Looks like my pathetic 15$ is actually quite a good month then !!!
Compared to my 50 cents this month - you're doing great.
I keep on wondering why they dont decrease the min payout

He is engaged to be married...maybe there's a mini-Yuri on the way?
Something he's "been working on for 2 years"?
It takes more than the usual gestation time to breed a Miniyuri. The only question I have is this: will he give birth out of his thigh, like Zeus, or will he delegate that job to an apprentice?
LMAO this is going OT as usual

I'm sorry, but anyone who is exclusive at DT just isn't interested in making money out of their stock portfolio
so true..

I'm guess selling just his own work direct, or a new agency or similar
yeah. Probably his own agency.
That would be interesting. Most sites would kick you out if you tried to set up in competition with them. But perhaps Yuri could convince them that they can't live without him.
sure it aint an agency, the max will be his own store, we could never take IS and top agencies customers that fast..

If you worry about your royalties you should stop using agencies that provide low percentages or ask them to raise them for you. As long as you contribute there don't expect us to keep royalties more than theirs because it would be impossible to compete. .[/i]..end quote
This comment from Serban is insulting our intelligence and it's very disappointing. He can't use the excuse of competing while at the same time raising prices for buyers. This level increase won't bring in more buyers and probably will deter them. This is a terrible and arrogant comment to make and it will lose him a lot of respect, both from buyers and contributors.
it is absurd.. competing with other agencies? competing royalties? seriously thats not the agency job, their job is getting us buyers.. they can compete on the pricing but never lowering royalties because other have.. thats not a business strategy it is pure greed if done in that way

A lot of blindly woo yay'ing for SS. We suddenly see a totally new amount of commissions popping up and everybody just starts cheering while nobody even seems to wonder where it comes from. Just like i wanted more transparency from iS i want it from SS too. $18 sales sure are nice, but where the heck are they coming from?! Its clearly not sensitive use, and probably not single image buyers either (afaik they go for roughly $19 each of which we get 30%). So what is this? What are the license terms?! What are buyers charged for this mysterious product and do we really get 30%? Am i really the only one wondering about this?!
ahah I believe you can look into SS pricing, I dont see any Single Image pricing for Portugal/Ireland, please somebody help Artemis here

Not sure what their requirements are, or much about them really, but I noticed that new site PocketStock accepts and (claims to) sell mobile-sourced images, though when I signed up to try them out I noticed they require exclusivity for mobile images. http://www.mystockphoto.org/introducing-pocketstock-open-letter/ http://www.pocketstock.com/
too bad they need exclusivity (actually they dont) http://www.pocketstock.com/textual/royaltiesand here it is another agency where all the pros are too.. I understand that all images shot on a phone will only be accepted under our Exclusive Content Supply Agreement. I understand that all images are submitted non-exclusively except images shot on a phone.

impossible to compete WITH WHAT? royalties? I am missing something for sure.. arent they suppose to compete in PRICING?? I really hoped I havent read that paragraph, it wasnt really needed..

we have no idea if this is going to be good or bad but one thing we know for sure, royalties will never be over 20% again.. once your boss cuts your salary he wont raise it, thats why employeers give bonus/prizes and all that crap, making sure they wont raise the fixed part..

But look at it that way; even if your sales are 50% down (yearly trends), they're still a lot higher than they are for 99% of the contributors. That would comfort me, if I were you.
It wouldn't comfort me a bit if I were Lisa. "Getting more than 99% of contributors" doesn't put food on the table or put your children through college.
Of course it does! And more than that! I know ppl that were ranked from 70-200 on IS charts. That is in the roughly better 95-98% of the contributors range. They were all getting 6 figures in (yearly). Now it that's not enough to put food on the table and kids through college, than I don't know how much is...
dont know about the figures you have stated but I agree that we should adjust our lifestyle or go in other direction, sure there are tons of people living poorly, one thing I know, I never spend more than I earn, sure I have no kids or a big fancy car but if I had I would work harder or look for other solutions..

20% royalty (level 0) is a insult.
It's a lot better than 12% at FT or 14% at iS.
Just because others make bigger mistakes doesn`t justify anything
sure but FT paying $$ instead of EUR is a very nice one too.. it just keeps getting better.. DT plan is incredible, they want to make more money and hardcore stuff, will see how it goes..
