I always find it very strange for Alamy to do this. Any client (ie the publisher) can use an image in whatever way they wish and they are in the best position to judge if it is a risk using the image in the way they want. So there is no need for the photographer to be asked anything. All they are doing is passing the potential liability back to the photographer who is in no position to judge if the planned usage is appropriate or not. In my view, the answer should always be - the client can decide.

Steve

You are absolutely right Steve.

why shocked?= video is the next dead thing...or people believe to live all life earning a lot per video sales, with a couple thousand video?
everybody is shooting video, bigger producer from eastern europe are moving their production towards video...soon there will be the same saturation and the same price for video as was photo. milk till it last is my suggestion don't hope to earn the same, if not producing thousand and thousand of video per year....and the fact that a super company like hotel is struggling, they make a site where they give all collection for penny if i remember correctly, and move all new production to cheaper drone content should tell those who believe video will be immune from the downward trend. no it's not immune and price soon will collapse to a bunch of dollar per download.

Only funeral homes will stay forever.
As i said on another thread, if you want to survive in this business, you need high quality work, and to be prepared to adapt to the changes of the market.
BTW i love your positive attitude  ;D
''Only funeral homes will stay forever.''

Not sure about that with todays pricing.

Yes still selling last month, this month

Good to hear, what price range are you selling your clips in ?,  I was shocked to see that HotelFoxtrot appears to be selling all her clips at $59 now.

Last one sold is $139

Anyone still getting sales at Pond5?, even low low race to the bottom sales?.  This sadly looks like a videoblocks scenario playing out and I hope I am wrong but since that new guy came in and they made all the changes in 2019 it's not been good at all.

Less and less and less, October 23 here and my Pond5 sales are at $0 for the month, SS at $1805.  This tells me content is still selling, not as good as in past years obviously but it's still selling.

Unfortunate because Pond5 was the best and most decent agency to deal with until this year with they made a 360 degree turn and started to look like they where competing for how many dirty tricks they could slip past us starting with capping the search price results.

Don't these links show your personal best sellers? I thought the OP was looking for the best sellers on the agency in the month?

Steve
Yes Steve I am looking for my personal best sellers

Someone has sold any image in Picfair ?

I have been sending images over a year and I have not had a single sale. In other banks my downloads exceed the 5000... Someone passes it as to my ?

I sold two images long time ago when they start, dead now and I am not planning to pay for any ,,update paid gallery,, Sorry , my  images must made money for me first.

So far so good, not complaining, new images are selling also

466
So its about the same on SS and Adobe.  I have lots of City Timelapse shots and they all get rejected because of "INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY REFUSAL"

Is this normal?  Cips that practically show the whole city skyline get rejected.

No issues on Pond5..

Should I not mess with these sites for city shots?

Thanks

I think editorial will be ok with SS

friday is an holiday?

But it is summer in the US, so lots of people go on holiday (vacation). IIRC summers are usually slow. Then sales start to pick back up for the winter holidays right around Sept.
No, American people so not have 3 months vacation :(

Indeed. We are not talking about newsworthy stuff just non released people and property. Also trademarks. That sells a lot in SS...

Thanks everyone for chiming in on this important topic.  Love  and do know that we're always evaluating what can be done to make our service and our contributors more successful.

Out of curiosity, how many people here are talking about video vs photos?

Thanks,
Dennis

Alamy.com / Re: Longest wait to get paid?
« on: March 06, 2019, 15:24 »
So far im waiting on some payments from back in october to clear. I know alamy tends to run a little slower then the other sites with getting funds to clear, but is this normal? Thought normally its only 30-90 days, not almost half a year.

Hmm, never happens to me, always on time  :(

I prefer by default to be shown Activity, not Top sellers as i know which they are and they're not changing every day. So if i need several times per month or week i can simply filter Top sellers, but what i check every day is Activity.

I do too, but today, after updating my computer (whole long story, no one cares...)  ;) I now see this? I don't remember all these choices before.

I was happy to see top sellers lists files by total income. Activity just reinforces what I get in the emails, or I can look back at the week.

Same with me, great I am not alone :)
