It is actually strongly adviced to NOT use the exact same keywords for all of the images and this decreases their indexability. Yuri Arcurs was advising to use about half of the keywords the same and others - different. {snark removed}
advised by whom? is that a review for your product? many images need 10-20 tags, and all highly relevant, so should we add different spam tags to make them different? and how do we know anything about how each agency does their indexing?

one steep forward, 2 steps back
instead of the generic 'we dont like this image', we now see Possible reasons:
- Non compliant use of another artists name.
- Undeclared Generative AI Content.
- Content not compliant with overall guidelines:
but does that mean they think it's AI?(when it's not, but we dont know if this was the reason & we can submit properly) or is it not compliant for another reason
they need to have a separate notice for AI gen related problems
so, they've just muddied the waters and we still dont know why it's rejected; 'guidelines' is such a weasel word & covers a multitude of sins, only some of which are technical
-------------- otoh, the good news is they're catching up - recent photo reviews were only 10 days old, but dozens AI gen from last month havent been reviewed, and weirdly 3 images are 2 months old

At Inle Lake I get very wistful. Have traveled the country in 2015 alone by motorcycle and find the current political situation in this spiritual with extremely hospitable people unbearable. When were you there?
This was my best seller before the coup.
last time 2015 - probably saw you. my pix - https://cascoly.photography/search?q=inle (lots of dupes that need to be cleaned up)
first time was 1987, just before the protests & the military coup. we were limited to a very narrow corridor but did get to Inle Lake big black market kyat was officially 8 to the $ (and you were required to change $25 & bring a Johnny Walker Red(!) for the customs agent or you'd have a long wait), but outside you could get 25-80. another currency was 505 cigarettes - packs replaced cash & were never opened
Thanks for your insights. I can't top 1987, when I was still traveling with my parents in southern France
i got a late start - was 30 before i started international travel., in the 80sx i led 5 treks to Nepal with extensions to Burma & India

Some of my 12-month-old pix were reviewed today - still a lot of 'quality' rejects other agencies took, but at least time they didn't reject an entire batch. interesting that they reviewed only photos, the AI gen's from the same bath are still waiting their turn

I had several hundred images on Fine Art America for a few years. Had 1-2 sales.
FAA's search engine algorithm heavily favors their long-time members with very large portfolios (commercial galleries, etc.) that dominant sales. Those trying to get started have a really hard time trying to gain any traction as a result.
Waste of time with no meaningful results for effort expended so closed my account.
in addition FAA only sends some of your images for google indexing

they do - they are entered as illustrations - what else could they be?
Did you miss the announcement that they can now be submitted as photos? Happened maybe around 3 weeks ago....
yes, i missed it - i agree w you they're not photos

......
I am complaining about AI images being submitted as photos. They should never have been submitted as illustrations or photos in the first place. They are not illustrations. They are not photos. They should have gotten their own AI image category (or never have been allowed at all).
they do - they are entered as illustrations - what else could they be? AIgen is a technique like vectors, not an image category. but more important is that they also have to be marked as AI generated illustrations, none allowed as photos I complain about Mat claiming that Adobe does not need more reviewers, when very obviously they do and need to change something. They either need to disallow AI images, give a separate review queque to real photos or hire a hell lot of new reviewers.
i have 100 images, photo & AI, in Q for 2 weeks to 2 MONTHS! but AS won't admit the bigger problem of entire batches being rejected (as many here have reported)

i agree on the silly rejects, esp'ly when the reason given is worthless ('something's wrong - guess what it is!")
but the bigger problem is when entire batches are rejected (and most i submit have already accepted by S & DT) and taking a month to review is ridiculous

I currently can upload max 5 images per day. I cant even imagine uploading 30 per day, let alone 100. Do they not upscale them, re-save them, put metadata, and do description/keyword them? Descriptions and keywords alone take me 10 minutes per file.
They must be making a huge amount of money
do you edit metadata before uploading? I can do 50+ images /hr since many images use similar descriptions & keywords i use topaz apps to upscale, denoise & sharpen in batches

similarly, many ordinary microscope images are of stained-prepared objects
I still see that as a representation of the real world. It's an example of real world staining - something that many scientists and hobbyists do in labs etc every day. So I don't see that as misleading. Someone may be looking for an example of a specific type of staining. And of course there are many types of microscopy such as bright field, dark field and polarisation that will give very different 'looks.' And I would consider each of those 'looks' to be authentic. However, I would label them appropriately in my descriptions if I submitted some imagery as stock - ie dark field imaging.
right, my point was, most people might think these were actual colors

ss is especially tough on sky noise - particularly with HDR images. other agencies accept them, but when rejected I either select & slightly blur the sky or do sky replace which does an excellent job with uneven horizons (trees, steeples, etc.)

