It was mentioned in the Nov. 1st stats update thread here http://www.istockphoto.com/forum_messages.php?threadid=348641&page=9#post6782713and MichaelJay responded with this: The daily stats were not updated since Wednesday (14th) as it looks. I haven't seen any official reply but I don't think this is according to plan. I'll wait until tomorrow to see if whoever presses the button for the update is getting back to their desks after the weekend... Prior to this I had been noticing pretty regular daily updates for the past few weeks.

Thinking about you and hoping you're on the mend and back with us soon.

83% is much higher than 71% in my eye especially with the high standards that GL has...
g Yes it's higher but I think that the difference between 40 and 1000 is way too extreme. Getting about 1 in 10 more photos than you accepted allows me 960 more uploads a day!!!!!!
I have a 90% acceptance rate but only get to upload 40 a day - not that I'd need 1000 slots, I'm not even using the 40 right now.

They are my #3 earning site but that's going to change if they follow through with the commission change. My only growth in sales is in direct correlation to the number of files I added this year. 50% more growth and 50% more files in my portfolio. I didn't stop uploading when they announced the planned changes because I knew my portfolio was small and I was working to increase my number of files. I was giving the site a chance to follow through on their promised growth for downloads while I worked on increasing uploads. Figured I needed to have more files online to give them a fair chance. Now it's time to reassess things. They need to show me why it's worth my while to continue uploading.

I was seeing the same thing - missing info in the top right and a suggestion to change the password.

My portfolio is too small to be statistically relevant in the big picture but I'm seeing activity. I had a few sales in March & April and then nothing all summer but in the past 2 weeks I've had a few sales. I was wondering if it was attributed to a marketing push or just a seasonal bump.

...saying: Thank you!
He goes on to say that they will "continue to work at making Shutterstock a rewarding experience for contributors..." - considering how other places are treating their photographers lately (or not so lately), I hope he keeps his word
"Thanks for making me a couple hundred million dollars. I'm going to take five minutes and write an email that my computer will send to all of you, with no further effort on my part."

Took about a much effort as today's HQ Update at iS, yet somehow managed to convey a much more optimistic, appreciative and hopeful message that didn't leave you with a sick feeling in your stomach.

In the midst of all the tech problems they seem to have finally figured out how to tranfser images to the PP sites. For the longest time I had only 10% of my portfolio on the PP sites and in the last few weeks the floodgates have opened. More images showing up each day with about 50% of my portfolio showing up on PP sites now. Maybe they've been focusing their IT department on transferring the files instead of fixing the broken features.

perhaps it would be fun to start a poll.. I just had a mass 'rejection' / 'acceptance' on shutterstock and the day is...monday, tuesday etc. Then we could fish out the day that the strict review works lol unless their schedule is sporadic of course.
7 out of 7 accepted on a Saturday afternoon for me so that's counter to the weekend theory.

I noticed it tonight too - I think the logo is cleaner and the search box is larger with the account info in the top right a bit smaller. (It's a bit like those cartoons in the Sunday paper - spot the seven different things between two photos)

I had one refund about 18 months ago and wrote to support. I had a "real" response (not canned auto-response) within 24 hours telling me that if it was a matter of credit card fraud their system automatically would refund but that they never gave refunds for quality images just because someone changed their mind.

Sales have been steady and growing a bit but not enough to get me anywhere near the current commission level. I've moved from the basement to the next level but won't get higher than that unless things really take off.
They are my #3 seller right now but that's definately going to change if they stick with this currently planned commission structure. It's particularly demoralizing after they floated the first (short lived) commission change they put out there that basically grandfathered in all but the very newest contributors at the current rates, then they pulled that back and threw out this new plan that requires a very big portfolio or a portfolio that commands a lot of larger file sizes to get those RC's up to where we're at now. I'm definately not feeling the love here.

