If they leave things as they are now, those of you who've been around a while will have a good run (at least for a while) but I think I'm going to stop uploading. There's no point as most of the newer stuff is just lost. I've only been back there since June 2011, but things had been pretty steady (not spectacular, but steady). Right now, it's really pathetic - with the occasional high price sale with those boosted images and then we're back to "subscription day" with only a trickle.
I feel you. But than again it can't be much worse than it is on mid or even low tier sites and you're contributing to some of them...
true BUT we need to see that DT is supposedly the 4th or 5th agency not a mid or low tier..

Like use to have an effect, but MP change this a long time ago. And they mad this very clear at this time that Like's will have no more effect on the placement of you image.
it is only based on downloads

I am afraid that MP will be hold responsible when they will ever be sued for misuse, for they allowed this.
they dont I guess and it makes a lot of sense, you as a contributor must be responsible to everything you upload, what's the point of uploading a Nikon camera with the logo on it? if anybody is doing this (stock) just a tiny bit serious it wont happen.. I agree with everything you have just said 20.

I believe this topic is quite unnecessary, like I have said on the topic you have created days ago the likes dont change the searches by potential buyers, if I were you I would focus on other agencies (too)

i just thought if a buyer saw a pic well liked by their peers that it might make a different
that is wayyyyy subjective, what type of buyer? blogger? honestly that is very hard to predict but yes some might get because of the likes, that said my most liked havent got a sale maybe a lot more artistic than stocky.. it would be interested to know better their search algorithm but on a quick look the buyer only have the chance to pick when it was uploaded from today to 1 year, I have also seen that files are showed by order of SALES, seems there isnt anything else changing it, the most downloaded pic on my search doesn't even have a like..

actually it's a lot of work -- you read the iptc but we still have to edit each image, main keywords arent filled in automatically, etc
actually thats nothing maybe you arent doing the right stuff.. you can pick the all 30 files at once and copy main keywords with a single click.. then two more clicks to rights and 30% at the end... p.s: ton faster than DT, FT, SS, IS etc...

I wonder if there are any news from the uploading bug I guess from last year, so long ago that I dont remember the exact date, I am talking about some non-exclusive that uploaded during a month (maybe more) way over their limits, anybody knows?

The mystery is over. Shutterstock has acknowledged the problem and a fix is in the works. This was posted in the Shutterstock forum moments ago...

I dont have that but I am having weird reviewing, they arent looking into the all batch, they review a few here and there.. and some still pending and those are files that are 100% sure not editorial.. beside the late reviews over 10 days now we have files selected instead of the all batch(s)

For what it's worth - this is not PantherMedia's fault. Apparently the applicable tax treaty provides for income to be taxed at the source. That is unfortunate, but the agencies can't disregard the law.
that said, we still have agencies not collecting taxes..

We are in the process of filing for a Guinness World Record on behalf of our top female and male model
 the other day with family (have a big one) we were watching tv and the show was about world records, the "greatest" one was an asian guy that "cracks" around 60 walnuts in a minute with his butt, after that we started discussing how far can world records go and some of us will apply lol

can you share which agencies you are talking about? One of them is Clipdealer (obviously) and the others I prefer not to share as they have very small collections and it's so nice an cozy there right now.

I also notice that if you ftp to the server, you can access to other contributor ftp folder..and the image can be copied out.
never tried that, mine is 66 or 69 if you wanna take a look
