Ive completely given up on released content now.
All my long-term, genuine releases now get rejected and for the money it brings in, im not going to get each person to sign a new one every single day.
You do not need releases for editorial content.
Im fully aware of that. It was a reply to the post above about releases getting rejected.

I posted this in response on FB, not aimed at Matt but AS in general.
The various FB groups along with other forums are full of people doing this. Actually asking for help in how many AIs they can submit before account gets flagged, what happens if they don't tick the boxes and so on.
There are verifiably, a large number of people, bulk submitting AI to the main collection without labelling. And its getting accepted.
There's no detection and no sanction for this.
(Yes SS and others have the same problem).

If you look around the unofficial FB groups they're full of posters asking "How many AIs can i submit at once without account getting blocked" and "Will i get caught if i dont flag as AI".
Huge numbers from India/Pakistan but not exclusively who may or may not be coordinated but certainly their strategy is literally create as much AI as possible and just shovel it in. Anecdotally, a LOT is being submitted as normal RF and not being tagged as such, deliberately.

Ive seen similar occasionally but not consistently.
At times its felt like an Alamy review with 1 sample image deciding he whole batch. Rejection is/was almost always "noise/artefacts".

Last week i had quite a few pictures of empty beaches rejected with "Translation Required" which all in after immediately resubmitting with no changes for example.
were the locations 'foreign' words? i've had that happen too - and for a long time had 'Newport, OR' rejected as trademark violation
From memory "Deserted tropical beach and clear ocean fringed by palm trees" Not sure what they want that translated into. Klingon? Sent from my SM-T725 using Tapatalk

Just test submitted a editorial from last week with Circa.
It got approved.
If its not recurring i'd be tempted to put it down to SS AI or reviewer randomness.

Contributors from EU countries are pissed off because they get their payment in US Dollar. They loose about 10 Percent of their income. Holy crap.
Whilst forcing payment for Adobe products in local currency. That's the part that really irritates.

they've been enforcing the all-caps requirement - maybe haphazardly. but don't think circa x was ever acceptable. they also reject vintage slide scans from the 70-80s as too old! non-editorial from those shots easily accepted, even if date was in the description
Circa has always been accepted (i have plenty using it). Their blog on writing a caption also says its ok:- https://www.shutterstock.com/blog/creating-the-perfect-editorial-caption

""Given our strong free cash flow generation and healthy balance sheet, Shutterstock is uniquely positioned as a technology company to be able to invest for organic and inorganic growth while also consistently returning value to shareholders"
Text book example of how to use lots of words whilst saying absolutely nothing.

2009 or so.
But my day job involves taking a lot of images, most of which i can use for stock which helps a lot.

you probably have a huge portfolio,at least 10,000 contents but probably more.
Its over twice that.

Assuming its showing total downloads of all time on AS (i think it is) then yes, about 1,500 of them.

Still undecided on these. I've got about 3,700 eligible assets, roughly 1500 of those have never sold on *Adobe* but many have elsewhere (several are best sellers).
3 more days of deciding then changing my mine and altering to go!

It's a tricky balancing act.
A few things:
- once something has been free it tends to be "in the wild" in large numbers forever more. This potentially affects future sales after that 12 months.
- Sometimes things sell well elsewhere but not here. Making it free could affect sales elsewhere.
- If you have similar images paid to free (but not the same) buyers might select the free and not the paid
Its a balancing act everyone needs to make for themselves and what works for one person may not work for another.

I guess the criteria are different? Previous years it was media with no sales (or recent) but this year ive got a LOT of them appearing with 100 or so sales on here previously.

Brilliant, another way to give away more content for less money.

Why isn't the original model release valid? Model releases don't expire.
This.
Theres no need at all for a new release.
In theory yes but im now finding the same rejections from previously valid releases. I've got a backlog of things to upload with releases 2020 and before. All of which now getting rejected. Ive also successfully used open ended/date range releases from the same person for multiple shoots (work colleagues) which were always fine but now also getting rejected. Seems they want 1 release per person per date which would mean asking 6 people to sign a new release on a near daily basis (which isnt practical). They tweaked the wording and policy and as a result means i now cant upload any (legitimately) released content.

I'm showing +$200 on May 2nd and had opted out of AI as soon as the option came available.
Not convinced this isn't a bug with some of the previous month's earnings not being reset.
Gnirt how's things going with MS... haven't seen you post much at all lately?
Still around, not a lot to post about as everything is same-same. SS RPD continues to plummet. AS earns more. Occasionally scan through here if i see something odd on my earnings.

I got paid the correct amount this morning for last month but May 2nd is still showing $200 over what the earnings say it should.
Definitely a bug.
Scroll to the right of your earnings summary and check if the extra $200 is reported in the Contributor Fund column.
Aha thats it. Had completely forgotten their website was so terribly designed it cant even render correctly on standard monitors. So thats $200 for something i opted out for as soon as it became possible. (and from that figure, likely abused a large chunk of my images before then).
