The classic moaners here are either IS bronze or joined somewhere around 2010-2011, when all troubles started. They display feelings of infriority coupled with a sort of schitzophrenic wannabee among the big lads. Leaf should do something about these people since they are dangerous to the rest of us.
I know you arent talking about me lol but I believe you should "manner" your way of speaking

beside what I have wrote, there is also the crappy deal from being registered on FT with a US link, many European contributors having US account and being paid in US $ :/ thats another 30% cut

I am doing well in FT (looking at my own numbers comparing to DT, IS, 123RF) but I decided to make some calculations to understand how fair the royalties are, I "dont understand" why they are the only agency not paying what a buyer actually PAID for (IS, DT, 123RF, SS dont do this)
Doesn't SS do the same as we get fixed amounts for credit sales irrespective of the buyer package?
I believe we cannot add SS to the equation, not only because they are mostly subscription (I have 69% subs) and even if we make calculations 200EUR (263$) for 750 pictures (0.35$) and YES buyers may not donwload all 750 but any person can reach the 0.36$ rate quite fast, we need to add the fact that they never claimed or talked about this or that %, they always had flat rates regarding OD, the all size, is 51$ for 5 files, 10.2$ (the most expensive) there is one for 25 files for 235$, 9.4$ Earnings per Download Lifetime Earnings $1.88 Less than $500 - 18.4% - 20% $2.48 $500 to $3,000 - 24.3% - 26.4% $2.70 $3,000 to $10,000 - 26.4% - 28.7% $2.85 Over $10,000 - 27.9% - 30.3%

If professional cameras/photographers are banned at a festival, then you shouldn't be uploading those images as stock images in that you are required to get a property release and/or model release for images taken.
By photographing them and uploading them, you are opening yourself up to legal liability that will get you into some big trouble. Go to the festival, enjoy it, take pics for yourself and your family. Don't upload them as stock or editorial images.

there are tons of them, worth the try? you need to see it yourself (but I dont think you will have a more than 10-15% from them)
only upload - glstock, scanstockphoto, signstock, allyoucanstock, photokore, superhug, stockfresh (last one 1 click to all) upload and 1-5 clicks (per batch) - veer, 123rf, photodune, yay, pixmac, panthermedia, canstockphoto, irockstock, crestock, zoonar, mostphotos upload, clicks, categories - deposiphotos, bigstockphoto, featurepics (last one no categories but one each time)
over 200$ in 2011 - canstockphoto, depositphotos from 150$ to 200$ in 2011 - veer, photodune, panthermedia, bigstockphoto, isignstock

Last I checked Alamy doesn't do RF editorial... if you don't have model releases, the images must be RM.
exactly, if they need property or model release they can only be RM, no other option

And the best news of all is that you get to keep ALL $20!
But what was the Cost Of Sales for that?
dont know but I do remember a post from cybernesco showing October IS royalties for 60$

Is it truth that full frame optics is much cheaper for Canon than for Nikon?
I believe they "were", the new 24 70 is a lot more expensive.. but beside that I guess much cheaper..

that's why lagereek for instance virtually doesn't have competition on MS when it comes to industrial (inside of power plants, offshore oil rigs and such) shots
actually lagereek pics are used over and over, its the same guy in every pic, not saying its not smart, sure it is but it doesnt show how great he shoot "people" ON location
Wut! youre right, no competition what so ever BUT! forget the people, they play a secondary role here, Its the locations! it is strictly a matter of getting in to places ( in my case via commissioned work). I bet Im one of the few that can walk straight into any Shell, Exxon or BP, refinery or installation in the world, I have even got press-passes for every one of them. This is because of years of mutual photographer/client trust, I have had them as clients since 1996. Originally my people are ofcourse shot by myself and I use some of them very often, why? because they have the appropriate protective clothing that you MUST have inside giant industries or else the picture isnt worth anything. Ive got thousands of people shots but few where the protective clothing is 100%, workers themselves tend to ignore this.
As far as oil, gas, nuclear, offshore, car-production plants, aerospace, no I have virtually no competition but as said, the actual people play second fiddle here, its mainly the locations. At, SS for example, 80% of my shots are sold through the search-words, oil, gas, industry, chemical and petrochemical. So as usual, take no notice of this Luis boy, he is still a bit green.
PS/ if you ever find a nieche, explore it to a 110%, cram the life-blood out of it and more and more, you will be laughing to the bank.
you havent understand what I have said, read again

We have seen about seven of these on the SS critique forum already and none will pass so perhaps you need to get some new fresh shots to put up.
Even the ones luissantos84 has said to use we have seen and told you no good so be careful and listen to the big dogs on the forum if you want to make it in.
I havent seen them at 100% etc etc but looking at his port I would pick those
p.s: I am always away of those topics once I think you guys are too harsh, it aint that hard to join SS or IS, the pictures dont need to be that INSANELY GOOD or PERFECT! (just no huge flaws)
If we dont get hard on them, once they do get accepted they could be in for a big disappointment when Attila the reviewer gets a hold of them.
May I ask who the "big dogs" are on the SS forums?
"gotta be" dave and rinder

That's strange because I have had pm's here off a few people saying I have good stuff that should do quite well (again, I know I have more to shoot and better myself). The trouble with here is too many people looking down from an ivory tower (it's been said by other people) who just write rude, blunt remarks that are not constructive or helpful.
I am not that guy, you should look at my comments if you have any doubt

That's your opinion.
it can be my opinion but its based on my own experience too, back in 2009 when I was uploading whatever I saw around my sales were crap, as I got continuous, then strobes and approached other subjects things went up, far from something great but thats the reality, without demand "your work" will never sell..

300 files on SS might make huge income to great files, sorry but you dont have people, isolations, niche stuff or high commercial value, you arent going to make 10$ with that, sorry but thats the real thing

Hmm... a new idea... How about if non-uploaded images would add upp to some kind of a "bonus"? Like if you upload nothing or very little on some week, you could upload a bit more than usual the next week?
dont know if they will do something like that guess not lol but this topic reminded some guys that uploaded over 500 files in a month and I am talking about indies, I wonder if IS have done anything, they havent..

must be because of reviewers, so they wont freak out, it would go from a queue with 40k (usual) to perhaps 10x that..
there is also the fact that we kind of select them better instead of just dumping them but I also believe we all know what to pick to IS..

dcdp time to invest in other agencies too, best of luck
True, but I am wary of the lock in on sites like DT and sites like FT and 123RF are behaving much like iStock (dropping royalties, poor contributor relations, general insanity, etc) from what I read on the forums so I don't know if I want to upload to them either. Then the smaller ones might only bring in a few $/month which will mean I may never even hit payout on those sites so it is debatable whether the effort to upload is worth it.
I understand but you arent going to recover your exclusive IS income with only SS and IS :/
As much as I hate to say it I have to agree
you need to get from 10$ to 25$, 15$ per day which is lets see at 25 cents (40 with OD/EL), you need 38 sales per day, not saying it isnt possible, you do have a very nice portfolio but joining other would help you out a bit..
