I'm planning to create a (very)small website to let download live music photos for free (with a creative commons license).
What are "live music photos"?

Your graph doesn't list BigStockPhoto. Did you just forget to include it, or do you not contribute? If you don't contribute, any reason why not?

The camera: 1DMkII + 24-70/2.8L. RAW with minimum of adjustments barely touched in PS. ... Saved as JPEG in CS3 with quality=12 (max).
The 1DMkII has a resolution of 3504 x 2336 (8.2 MP). The image as posted has a resolution of 3000 x 2400 (7.2 MP). Why the vast difference in resolution? How did the height get to 2400 when the camera can only do 2336?

I agree that the G9 (and many other cameras) will do fine in good lighting and shooting at a low ISO. The problem is at higher ISOs. I'm obviously also spoiled by larger sensors

Just in case you don't know - I had posted the following similar thread a while back and had received quite a few replies:
http://www.microstockgroup.com/index.php?topic=1801.msg24483
which camera did you end up buying by the way?
I haven't purchased anything yet. I'm still looking. I looked at the G9 (along with a dozen or so other cameras), but after looking at sample photos I found that they all had too much noise. This normally wouldn't be a problem for most applications, but as you are aware the micros are noise-*.

They also have a minimum $100 payout level.

Imagine getting a rejection on a photo taken with this lens!

Please don't let that happen again. I was starting to get withdrawal symptoms...

I noticed Canon has registered in January on the UPC database for the 7D. On one site it is listed as a 7D, but on another it is listed as the EOS 5D Mark II 20 MP. Someone has also registered for a Canon 70D and a 320D.

I just received an email that stated the following:
"As of April 1, 2008, the Adobe Stock Photos royalty-free image service will be discontinued. We made this decision in order to focus our efforts in other areas, and we want to share this news with you and let you know how it affects you."

It looks that way.
And I heard it might be called the 3D.

Before you get too excited, you might want to look at a chart that has a little longer term, like this 2-year chart: If I believed in shorting stocks, this is one that I would short.

Here are some useful tips for using this lens (which I have deemed the "Super Duper BIGMA") properly: 1. DON'T attach camera to tripod and then lens to camera. 2. DON'T use this lens to take photos of aircraft at an airport. 3. DON'T take this lens to a government facility and utter the word "terrorist", "missile", or "jihad". 3. The shutter speed rule (1/focal length) DOES NOT work with this lens. 4. DON'T handhold this lens without medical support nearby. 5. DO remove dust with a vacuum cleaner 6. DON'T take this lens on a small boat. and finally 7. DO purchase a Humvee to transport this lens. Even better, is the newly released MRAP vehicle (seen here: http://www.defenseindustrydaily.com/images/LAND_MRAP_IMG_MPV_MaxxPro_Schema_lg.jpg).

There has been a lot of hoopla about this camera for the past few years. They originally announced it 2006, and then again in 2007, but it never came out from production.
I love the Foveon sensor that it uses. I think that it is the ultimate portrait sensor. I wish that Canon and Nikon would use this type of sensor on some of their cameras. The output is simply outstanding.
The big question is how much will the camera sell for? I think that it will be on the order of $1000 or more.
On the down side, this is definitely NOT a camera for stock photography. Although they advertise the camera as 14 MP, it is only 2652 x 1768 or 4.7 MP. The 14 MP comes from the fact that the sensor has 3 separate layers (Red, Green, and Blue) to capture light.

Is Yuri the first (non-exclusive, that is) to hit that mark? He certainly has shown what you can do with hard work, good models and excellent images.
Lisa, with about 14K licenses to go, you're within striking distance of that milestone too!
BD is 200,000 downloads - Lisa has about 114,000 to go.
huh? Lisa has 664,000 downloads! or am i misunderstanding things here.
I believe they were referring to another Lisa (lisafx).

First off, she is a very cute model.
Just my opinion, but I would rather see it with a white background (since the suit is already dark).
I also agree that it would probably be better if she was doesn't something "businessy", such as talking on a phone, holding a briefcase, reading documents, etc. Maybe also have her give you a serious business face.
Good luck.

The recommended price for a buyout with dreamstime is $350. There have been sales for much more than that, it depends on how much the buyer wants the image.
That isn't totally accurate. The default/suggested buyout price depends on how many sales the image has had. It starts out at $350 for images with no sales. For an image with 1 sale the suggested buyout price is $750. For an image with 2 sales the suggested buyout price is $1000. It then works its way up to $1000s and above for lots of sales. You also need to remember that you will only receive 50% of the sale price (or 60% if you are exclusive).

It looks like Wall Street likes the news of the Getty Sale.
Shares of Getty are up about 14% and are one of the only positives for today (considering the hammering that the market is taking).

I would think that a raise in royalty rates (as discussed in a few threads) is now a moot point.

Can you give us a summary of the website?
For example:
- Royalty rate - Do they offer subscriptions? - Min payout amount
When I did a search for "penguin", none of yours seemed to show up (which I thought was odd). I also noticed "PC" and "SA" checkboxes next to the search field. What do they stand for?
How does the rating system work? What is it used for?
And anything else you would like to share.
Thanks and may the Lord bless you.

Just a piece of advice.
I would suggest that you rename your term from "exclusive" to something else, since the term "exclusive" is universally used across the other stock sites to mean something completely different. On almost every other site, "exclusive" just means that the image (or artist) is exclusive with the site. The image can be sold over and over again.
FYI: DT uses "sell the rights". LO uses "buyout".
