I got annoyed at being the target of an idiot who gave low marks to everything in my portfolio.
Now I don't care. I don't even check the site all that often. Only one sale on 700 uploaded images means that I am losing interest.

I chose to support Kiva. I heard about Panthermedia there on this board, and so the first money I earned there I donated to Kiva through this board. The next $25 I donated because I wanted to.

I love it. I use the Firefox plugin. I have found loads of my images in use, it gives me a real boost to see people using my images.

I have over 1000 pictures there, and I am seeing a dramatic slowdown. Even the surge after uploading has not happened this month.
But then again, I am seeing this across all the sites.
Looking back over the last three years, it was the same at this time every year.

I am happy with the way my sales are growing there, and not all of them are subscription sales. For a young site the sales seem to be growing at a nice rate. I have sold far more than I ever sold at LO!

I just noticed that Crestock has one of my images in the worst picture section. (A picture that has in fact sold quite well on other sites.) I have never been asked for permission to use this picture, and would not have given permission if I had been asked.
I would like to know what recompense Crestock are going to offer for using my image without my permission.

I have been trying to get my husband interested in photography. I gave him my 20d when I upgraded my camera. I thought nude photography would get him really interested, but when he went outside everybody pointed at him, and laughed at him and someone threatened to call the police.

That's a good one. I could do with a couple of new lenses.  I wonder if it will work on my husband, even though I have spent an awful lot on camera equipment lately. "A divine power urges me to buy a new lens darling." Maybe not, he would say I was listening to the devil!

And its NOT that bad, its great! Its fun and we are all enjoying doing it... if nothing else its a way to have fun with the tight-knit community we are. Its harmless, y'all! Why do people get all bent out of shape about it? Not going to join until its straightened out? That seems like a silly reason not to join if its a great site (it is) and its making money (it is).
Call me old fashioned but I always believed the main idea behind stock photography was to make money from your photos not to "have fun and be part of a tight-knit community" , if I wanted to be part of a tight-knit community I'd join my local photo club.

I never opted out, as I think that is cutting off your nose to spite your face.
The customers who buy subscriptions are not the same customers who buy single pictures. I believe SX is trying to tempt the existing customers away from SS, so the subscription sales are as well as single sales, not instead of.
I view the subscription sales as sales I would have had on another site, and would have missed if I opted out.

It's working fine for me. Pehaps your hard disc is dirty. Try taking it out and scrubbing it with wire wool. Should fix it fine.

I have seen just the opposite. I am having a great month at Fotolia. They are beating SS so far this month. That is the first time that has happened! I seem to be getting lots of very large sales, more than in other months.
The site is working smoothly here in the UK.
