« on: April 18, 2022, 06:59 »
I had the same experience, all 8 videos (first uploaded 3, then 5 which both disappeared when submitting) are online now and in the reviewed and portfolio section.
(It took about 5 days for the videos to become visible and reviewed)

Seems to be safe to upload, you just don't see them in the "to review" section.

thx@deadly_splash:
It seems I don't have refunds yet, maybe it is because I do not have images older than 3 years at 123rf... or the refunds will come soon

Can someone put a screenshot in here, where you find that refunds?

Either I haven't had any refunds yet or I'm too stupid to find them :-)

Thanks

I only had 4x $0,35 in April so far - nothing below that until today.

The conversation went on and the last support response was:

"Hope your day so far has been pleasant. Thanks for alerting us about this, I realize that this situation is difficult and frustrating, but rest assured we will find a solution for you. I have reported this to the higher IT division and currently, we are investigating a delay/glitch in the upload/Pending process since we have several affected contributors again. I'll get back to you as soon as more information is provided.

Im deeply sorry this has happened to you. Its not the experience we wish to create for any of our contributors. Thank you for bringing it to our attention and allowing us to address it."

Btw. just 5 minutes ago again 5 videos disappeared from the pending queue ;-)

« on: April 14, 2022, 05:14 »
Just to let you know I got an answer from the Canva support:

"Thank you for your patience while waiting for our response.
We are a bit behind in reviewing the submitted images, but the team is working hard to bring everything up to date.
So we hope that the situation will improve soon. We ask you to give us a little more time to resolve the issue.
If you have any other concerns, please feel free to send us a message."

A lot of text with almost no information... typical support nowadays :-)

Just uploaded 3 videos for review today - all 3 videos appeared in the pending area and 4 hours later the videos are gone without a review.

And this is the answer from the support (if you want to call this a support):
"Thanks for reaching out to Shutterstock, Im sorry the website is not working as expected. To get things working again, the first step I recommend is to see if the problem persists while using a different browser to access your account.
If you are not able to change internet browsers, the next step I recommend is that you clear your initial browsers cache and cookies, and then try to access Shutterstock again. If these two simple steps do not resolve the issue, please check out this article for more detailed resolution ideas:
Troubleshooting Downloading and Internet Connection Issues

If you have any other questions, please let me know. I'm here to help."

I mean ... really... "Use another browser and clear your cookies?!" - they must be kidding...

Maybe they are just not reviewing images of "some" users like me :-)

Actually I am at about 1.200 images in the review queue and the last review was in early February.

Seems Canva is dead for me - another 3 weeks passed and still not a single image reviewed and of course no answer from the support.

Pond5 / Re: Pond5 Image rejections
« on: April 06, 2022, 19:16 »
Just to let you know, I got an answer from the Pond5 support:

My Text:
"Dear Pond5,

I just got my first image rejections on your site and all 61 images have been rejected (see email below)

My account name is: ###

Some of those images were surface textures, infrared motion maps, an old sign of a house number 8, an old window in a brick wall, etc.
Are those types of images forbidden no? Would this would mean most of my images would be rejected in the future?

I am a little confused right now maybe you can help me out.

Thanks, Michael"

Pond5 answer:
"Hello Michael,

Thank you for contacting our Support & Care Team!

Our Curators have determined that your submitted media does not meet our qualifications for acceptance. Pond5 strives to maintain a content marketplace full of high quality, risk-free media assets and as a result not everything that is submitted for review can be accepted. We only want to create a quality marketplace that our buyers can trust for their content licensing needs, and it may mean that your content does not meet our criteria for acceptance.

You should have received a message from the Curator regarding the files in question:

Hello, thank you for the uploads. Pond5 now has over 10 million photos in the collection, therefore we're scaling back on the amount of similar images we accept - due to the very high volume of similar content already in the library. Photos of commonplace things such as clouds, flowers, countryside etc are very saturated, so it is unlikely we will accept many more unless they are very unique or of an extremely high quality. If you have any questions please contact [email protected]. Thanks

Please understand that maintaining this high bar is in the interest of the entire community. We encourage you to continue to produce and upload the best content that conforms to our Contributor Guidelines.

We appreciate your understanding and hope to be reviewing more submissions from you soon!

Kind regards,"

I didn't expect to get an answer with any real information - but this is just a joke... of course I wrote them back, if they are willing to answer my question in any way ;-)

Pond5 / Re: Pond5 Image rejections

Whilst I shoot 99.9% video, I've got about 1000 images on P5 because it's the best platform to export Metadata CSV. However, in all the years I've never sold a single photo on that site.

Really hope they don't start saying the same about video though.
I have about 2.000 videos and 23.000 images online at P5, but only sold about 20 images there with and RPD of about $4.
I contacted the support to see what they are saying about this... we will see :-)

Today I had my first image rejection at Pond5 ever and they rejected 61 of 61 images - with the following text:

"Our team has finished reviewing your recent uploads. Here are the results:
Items rejected (61)

Curator comments:

Alamy.com / Re: Alamy sale for 7 cents
« on: March 31, 2022, 18:02 »
I am just thinking what will happen if I do not reach the $250 at the end of june... this will mean dropping from 40% to 20%... actually I am at $176 gross sales.

