The model I can get my head around is where both the agency/service and the contributor make money out of the same thing. With this model, it appears that the service makes money by attracting more punters to pay more fees, not by selling more of my images.
I would love not to agree but without having it live it will be very hard to have other thoughts, I can easily think that perhaps 5 to 10 sales / month would pay the 40$ but actually we need to pay 480$ at once, it doesnt motivate us unless we have somekind of integration/beta period to see if it works or not that said I believe this could be a very nice idea (which could have been "done" by Yuri, but why would he?) honestly I dont understand why PE doesnt even want 1% of the sales, its too good to be true..

... btw is www.pocketstock.com different from www.pocketstock.com.mx ? as my images are not in pocketstock.com but in pocketstock.com.mx
My images only show at pocketstock.com.mx and not at pocketstock.com
I am with Veer so should I expect them to show up on pocketstock.com as well?
This is a huge mindf$*&.
Those two sites aren't related.
it does look like they arent but its so weird having the exact same company name

Coming out of my forum retirement for a minute just to say that I've had the chance to speak with Sean and I'm impressed with what he's doing. Enough so to throw a few bucks into the project myself.
Creative Warehouse is the real deal. Sean and his team know what they're doing, they've got great ideas, and I think they're going to do well with this project. They're not trying to compete head-to-head with the likes of istock. They're doing things differently, they know this business, and they are contributors themselves who know how to do right by the contributor community.
This is not just another microstock clone start-up. Creative Warehouse is going to be doing things that have never been done in this business before.
hmmm.. thats what we want nice job on the 150$ too

Look at the right side of the site list. It's called Microstock Poll Results. See that Photocase is on the "Low Earner" list with a zero Earnings Rating. That should tell you all you need to know.
I believe that is pretty accurate too but I am sure we all have our little secrets, not only agencies are greedy and shady

Really? My RPD the last 3 months is: $1.65, $2.65, $2.55. What levels are your images? The money starts to get made at Level 3+.
my best seller level 5 have 28 sales and last time sold was on March 7th.. I guess that shows how high levels are selling for me..

If you really think this is going to take off, why are contributors having to fund the start up of the site? Waive the fees until there are enough sales to pay for them. Have a temporary 50% commission for the first year. You'll get lots more interest from contributors who will recommend the site to buyers.
I agree! this has never happened before, in a different way CreativeWarehouse is asking for funds to build a website too, for us contributors is very unusual and in a certain way we think its dodgy, sure PE aint

Really, its of zero interest which have the most turnover, profit, revenue, etc. The only thing of importance here is: which one is most gratifying to be with, which is the best for independants?
that said I believe both SS and IS (we do enjoy/need money)

« on: May 29, 2012, 12:38 »
I guess this was talked here but I dont remember/cannot find it, anybody knows how many buyers IS or SS has?

We just added support for 123RF. With this addition, Stock Performer now supports all big 5 and is able to provide you with up-to-date charts and metrics to see and analyse your data in various ways.

Enjoy! :-) Luis
thats amazing, once again great work, cant wait to see an annual plan, cheers!

I'm having a BME there but I'm still going to leave them if they don't get rid of that Pinterest button.
on a BME too (low numbers) and I see less sales but a lot more credits (my RPD went from 0.80 to 1.3)

« on: May 29, 2012, 12:11 »
why come out with contributor level that's so difficult to understand? so the 1 credits is not equal to $1, where can we see the credits we accumulate?
you cannot, its the IS system but without telling us the accumulated http://davidgilder.com/misc/123RF_credit_calculator.html

in order to maintain the same commission in future.. one needs to reach contributor level 5, that's 12 month credit total 5,000 - 19,999, what does it means does it mean I need to have a $5000 for 12 month total minimum?
you cannot make the maths that fast, I would say around half of that, it depends on the licenses you sell Subscription 1 S 1 M 2 L 3 XL 4 XXL 5 XXL TIFF 10 EPS 10 100MB TIFF 20 200 MB TIFF 40 300 MB TIFF 60 Print EL 50 Electronic EL 75 Comprehensive EL 100 Multiseat 25

I believe that most of those large sales have discount, like IS a buyer gets their own plan which will hurt or not us, I am not sure if I will keep the 50% but I cannot ditch an agency that does over 100$ per month, they dont look as shady in my opinion, only the 100MB which is confusing
What is confusing about the 100MB? A buyer purchased a 100MB sized image from you. If you had sold that yourself with 123rf's pricing, 150 credits @ $1.07/credit, you would pocket $160.50. Selling that size through 123rf, you should receive $80.25 at 50%. Instead you receive $11.58 at 7%. Nothing confusing here. It's a blatant rip off. They don't look as shady to you because you don't want to see it. You've drawn the line in the sand. $100 a month. As long as you keep earning that, you won't leave. What message does this say to them? They know that they can keep reducing your commission as long as you keep getting $100 every month. You'll keep uploading more images and they'll probably sell more through heavier discounting but you won't earn much more. I bet they can push the boundaries so that your earnings will drop to $90 a month and you'll chock it down to ebb and flow and put up with it.
my friend I agree 100% on everything you just said! second I am a fan of all agencies that keep increasing and are steady (at least in "my income") not only 123RF! third I only see them shady on this 100 MB which they "have explained" a while ago here in this forum, that said there's not much I can do beside upload and collect, I have tried many times with many agencies to change something around this industry, smaller ones that maybe will never get anywhere hear us other just keep on doing whatever they want! even after that I still believe 123RF is a nice agency with actually nice communication, for sure Alex will show up and explain us once more this license.. perhaps ending it too after all this crap talk shall we stop doing stock and get a "real" job?

A sale now and then, not enough to make it worthwhile to upload any more. I stopped when I started hearing about lots of apparently unreasonable rejections. Supposedly PD was making changes to address that issue; has anything changed?
a little I guess, a while ago, perhaps 2 months, I just got a big increase in my portfolio over 30%, they have loooked into it without my request, only here on MSG I believe

My personal opinion is this is one reviewer...and s/he is a college student. The issues were abound last summer...then they started over the Christmas break...then the complaints started again at Spring break...and school let out last week or the week before for most universities.
I'm serious about this.
photography student? seriously how do they pick them? I am not seeing absurd rejections

As I understand it, their search engine has a bias in favor of new images. So most of us probably saw big sales when we were first getting our portfolios up.
Once your portfolio is on the site, you are reliant on your smaller week to week upload batches to attract buyers. Sales were bound to drop off a bit. Stopping uploading compounds the problem...
Nope, I cannot confirm that Lisa, sales are pretty much dead here too.
watch your language oops we arent talking about CC, I believe they arent kicking out people because of that!