... Just think of the Covid virus illustrations, they are not a real photo of what the virus actually looks like.
...
and even a proper electron microscope image can be misleading - scientists know what false-colors mean, but ordinary folk could think virii are rainbow colored. similarly, many ordinary microscope images are of stained-prepared objects

All the same, copy paste on Microstock +, i spend about 10 minutes a week gor uploading 25 images to 8 agencies, no issues with sales.
same here - using LR to add meta, trying to find individual desc for a dozen+ images is tedious &H and worth the tro uble for pennies. i often get multiple images from that series

I've been to Persepolis and the first thing that struck me was how many people were there. it's not easy to get there, and fewer tourists now (not a popular site for Iranians)
also, there are no pillars on the sides of the gates and the statues look more Egyptian.
this is the type of AI that shouldn't be labeled w a specific site, but i doubt many reviewers know enough to be able to reject this

buyers dont care about how the artist traveled to get a picture or the cost of their equipment - they want an image for their needs & dont care whether AI or not.
AI isnt there yet for most actual locations and model-type images need improvement, as Jo Ann & others have documented. but as AI evolves it will be to the buyers' benefit to use AI generated people rather than the model release hassles for editorial usage.
I think you are right for very low-quality work, but you are wrong for those who want to differentiate themselves from others.
And today, in marketing, it matters a lot to do different things to stand out from the crowd. Even for those who buy images.... Stock photography and especially AI images will serve to fill low-quality blogs and websites at a price close to zero. It will probably no longer be a lucrative market for creators.
We need to do as RedBubble did which divided the contributors between Premium and Standard, giving more visibility to the Premium ones.
much of microstock is 'low-quality' but what's the incentive for agencies &who would make the subjective labeling? even at this young age AI many AI i mages are better than 'low-quality' digital images we were talking about microstock where there's no indication buyers care at all for artist stories or look for a specific artist they're too busy buying cheap images i participate in several groups on FAA (and admin for 5) and have never heard anyone on Redbubble reporting significant income. more income from those using twitter & mastodon, but still dwarfed by microstock income

i've had ridiculous non-licensable rejections - - mountains in the north cascades, climbers on a generic trail
- market scenes submitted as editorial where some of a batch are approved and others rejected.
also images rejected as 'altered editorial' where only had minor PS tweaks, or blurred background and a few where there were no post-processing maybe i shouldn't mention it, but my sacre-coeur images are still online

On istock they have a clear reminder that even if a small part is changed with ai, it is ai generated and cannot be sent to istock.
On Adobe it would have to be marked as generated with ai tools.
including AI features in PS? content aware fill, upcoming generative fill to extend backgrounds, and especially neural filters? these effects are not traceable, and have never been considered ai generated in the past

That is great news!
This is the first step to being paid properly for datasets.
that's been the reality all along - those complaining they weren't paid expect large payments, but with hundreds of millions in the dataset what would expected income/image be?

I agree with your proposal and I think that in the future there will always be many people who will ask for real photography for their stories to tell and not all these identical images copied here and there.
And it will have to cost more than an AI image, because the marginal cost of an AI image is very close to zero, while a real photograph requires expensive equipment, travel costs, and in some cases, real models. ...
buyers dont care about how the artist traveled to get a picture or the cost of their equipment - they want an image for their needs & dont care whether AI or not. No worries. Buyers will fix them to make them make sense. At least these are not copyright/trademark violations. Reviewer AI clearly cant distinguish 6 fingers, 3 arms, 3 legs and other weird images.
and, nitpicking, but this unsupported staircase, is possible - while scary i've used such in Turkey & India

...The question you have to ask yourself is "Why are customers paying for images that are free to use?" But, again, not Adobe's problem.
- Many users dont know how to find these images --- the Metropolitan Museum and others have made their images publicly available copyright-free, even commercially, under creative commons (due to required credits most agencies wont accept these images, but end users can)
- or they dont know how to search images on google, (which doesnt separate free images)/li]
- or they dont have the time to search to find what they need
- others may have subscriptions making quick access to, public domain images cheap.
