Peaceful Christmas Eve and all the best in 2013.

Geezz can we give this topic a rest!!?? I mean  how many "I HATE ISTOCK" threads do we need. I am doing very well at iStock because I work hard at making images that sell and not whining on forums about how unfair life is.

If you hate iStock, please leave it. It means more money for me. And if you do leave don't announce it because half of us don't care and the other half are glad to see you go.

OX
...now back to the studio

I DO NOT AGREE WITH YOU!
100 % don't care and 100 % will be glad to see somebody to go.

Is your case anything like this one?
http://www.alamy.com/forums/default.aspx?g=posts&t=14663
Have you contacted Alamy?
What did they say?

Thnx SS for link.
I was thinking to contribute at Alamy but this and also some previous situations are reasons that I "stay out". All top and mid tiers are ok for me :)

Have a nice day.

Waiting  for   review  --  one  month  and  counting.

The current wait time is about 3 days - 1 month is way too long to be normal, and indicates there is a different problem. If there are releases attached, check your "Release Manager" section for errors. Otherwise open a support ticket with an image number so we can tell you what the issue is.

NO,  IT IS NOT.  With release or w/o release.
It is 5-10 days.

So what, more and more is also here politics: upload and forget.
But, more sad is that are over my portfolio dark, dark clouds.
I hope that only over my portfolio.
I am waiting sunny days  8)

Mine is 3 days.  I had nothing with MR.  Wonder why such a difference?
I wonder too.
Maybe is for rookies with small portfolio (1000) this normally.

Is anyone at home at Bigstock?

Have to ask this again. It's been almost 5 weeks since I've had anything reviewed.

They are at home, of course.
But they are all crying, because I have stopped to upload.

StockUploader / Re: Free Stockuploader
« on: December 16, 2012, 09:12 »
with a normal ftp program you have this workflow (for example 5 diffrent agencies)

-open FTP program,
-connect agency 1,
-choose pictures-upload
-wait
-connect agency 2,

-chose pictures-upload
.
.
.

with my program it works like this:
-open the program
-choose pictures
-choose where to upload which pic (done automatically by filters, but you can override that)
-hit upload button
-wait till its finished

you chose the pictures only once, and dont have to do anything till all is over. some people wrote me talling that this is fantastic to upload pictures overnight.

No need to wait:

My way:

-open FTP program,
-connect agency 1,
-choose pictures
-enter

-connect agency 2
-choose pictures - already marked so only one click
-enter

-connect agency 3
-chose pictures - already marked so only one click
-enter
etc...

Enjoy

When the RC was announced I stopped uploading to Istock for many months. When it was clear that not enough people were boycotting I resumed uploads.
Lasted probably 3-4 months

Be serious.
Look on the right side of this page, IS is still the second Top...
I think that any comment is superfluous.

444
I-Stock is my #2 site so better to spend effort there then the smaller sites :)

Imagine smiley with thumb up here.

Nice trout!
Bravo.

#4 Nice microstock photo. Winner not only for IS.

Enjoy.

@ all: Thanks for your helpfull comments. In the meantime I tried to improve the quality and FT is now accepting about 80% of my submissions, the actuall portfolio is 369 pics, 52 had already sales . The other day I registered at 123rd and submitted 10 pics which have been rejected by FT. I was very much suprised that all 10 have been accepted by 123rd.

The plan is now to submit first the rejected FT pics and then those from FT with sales or many views. I am aware that I have to further improve the quality before I will try SS and iStock.

There is a technical issue where I need your advises: I found a very nice motif, a coconut tree in front of my 3rd floor bedroom. That means the coconuts are in a horizontal position to the camera which is very unusual. These photos where rejected by FT. I introduced that in the FT forum and the advise there was that my kit objective is not suitable because of the approx. 4 meter distance. I am still scared to invest a lot of money for a better objective. But 123rd was accepting the photo. Now I am confused if it is realy a lens problem. What is your opinion?

Cheers, Jochen

Hi, Jochen,

I think that is not "lens problem" (You have 80 % acceptance and nice sales)
It is FT problem.   ::)
And DO NOT WAIT WITH SS OR IS, just send Your BEST bestsellers photos.

beer! and some self mutilation.
But only a small and short dose of  the later.

Rejections are not important. Let the agencies have fun. Thats their place in time and space.

Yeahh, agree !
POSITIVE THINKING, that will save the planet

Adobe Stock / Uppsss, I am in Fotolia CRAZY REJECTIONS club too :)
« on: December 14, 2012, 05:03 »
Yeahh, dear friends, You have a new member in FT crazy "rejectionsreasons" club.

25 outdoor photos ( people, action...) taken with Canon 5d MII, Canon 70-200 2.8, strobe with soft box..
Reason: unsharp,  bla bla bla...

Not to mention that this photos SS accepted 100 %.
Other agencies as well.

So, when are we going on juice or beer to celebrate new member?

Hey guys. How are you all doing?

I've been wanting to buy the new GoPro Hero3 Black Edition since it shoots 1080p at 60fps and 720p at 120fps. I would like to know if anyone knows about the video quality and if it's good enough for stock. I sure hope so, since it costs around US$1000 in Brazil (yes, we pay the highest taxes in the world in this * country).

I'm aware that it has almost fish eye lenses and as far as I know, there are no adapters. I don't plan on going sky diving or base jumping, but a bike trail or rollercoaster shot would be possible.

Anyway, that's what I wish to know. Do you think it's worth spending US$1000 on it, a bit for fun, but mostly for stock footage.

Cheers,
Dan

You know everything if You know this.
It depends on if buyer need so distorted footage.

Enjoy

Pond5 / Re: Review time for photos?
« on: December 05, 2012, 14:40 »
Mine were uploaded 2 weeks ago still not reviewed. Also no batch editing feature, so I have 2nd thoughts about uploading there. The site is not really geared towards photography, its all video and audio. Plus its horrible to navigate the site.

there is a batch editing feature [up to 400 files at a time] - it's at the bottom of the editing page - you can set a category, and then submit to curator - 2 short steps --MUCH easier than submitting tot FT or DP, eg

until recently [possibly sansdy related], images were taking just a few days.  footage has always taken 2-3 weeks or more whether i submit 2 videos or 20

the more important factor is that they're already doing better for me than gl, dp, yay or any of the other low end sites and are much easier to work with

You cant batch change the copyright name and you cant batch add a release, so its useless. I closed my account because of the lack of views, lack of support, lack of features, lack of everything.

I will make another attempt as soon as they support photographers in a decent way.

100 % agree.
Middle Tier?  Pha, maybe for videos.
