, how to make money in Microstock, is, don't start, go do something else. The boom is over, the rush has ended, the ship has sailed... the train has left the station!  ;)

yes, that's why in June I made 25% more sales in numbers and 110% more earnings compared to June 2023.  ;)

and if I look back over the years my income has increased by much more than 110%

the motivation does not lie in working for dimes or low commissions, but in the awareness of increasing earnings over time.

but in any case,if someone can find something else simpler than microstock, certainly better, making microstock is difficult and not for everyone.

"Your ship is sailing with the high tide
And all your dreams are on the inside
On the inside looking out"

Alan Parsons.

so out of curiosity,I did some research, the blogger was right about the price being 8 usd for the videos in the free collection,it has always been like this.

However,we're not there with the times,if Adobe has already made the selection for videos this year they were quick, because it usually happens in October/November.

it was just out of curiosity but for me it doesn't make much difference anyway, since I have much fewer videos than photos,I maybe can expect something from the free collection for videos nominations from next year probably.

392
Thanks Mat,I actually hadn't noticed.

it is obviously not possible to see if there was a payment for the free collection that you did not get.

I learned that there was already a video selection for the free collection reading a blog, but I don't even know if this information is correct, because the author of the blog claims to have received a payment of 8 USD per video, but I remember that it was 5 usd per video,so maybe I'm remembering wrong, but I'm still not sure if there was already a selection for the videos or not!  :D

393
I,on the other hand, despite all the negative results that I read from the experiences of many, still believe in microstock.

it's difficult, very difficult, you have to be willing to make sacrifices, many, many sacrifices, very little free time, late nights at work, yesterday for example I worked all day and then finished at 4 in the morning.

in my opinion it's not enough to just do AI or just photos or just videos or just vectors, you have to do everything, you have to do it well, and you have to do it in quantity.

if someone thinks that it is enough to upload a few thousand contents and then they can go on holiday for life, they are very wrong,it is no longer the case,it takes much more and it takes a lot of patience,an extraordinary patience,it takes passion and determination.

for me it's even more difficult than some, because my investment possibilities are really very limited, but this won't stop me,I'll make it!

Keep it up!  :)

General Stock Discussion / Re: This month's sales
« on: July 01, 2024, 04:23 »
Good month.

on AS 25% more sales in numbers and 110% more in earnings compare to June 2023.

but this is only what concerns sales, excluding the bonuses of the free collection in this year and the previous year.

if I also include bonuses in the calculation,my total earnings in June 2024 compared to June 2023 are only 10% more this year, because this year they have selected fewer photos for the free collection.

on SS seventh BME in 6 years of activity, therefore a good result.

An updated page of the new guidelines would be really helpful so we know what to avoid.

Anyone here can tell us what kind of content was removed?

none of you have the removed content in the pages of the rejected content section?

How is it possible to find out by ourselves only one or two images in 10/15 pages of rejections?
They are ordered with submission date. Really hard to find out which one(s) has been added to rejected

in my case, the content that was deleted a few months ago was listed among the rejected content, and I found it in 9 pages of rejected content, because i look at the reason why it was rejected.

in my case the reason was "remove audit:incompatible with terms".

now,I don't know if even in this case the removed contents ended up among the rejected contents, like I said,it happened to me a few months ago,and I don't even know if the reason is the same "audit removal",but most likely,I think you can find the removed contents among the rejected ones, there are only a few pages...i hope so,maybe someone has 1000 pages of rejected ones!  :D

a few months ago one of my contents was removed, the reason was:"removal of audits inconsistent with the terms"

on the rejected content page I found the content with this explanation:

"This content was removed for violating Adobe Stock's content submission guidelines. We have determined that this content is inconsistent with the Stock Contributor Terms on based on an internal audit. For more information about this policy, why this content was found to be inconsistent with the Terms, and your options for appeal, please see Content Submission Guidelines."

so what?I don't see anything strange or non-transparent,everything is very clear, the terms have been updated and some previously uploaded content no longer meets the new terms.

if the terms have been updated there is definitely a reason,I don't think Adobe Stock likes to update terms or remove content,
just for the sake of it!  :D

In my opinion "blvdone" did an impressive job.

There is a lot of work and sacrifice in generating and improving thousands of AI images that are in his portfolio, which was already a high-level portfolio before AI.

Furthermore,in my opinion "blvdone" was good because moved quickly, long before me and many others in devise, generating, indexing and uploading thousands of AI contents in very short time.

So credit where credit is due!  :)

You can thank me by PM me your dealer's contact information!  :D

Thank you!!!  I actually came in late in this AI game.  I started in September last year.  At that time, there were already millions of AI images on Adobe Stock.  I started the AI image creation because I felt threatened by those AI images potentially taking away sales from real photos.  I'm glad I started making AI images.  It's the only growth I see in stock photos now.

September last year was a great time to start uploading AI,it was until December, before whatever you did with AI you sold very easily, now it's already different,it's always a good time even now,but for sure it wasn't as easy as up until December.

the fundamental difference is in the time it takes them to sell, now it takes a few months before they start to take off, previously sales were often immediate after approval.

but you could tell me better because you have more AI than me,have you noticed this difference too?

I still have tens of thousands of AIs to send for review, can you believe I can't find the time?I'm too busy with videos and other projects,I have to get moving on these AIs,I've already selected some batches I absolutely have to find the time, maybe next month I will only send AI for the whole month.
