close view is a bit underexposed. A reflector would help a lot with window light as the only source.

iStockPhoto.com / Re: isolation rejection« on: February 21, 2008, 16:08 »Polygonal selection are bascally... useless. With the pen tool you can easily make polygonal selections if you want an a LOT more. The pen tool is not easy to master, but it is definitively the one you should concentrate on let me reformulate my question: after selection is done (Pen tool, or whatever tool selection tool) is it enough just to Modify --> contract by 2 pixels and Modify --> Smooth by 2 pixels ? What about Blur or Feather options ? 434
iStockPhoto.com / Re: isolation rejection« on: February 21, 2008, 15:09 »Probably blur tool in the tools pallete. What about doing isolations with a pen? I would like to know how to properly use polygonal tool also. 435
iStockPhoto.com / isolation rejection« on: February 21, 2008, 14:39 »
I got two images rejected with this message "The execution of isolation contains stray areas that are either too feathered or rough". to select i used polygonal tool and then Modify --> contract by 2 pixels and Modify --> Smooth by 2 pixels. I remember someone mentioned blur,
but I do not see that in Modify menu. What I am missing ? 436

I asked 123rf about turning subs off and they replied that it was not possible.

General Stock Discussion / Re: how do you keep track of what was submitted?« on: February 19, 2008, 18:51 »
I use Lightroom. Many find it very good for organizing images. I keep folders by year dates and subfolders by subjects. Without LR I would have been lost with my 800+ images (plus equal number of tiffs).

Cameras / Lenses / Re: Doubts about my starting Lens« on: February 19, 2008, 11:42 »@stock_fan: why dont you like EF-S lenses? if you want to shoot closeups, food, portrait then Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro. if food, street, portraits then 50mm f 1.4 447

Alamy.com / Re: 48MB minimum size? a joke? haha« on: February 19, 2008, 09:58 »It is still a joke here as Alamy will accept 4Mp pictures upscaled to 16Mpnope! they would not accept upscaled 4mp files they require at least 6mp files original size and it is obvious it needs to be DSLR too otherwise an upscaled image from a P&S camera would fail the quality standards. good news. I was reluctant to send to them more because of a long approval time. I think Alamy makes much sense, since one though rare sale can earn more than a month at most sites (except SS and iStock (even iStock does not do it for me yet ). 449

Cameras / Lenses / Re: Doubts about my starting Lens« on: February 18, 2008, 22:42 »
I would get Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro and Cannon 50mm f 1.4 lens. Or just with one of these two. One good lens is enough to get started.
