by the way if there is one institution with untransparant fees its the banks!

402
people may not like it,  but thats nit what they say,  they  say paypal is corrupt,  stealing,  hidden fees,  etc,  etc which is tinfoil hat rubbish

403
they are not hidden, 2.5% is the fee. Period . that's your cost. i think the fees are fair,  considering the service they provide

404
its not sneaky and they re not hidden. all fees are listed, been like that for years,  just check which fees apply to you and you know your cost to use paypal.  the Internet is full of people too lazy to check, they rather complain and accuse paypal. clueless

405
The important thing is: When you can use the money, like buy milk, what currency is it in? The conversion happens somewhere and remember that the PayPal fees are HIDDEN, it doesn't say: look, here's the fee, they just give you a bad exchange rate.

PayPal fees are not hidden at all. ALL fees are in the T and C you signed for when opening your account. don't blame PayPal for your ignorance

70 downloads in one week, from bad to worse , i am afraid the end for me is near, the decline is really rapid now.

407
i always wonder why people think using a service should be free, without realizing that without that service they would have to use cheques or bank payments and pay 10-100 times more to get paid.

i am happy paypal is around to make my life a lot easier when its payday

if the pile of crap that is added has appalling keywords, they are even more likely not to be found or bought, so more chance for my beautiful well keyworded images.

if the new images added are crap, why would that affect your sales if your images are great? in fact your image should stand out even more now and generate more sales

New Sites - General / Re: What do 500px actually sell?
« on: January 17, 2017, 10:28 »
Copidosoma, i pull my port from sites that screw me over, promising me 70%, i paid  contribution, and then get cut by 57% is insulting, ss paid 20 cents when they started, now they pay me 120 dollar, even though their commission is 30% or something, i dont feel the need to leave

what worries me most, lately i see a hard stop of sales around 6pm, i am based in the greater LA area,  i normally would have sales around the clock, although slowing down at certain times. but this stop i never had before.

never seen this before, abysmal, completely down the toilet, i am now down about 66% on my earnings if this continues

i find that you are better off buying a desktop  for photo editing, if you need a laptop to do serious editing and rendering, you need to flash the cash. there are no cheap laptops with high specs. people think buying an i5 or i7 will give them enough power, but there are so many other factors that determine the speed and power. i3 i5 i7 are just buzzwords. and get SSD, so much faster as HDD

as unanymous says, check the specs of the cpu, dont let the buzzwords blind you

if you are 9 years on shutterstock you were competing with 300 thousand  images then against 125 million now. big diff

I had a reasonably good start, made pay out on the 4th day, and now for 7 days in a row, I have not made over 8 dollar per day, never seen a run this bad, january has slow starts, but always pick up after the first weekend of the year. not this time, its really bad, if thousands of files cant generate more than 9 downloads per day. if they tweaked something, they tweaked it badly. if i am in some sort of test group, i hope the results make them realize this tweak needs to be reversed

Adobe Stock / Re: Non Compliant Content
« on: January 06, 2017, 09:31 »
it doesnt make much sense really, i had the non compliant rejection on a series of isolated model images. 80% was accepted and the others rejected for model release, same model release, which has never given me any issues, on any agency.

why would a model release become invalid half way through an inspection?

feels like istock dejavu all over again
