I think finally their changes and search result manipulations will bring them to disaster. They left nothing to regret for contributors. Another player will come, the place cannot be empty for a long time.

Well said "for them". And i think about myself. :-)

Yes they don't provide a selective opt-out. And i opted-out all. I think that working with Google i will loose much more than "lost" 2$ now. This will damage my business in general.

Verified that it is opted out. Will revisit this setting to be sure that it is opted out till decide to close account. Many years, but no regret

Created account to see inside. And decided to not upload any file
why?
For now i don't see selling potential. But my time costs. Previews can be dragged alone, sign to expect more problems, slow response on user action, few authors sold files, too much contrast in totals between authors who sold many files and majority didn't sell nothing during months, but there are not only beginners, but experienced photogs. No info about owners can be easy found. An author with more than 11000 "stocky" files and more than 50000 views didn't sell nothing from october when he signed up. For now there is no reason for me to send them files.

I am not a fan of mobile interfaces at all. But why to loose a client which wants to do an offhand gift for somebody? Yes there are situations when client will be satisfied by mobile size presentation accomodated with explanations about quality of image, even some postprocessing stories.

Collections themselves are not a bad thing. The bad is that the site tries to push visitor to use them even he started already with search. Pop-up comes after you typed key words in search field. As i mentioned, it is very difficult to close this pop-up on mobile devices. Not pleasant on laptop/desktop too because it is very big. ShadySue thank you for the advise i will suggest this in suitable situations. Greetings with sales and coming celebrations! About search enhancements - this is effective only with curation of submitted art, and curations is not a priority there too.

That is because sales by search results are not their priorities. Kind of a proof - the popup which comes randomly and only after user started his search, stopping the process. Popup forces or to search for close button or abandon your search and look at their collections/categories. On mobile devices popup closes entire screen and it is very difficult to close it. Last time i use my site at photodeck to show the portfolio. One of clients told that he has the same impression and he does not like when website dictates what to do. Same situation at Zazzle with popups and failing searches.

Now, it's possible they paid for the license and then kept the watermark to make a point, but hmmm....I don't know.

Looks ridiculous when exposed this way on website of such level company. They started to promote this stock site? BTW - agree with all negatifs to Windows 8. Set gamer user above business and stop Windows 7, which was much more usable for office. What means disable tablet interface then use computer - MS spitting in the direction of business users. Which sick brain sets touch screen interface as the main one on a machine which is not enabled for that? They were fired but who will count damage done to MS and users? Loss of time and already working business applications etc.

Sadly, the opt-out for subscriptions just gives me a server error. So I guess I will have to pull my port and miss out on those $1.50 per annum. Also, how does anyone think their site is well-done? It is neither designed to be intuitive nor is it technically sound (quod erat demonstrandum).
Try to clean cash, or use another browser. I tried just now and it worked

Thank you to all who sent messages. After comparing of 2 platforms i decided to continue with photodeck. The list of "must have" and "should have" for photoshelter was too big and even didn't come to testing of pricing system, because for this they need to introduce my card data during trial period. Some reading online prevented me to do this.

Thank you Shady Sue. I added some images back and tested with another account. Was something changed or not but now it proposes to contact first before download. Currently checking trial at photodeck. For both the same problem - cannot find how to remove social buttons. They are on every page, by default and i don't want copies go everywhere. Didn't hear from somebody that this helps to sell. Photodeck site sure looks better on all types of devices.

Received an answer from Jon that they do not distribute my images, and i could see that because i was logged in. They apologize for the worry caused. Anyway i wanted to see a demo, and i was on demo part of the site with their images. My images were visible as a part of this demo, with no warning for that. I cannot know what others can see and which functionality left active. Still need to think.

Glitch of business model, or software or all toghether - i am waiting from them too. I found this following a link to see new templates. As normal there were images which they used before (and hope agreed with the author or bought), and absolutely not expected that they will be then mixed with my fresh uploads, with watermark old, because i did a change to test. Clicking download button it was possible to get not watermarked image. In my trial site settings i didn't allow free doanload. I deleted all my uploads, but after refresh the image was still there. Saved a screenshot as a souvenir. Url was from template demo, not from my account. Really demo should not be mixed with no warning to user.

I signed several days ago for a trial account and today found that my images are included in their lightbox and templates demo and are available for not watermarked downloads. I sent e-mail to them and took a screenshot and currently deleting all uploads. To pay money which they want and just to give away for free the images? Nonsence. Damage. How it is possible?

New try. Why not? But please, fix layout. Plus previews are too big and watermark is weak.

Is there a way, that we can get the money, fotolia earned with stolen pictures? I knew many cases fotolia earned thousands of dollars with stolen content.
For me it looks like a part of their business-model. The thieves get 20% and fotolia takes 80%. The original author get nothing. Also the algorithm prefers new content. In the result the originals didn't sell anymore, only the stolen content works. They earn millions of dollars with stolen content.
Theoretical we can take the money from the thieves with the help from our lawyer. (But normally it doesn't work.) And it's not correct that fotolia earns money with stolen content !!!
(I think the other agencies are not much better in this case. Or...?)
Makes sense, especially if an Agency is a real owner of such account. Mass complaints about dropped sales...

good luck with experiments. The results of these tests are valid on sites where staff does not remove your work. On istock it is usual like to remove "broken", "abandoned" from broken window picture, and leave "construction".

I agree with Shudderstock; 1-5 per W is about what I do....with an average of 15-20 keywords per image; some have less and a few have more. I see so much keyword spamming that as a buyer I would be very frustrated. Describe the image with relevancy, throw in a couple of conceptual keywords if they apply, and be done with it.
No, cannot agree. If you don't spam but give decent desciption by keywords. This works on any site where they don't damage. Istock constantly removes keywords, especially which are directly describing the image and sales dropped. Support ignored my e-mail. None of images from my last months batches are searcheable by any keyword and visible for buyer. This is an old story, the first time i noticed this when sales of image with shrimps stopped and i found that word "shrimps" was removed. This year this problem returned. But watch it as an illustration for quantity of keywords and synonyms usage. Often keywords disappeared on shutterstock too, especially for old images.

Please give some comments on "Macrografiks may use the Content as provided herein without obtaining any additional consents or permissions or the payment of additional fees to third parties;". Sounds confusing to me.
