I'm tempted to upload some images to unsplash an other free sites but leaving them on SS. Then track down people that have bought the image on SS and tell them hey do you know SS is charging you for free content.
I'm sure Pete Wright wouldn't be very happy about some turds licensing his free content. https://unsplash.com/photos/zeyMA01ZSvc

Hit them where it hurts and contact their buyers!
I just did on Twitter.

Hi decided to give Alamy a go so uploaded 420 pic no rejects, including some of my best sellers almost a year on and i have had only 2 sales if you compare that to s :-\s about 1200 downloads so whats the trick to selling on this site.
do you have to upload on a regular basis.
or is there only certain subjects that sell on this site
Breaking news / current events tend to do well on there. Generic microstock stuff is almost useless.

Since the decline and suicide of Shutterstock, I have found the steady rise in sales and earnings at AdobeStock. Anyone else noticed?
Too early to tell. Will see at the end of the month. I had a clip sale today for $12 when I would have normally earned around $18. So already feeling the pinch with the 33% reduction (I'm level 3 at 20% earnings only). I would have probably bought myself a burger with the extra $6 but now I'm stuck with just the fries

Nice to see you stopped uploading to some of the supercheaps. contributing to them is cutting yourself Hope some of your followers will follow.
90% of my energy these days is focused on producing book covers for Arcangel and 4K video (to soon upload exclusively to Pond5). Even the micro leftovers I might just send them over to Wirestock as can't be bothered to keyword. The rest is pretty much a waste of time imo. I'll do some breaking news but pretty quiet where I am currently, would be exciting/scary to be in the eye of the storm in the US at the moment! Looking forward to international travel soon, some great bargains out there.

Sorry for being made redundant, man! I hope that it's only a temporary setback.
Thanks, there will be other opportunities.

These days you just have to use brute force and keep re-submitting.
My record is 6 but on average it gets through after the 3rd time (assuming the image is OK technically).

Not much difference as Alamy licenses are all RM/RF hybrid anyway.
Do you get many sales and is it worth the effort? They were one or my lowest performers last year, but I didn't upload much.
I publish all my earnings on my blog - see link below. I don't differentiate between RF and RM sales. At a quick glance, they're quite similarly priced. I've seen RF sales at $100+ and RM sales at <$2 and everything in between.

I wonder what the image packs mean for contributors regarding payment - if the buyer has to pay up front, surely we have to be paid at time of download versus 2 - 6 months in arrears?
I looked in the Alamy forums and the discussion about these image packs didn't talk about that aspect of the new payment type (that I could find).
There is no mention of image packs within the contributor contract - https://www.alamy.com/terms/contributor.aspx Seems to be business as usual: "Cleared Funds Alamy operates a real-time reporting system, where sales are reported in the Contributor's account at the point at which a client purchases on credit card, or when an invoice is raised to a client purchasing on a finance account. Sales are posted to Contributors' accounts immediately and are listed as uncleared. They will not clear for at least 45 days from the sale date. Credit card sales will automatically be deemed cleared on day 45 as long as the transaction has not been returned as fraudulent, is not suspected of being fraudulent by Alamy or is in dispute. Sales on account will be deemed cleared on day 45 if we have received payment from the Customer. Otherwise the sale will be deemed cleared as soon thereafter as we have received payment and allocated it to the Contributor's account. Cleared Funds means amounts which are deemed cleared in accordance with the above process." Therefore, if a client pre-pays it should show up relatively quickly within the dashboard, sort of how it already works within microstock. In a way this is good news for contributors with less likely (or even permitted) to have refunds.

About 50% down all-for stills. Clips is OK with 3 so far this month (at $20 a piece) so on pace for a good month.

How are your earnings during epidemic? Comparable to last year?
Still a few days to go until the end of the month but down some 40% overall. iStock for March came in quite good but April should collapse.

They are a relatively small team and there's only so much they can handle. Since they do the keywording in-house and want to improve the quality of keywords (and they have considerably) they had to start rejecting more. Makes good business sense.

Photo credits are overrated imo...as long as we're paid (correctly) that's all that matters and even that can be a challenge sometimes!
I do not agree. There are rules and they should be respected.
I agree for commercial use, but not for editorial use. 90% of those who put photos on Instagram put a link or a tag to the author account.
Then there are always the smart ones who pretend to be authors of the photos ...
Yes, they should but they don't and it's annoying. We can escalate it to the agencies but they won't do anything or write to the licensees. Seems all like hot air when we can be focused on creating new work imo. Also happens to me quite a bit when I do Google Reverse searches. In 95% aprox of the time they do credit properly.

In those cases you can just upload directly to the agencies.
