Great month at Getty, Blend, Offset and SPL! but so and so in micro. Left Canstock and next will probably be FT! I havent got any more time to just keep uploading and uploading. Drains me of energy! Anyway wish you all a good December!
what is spl? offset is wort the trouble? i would like to upload to them in case my stocksy failed for high end rf. blend? is worth..they want a lot of multiracial images i see...
Offset is well worth the trouble but its got to be totally different from micro-style images. I shoot under my business name so I dont get mixed up with micro. SPL is BBC's library once a upon a time, Science photo agency, gives probably the highest royalty percentage of them all, sales over over a grand are quite common there! specializing in science, technology, industry!...
if you dont get accepted at stocksy I doubt its going to work at Offset or SPL they are equally quite tough but give it a whirl whats to lose?
well stoscksy is not to be good creator of content in general, they look for a special look an content. i'm pretty sure from what i see in offset i will not any problem to get in. i'm a provider of redux pictures for editorial, who is a bit tougher i think then all the agency u have talked.
Redux?? whats that? another agency?
is one of the most important documenter and journalistic agency in usa and world. strange you don't know. http://www.reduxpictures.com
Ok fair enough but I cant see whats that got to do with Offset?? sure they do a bit of photojournalism but its mainly a creative-content agency, interiors, lifestyles etc. I would have thought for journalism, Magnum, Black-star would be a better bet!...Magnum have already the best and most famous photo-journalists in the world going back to the days of Bresson, Kerzetz, Capa, Gilden, Eiser etc etc....try Magnum why not?
i do both journalism documentary travel and commercial food model interior. actually i m doing more stock photos recently. in the past i was more in documentary, and i'm sure i will be back to it soon. magnum is impossibile. very difficult. u need excellent body of work. [/quote
Well youre a member of Redux so why not give Magnum a try or Black-star. Nothing gained nothing lost! or how the saying goes.

Some guy over att SS points out that European photographers gets an effective Dl time of 5-6 hours then theyre cut-off giving room for all the Americans. I can personally easily see some sort of a pattern there!..OTOH Laurin living in Vegas also complain over falling sales??
One thing is sure I wouldnt want to try and build some sort of future with todays Micro agencies.

It surely answers the question. Now it is understandable, because to supply professionally images to Canstock,Bigstock,Deposit, bla bla bla would be quite weird to say the least if you take your job seriously. Now if you are befriended with the owner of one of the snick snack agencies that's another story.

It really makes me wonder how somebody that affirms to supply images at Blend Getty and Offset is also supplying to Canstock ?? Doesn't make any sense at all.
Many years back I joined Canstock mainly because a friend who used to be here introduced me to Duncan! ( the owner) and we became sort of friends!....did that answer your question?
CS was a great agency some years back but you know what its like they all have their hey-day and then suddenly its too many pics, too many suppliers too much of everything just look at SS and Adobe 100 million pics a piece almost I mean how can one seriously expect to do any business at all. I recon Getty is going the same way really, they complained badly on Micros and look at them today selling pics for peanuts! Stock photography is not an easy life anymore

Sometimes I wonder what the earnings are like being exclusive with Istock? many says its bad and many says its good? wonder whats it really like?
I believe that no matter where you sit, the grass is always greener on the other side.
I believe that no matter where you sit, make a plan and work it. If that plan is not working for "yourself" then shift gears and make another plan and work it.
I believe constantly juggling images from one site to the next and/or closing accounts and/or not submitting etc is only chasing rainbows and counter productive.
I believe constantly whining on this forum is a disservice.
I believe that if one has watched the polls on the right for years and years that Istock exclusive has always exceeded the Big 4 and Middle Tier.
Good analysis! well said. Yes I am seriously thinking of putting the entire port with IS-exclusive! I mean whats there to lose? none of the agencies are producing anything extraordinary and going with IS saves a lot of uploading to various places. Perhaps best to just have to concentrate on one single outlet in micro that is. with RM its only one agency anyway.