I've been married for 11 years and I still can't keep my husband's "condiment" rules straight. The combination of which cold cut and which cheese dictates whether it's mayonnaise or mustard and if it's yellow or brown mustard. He should just be happy I'm making him a sandwich!

I had a zero sale this month but underneath in red it said (refund for another download). It wasn't clear if it was for another of mine but there were others that day so it may have been. I've never had one with no notice.

Lisa, is right in a sense. Look at all these millions of out of work, bums, ( no disrespect), going into the Arts, creative this and that. When they leave school or their courses, theres no work, no jobs at all for them and what happens? dole que! and thats the reallity of it. How many times havent one heard, Oh! Im studying to be a high-flying Art-director! oh yeah, 3 years later, dole-que. Its all BS.
Today, education is a must and not just any education, its no point anymore, studying meaningless subjects like arts, litterature, history and similar stuff, to secure a job future, they have to study one of the bona-fide, academics, that will lead to something, it doesnt have to be, medicine, law, accountancy or enginnering, but something that gives a finished job or position.
The days of sitting around the Montmarte in paris, sipping wine, mingeling with the likes of the Impressionists are LONG GONE!.
I have my MFA in Silversmithing (yup, what was I thinking? ) and somehow I've managed to be self-sustaining with a good deal of my employment having some sort of creative angle, even using many of the skills used in pursuit of my degree for a number of years. Never once relyed on public assistance. My nephew recently graduated with his degree in film production and within a short while managed to land a full time job as a production assistant for a well-known producer. Not saying it's easy to graduate with an arts degree but it doesn't have to be a one-way ticket to poverty either. You just need to be more creative with your employment pursuits and networking - you're not likely to open the local paper and see them advertising for artists.

It's just boring because none of us have access to those highly restricted exciting locations, otherwise we'd have something fascinating to post.

Sounds like a great way to celebrate and hopefully a boost for sales too. Have the images for the bundle been selected yet and would we have been notified if we have an image included or do we just find out when the sales start rolling in?

I use Lightburner to upload to a number of sites and lately Bigstock has not been successful. I am assuming it's the ftp issue on their end as it has worked before.

I think only credit sales count as a sale and subs are only a portion of a sale. So your sales may be at 600 but by DP counting you're only at 375 or the like. I might be confused with another agency but I think I'm in a similar position.
I know that it takes 4 subs downloads to add up to one 'real' download at Fotolia, but I'm not sure if DP does the same. If DP does the same that could explain why I'm stuck at the bottom after 600 downloads, since most of those downloads were subs. I just would like DP to get back to me and let me know what's going on.
It is a similar system at DP. Credit sales count as one DL and SMS and Subs count as 1/3 of a sale. If you go to the Profile tab it will show your current level and how many DL's you need to get to the next level.

I wouldn't expect DT to be particularly persistant in working to get a watermarked image removed. I e-mailed them in early Nov. of 2011 about a blog that had one of my watermarked images from DT. They promptly sent the blog owner a takedown notice but there was no response or takedown of the image. After a few weeks I forwarded the information direct to Wordpress via their DMCA process. Four days later, November 28th, I had a response from Wordpress that the image had been removed.
Today, just over 8 months later, I got a form letter e-mail from DT telling me the image had either been taken down or properly licensed. Kind of annoying that they just a catch-all form letter to say they are closing out the claim without actually noting the real outcome.

I clicked on the two links from the OP, and both take me Shutterstock and shows me logged in with my earnings visible including my homepage. How could a phishing scam have access to my homepage without me giving them any info?
I think the cut and paste in this forum are picking up the legit link based on the context but when I hovered over the links in the phishing e-mail in the lower left of my screen I could see the re-direct to a secure https at shutterstockmail dot com

I just got that e-mail too. Looks very legit (except for the re-direct on the e-mails). Suspicious in that they waited until after SS business hours on a Friday to send that out too. My first thought was that the return of Captcha had something to do with it too.
