Yeah, I don't think you're going to get far with this one.  Besides, I doubt there's anything in the license related to size.

It didn't do anything for me on firefox either, and I don't see any delete on the post itself.

General Stock Discussion / Re: Trademarks at FAA
« on: August 13, 2019, 14:49 »
A: The OP asked about licensing images with trademarks, not "copyrighted images".
B: Sure, you can license images containing trademarks with an editorial license.

Also: https://www.danheller.com/model-release-copyrights.html

Mmm... Sorry Sean but OP asked not about licensing but commercial prints with "products and trademarks" and I cant'see big difference with copyrighted items.
B) fine art America is commercial prints market, nothing to do with "editorial license" of an images.

Comment A addressed your misstatement about what the OP said.  Comment B addressed your incorrect statement that "It's NEVER ok to sell protected and copyrighted images".

FAA also licenses images: https://fineartamerica.com/imagelicensingbusiness.html

It's NEVER ok to sell protected and copyrighted images, if the legit owner should discover there could be big problems.
FAA doesn't check content and you can submit anything, even a Ferrari logo, but it's up to you to declare that you have the right to sell.
You have to pay eventually for the consequences

I buy two of whatever the current WD MyBook drives that are around $80 or so.  I just bought two 2TB at Best Buy for $70 each.  Takes me about six months to fill them (one is a backup of the other).  Never had an issue.

« on: August 09, 2019, 04:46 »
Thanks Mat, it's great to hear the bonus program has returned. I see they've upped the ante. The "$500 in sales" requirement is gone, but now we need 300 freshly uploaded videos. I better get to work then... ;)

@Shelma:
I agree it's not fair to leave illustrators hanging like that. I have the luxury of being a vector AND video contributor, but hopefully next year they'll include ALL contributors.

... and motion graphic template people :)

For both plan qualifications it says: "........during the period of Jan 1- Dec 31, 2019......"

It's on the web page FAQ.

Cool.  I didn't dig that far.

Dang, I don't have that many video uploads to qualify for the whole package :(

Then you had better get busy producing new content Sean. There is still plenty of time!  :)

Ah, it goes through the end of the year?  The way it read, I wasn't sure.

Yep, last month was about half of my peak, which was last November.
I sure hope you're doing well on Stocksy!

Oddly enough, I get a nice chunk of change from our partnership with Adobe.  I'm not hating on AS by any means.  I just wish every site would show some growth.

436
To be fair, there is a difference. With a book cover the image is not the product merely the attractive wrapper for the product but with wallpaper the image is the product. No one would buy blank white wallpaper. I agree with the OP in that selling stock images to be used as wallpaper, where the image is the product, should not be allowed in the license.

Which is why it isn't included in the regular license, and it costs to get an extended license that allows it.

Yep.  We call that "summer."

Happens every year. People take vacations. Companies decide what to for the coming Winter season.  Nothing unusual.

This is not a paycheck that remains the same whether you work or not, or whether the stuff you sell is wanted or not. It has seasonal variations, and the pipeline must be constantly fed to keep the material fresh.

Learn to live with it... or leave the hobby/business (getting harder and harder to really call it a business...)

Thanks for the tips.

No, it's not just summer.  This July was 35% lower than last July and August.  About 10% lower than last June.  Sure, there's a summer slowdown, but that's in addition to no growth, and just waning sales.  I hope it roars back in the fall.  AS had been fairly consistent.

Products for Resale licenses arent new.

If you think it sounds so easy, go ahead and sell it yourself.

442
Yes, most have a products for resale license.

AS is not looking good.  Down a consistent slide to 30% off from January.  And that wasnt so hot to start.

444
Dont use peoples names.  Or identifiable info like license plates or street names.

Check trademark.gov or whatever the site is.

Not so free once you get sued.

Moronic statements like supporting abortions to 40 weeks and open borders are just attempts to incite.  Not discussions.

« on: July 26, 2019, 08:32 »
and no, i do not make 100 any more., my sales are evaporating like on all sites accept for canva which is the only site that shows growth

Unless your growth is going from 1 to 2 downloads a month at Canva, its hard to believe youre seeing any there.  Sad downfall.

Even worse than last month, looking to be.  Which was my lowest month since my second month.  This looks to be my lowest since my first.

Im asking because of BME/WME discussions that no one really knows if were talking 20$ 200$ or 2000$
A drop is a drop, I respect it and feel bad for the ones that experience it (including me from time to time) but if one has 100 files online and sees a 30$ drop its way different from one that sees 2000$ drop with a large established portfolio.

I've posted some numbers.  Like, for instance, I have 3500 images on Canva, and dropped from a high of more than $1000 a month to $35 last month.