On that $0,12 sales this would mean to get 20% of 60% -> 12%.
Taking 12% of $0.12 means we earn $0.0144 per sale, which is even below some "connect" view on IStock O_o

Definitly time to leave Alamy :-)

« on: March 31, 2022, 12:48 »
They appear to have sorted out the problem, as the missing files just popped up in my portfolio this morning.
That would be great, but my files are still gone... example here: https://www.shutterstock.com/de/image/2133874589

Maybe they will come up later, as if there was a fix, this would take some time in a database with hundreds of millions of files :-)

Shutterstock.com / Re: Disappearing photos on SS?
« on: March 30, 2022, 19:37 »
Today some images disappered in my portfolio too.
I noticed that because of a sale where the image later disappeared - see screenshot below.

The image was originally at this link https://www.shutterstock.com/image/2133874589 - which is now gone.

I just talked to the support with the following answer to my question about the disappearing images:

ShutterStock:
"My name is ### and although I am not a Shutterstock employee, I am a Shutterstock expert and contributor and am authorised to provide first-line support and will do my best to help.
Sorry that you are having this problem. This appears to be a widespread system issue at the moment as we are getting many such reports. Shutterstock have been notified already so hopefully they will fix the problem soon. In the meantime, thank you for your patience and sorry for the inconvenience.
We do not have a timeframe for when the problem will be resolved but we do expect all content to reappear as soon as a fix is implemented."

And later in the dialog I asked:
"Thanks for your answer - so it is known that images are disappearing? Can someone tell me how many and which images of my about 24.000 files are gone?"

ShutterStock:
"I am afraid that is not possible as the issue is affecting thousands of contributors. It seems that the images are still in the database and that the problem is an indexing issue. We are expecting all images to be restored once the issue is resolved"

So there seems to be a bigger problem with disappearing content in the Shutterstock database.
Going to take notes now of my portfolio size for images and videos each day...

And there we go again... 50 sales today for $0.12 each ($2.86 in my pocket)

In my stats Alamy has an overall RPD in 2022 of $0,41 at 61 sales, which makes it place No. 7 for RPD.
It is time to leave them now :-)

Those downloads in the image, 14 of them are 1 time. Is that just for this report? Some show 4 times downloaded. It all looks like some big partner site that reported their first quarter uses.

No details on who and where, what kind of use?
@UnclePete:
I just checked all the $0.12 sales (times the amount bought) again and there is no additional information about the sales in any form.

Just what my screenshot shows in the original post...

Canva / Long review time - normal?
« on: March 23, 2022, 08:28 »
Hello there,

I am new at Canva (there since 8 month) and the review of my photos suddenly stopped about 5-6 weeks ago.
Actually I have 7.000 images online and about 1.000 in the review queue, but nothing was reviewed since weeks.

I already tried to concact the support, but nothing happened - how surprising ;-)

Anyone else with this problem at Canva?

Thanks@All

« on: March 21, 2022, 09:47 »
Last month, my Connect =  61 for $0.20271 or in simple terms? 20 cents or RPD .00332 per use 3/10th of a cent
I think people with better and more images, are getting more than that.
My "connect" numbers for that "pay per view" stuff in February 2022:
- Images: 30 views for $0.16, which is 0.53 cent per view
- Videos: 28 views for $2.77, which is 9.9 cent per view

Pond5 / Re: Pond5 New Agreement
« on: March 16, 2022, 09:18 »
I asked the support what the "changes" in the new agreement are and got this ansower:

The changes are related to our GPP and LPP programs.

We have removed paragraph 7, which previously referred to the GPP and LLP programs. These programs are now discussed in paragraph 3. This section has been expanded and the changes include the following:
Our ability to adjust pricing to maximize overall revenue performance (although artists may still set their own price upon upload).
Content may be added to subscription plans or other royalty growth programs with prices that will be determined by Pond5. These plans will be pursued for special promotions to optimize total royalties by targeting customers who we believe will make high volume purchases or commitments that include limited licensing rights.
Our ability to distribute and market content to global partners outside of Pond5.

Artists will no longer have the option to opt out of these programs as they did previously.

My actual numbers:
- foto RPD dropped from $0,44 in Q1/2021 to now $0,21 Q1/2022
- amount of sales increased by 11% in Q1/2022
- Video sales dropped to almost Zero - only 3 videos sales in Q1/2022 with an RPD of $4,68 (Q1/2021 video RPD was $13,24)

Shutterstock income dropped dramatically...

2021 top 5:
IStock: 23.98%
Shutterstock: 19.97%
AdobeStock: 17.27%
Pond5: 9.38%
Dreamstime: 4.77%

2022 top 5:

AdobeStock: 22,07%
ShutterStock: 8.66%
Pond5: 4.78%
Deposit: 4,54%

Hello Mat,

first of all thank you very much for the very precise information, which of course completely clarifies the question!
I was hoping to find an answer here before you sacrifice your time for clarification :-)

For some reason I had the 33% for all image sales in mind, which then would have fit very well with the sudden 1.06 sales - my mistake!

Thanks again and have a nice evening to all in the forum :)