Well feel a bit guilty now I'm actually getting around 8-900 a month but with only Ft it used to be almost double that.
Same here.... 850- 1100. Did used to be $1500. Took a hit after DPC closed and reaching emerald.
Everyone kept shouting at the DPC , fair enough but it certainly brought in money!

Now that one side has been heard, I want to add, my RPD, my downloads, my income and everything positive has been up since Adobe bought FT. The attitude of the employees and the treatment of individual contributors has also improved. Like the whole industry competition is up and we're being buried by new content that directly competes with ours. This has been my best income year every on Adobe, even with that new competition.
I don't think I'm the only one, AdobeStock has passed iStock in the poll.
youre not on their payroll are you? count yourself very lucky. I personally know at least 20 guys there all been with Ft from around 2005-2006 and we all agree its gone right down since the merger. Although as in your case it works fine!

Stable! Yes you can say that again! at SS my daily take differs by just cents! too stable, suspiciously stable!

Paws! I've given up on luck because even if youre dead lucky somehow they will find a way of ruining it and if they cant find a way they will orchestrate a way!

wait till the "ghost-busters" arrive at your topic. They will destroy your first-hand experience of how an algorithm is capping your sales. "It is all in your head" they will say. Naive people, that don't know what you can do with technology. We know about the same algorithm sales capping crap from SS, which is less noticeable than this from Adobe. At SS you have less noticeable but constant sales, which are slowly increasing yearly. We never had over 100 sales in a month (with almost 13000 video files), but we are near this number. Maybe in 2018 we will finally reach it.
Even Pond5 has some kinda capping algorithm. We even experienced 14days no sales (we have 13000 files?!) and then full-throttle another 14days of sales. The worst is when a whole month has almost no sales and then another month is very good.
Hahaha! good analysis! true!

Hatman!! hi there!
I agree and remember the IS search well and truly. There are lots of new people in the game and they were not around when this happened and whan mentioning this they think its yet another conspiracy theory so you know?? with Adobe here something have gone very, very wrong. The old FT could produce some great days takings. Of course they had their ups and downs but all in all FT was Ok. Ever since this merger with Adobe things ahve slowly just gone downhill and I dont know why?? with a name like adobe business should be flourishing we shouls all get a good feedback. Its obvious they slow down or cut off servers at times but the delays in sales are just incredible. Some people in their own forums and with huge successfull portfolios mention it can pass 24 hours without the slightest movement. Not natural!
btw/ do you remember the IS search? they could never fix it and many of us had to go in and almost start all over with keywordings etc. not funny.

Yeah its like Scott got fired from SS after that giant beef in their forum and lo and behold what happens? FT picks him up and he shows them every trick in the book on how to make it misserable for contributors!! Blimey what a joke!
Kelly thompson? I thought he was working at the north-Pole!

Sounds reasonable, we don't know the maths, and can I ask, how much does this weekly or overall rank pay? Like views, I don't ever get money for those.
They are just download counts. So, a high weekly rank means you had a lot of downloads that week which probably translates to some money even if they are all subs. A higher overall rank means you have a high lifetime download count which will bump you up into higher percentage of the earnings.
I thought it was a rank? Doesn't that mean me vs everyone else? It's doesn't mean more downloads, or more money, it's just how many I get vs anyone else. I could be the same and they went down, or I could be the same and somebody else went up. It's only relative numbers. Did I understand that? You can guess I don't care about rank, I care about dollars. My dollars have been up since Adobe bought FT. I don't know what my rank was, I didn't take reports or copy.
Exactly!! spot on!

Forget it! its all mumbo jumbo!.....Everyone I personally know at Adobe and that includes a factory as well is doing really really bad after the merger with Adobe. prior to the move they were doing fine.
I havent got a clue of whats happened?? some people seem to be doing Ok but they are few.
Adobe and Dreamtime are agencies best to just leave alone, quit uploading and just visit them once a week or something.

All this is very well but the C200 is just about 1000 times easier to work with moving, panning following subjects. A dslr shooting video is a major hassle in comparison using various contraptions follow-focus etc etc. The only real advantage is a full frame sensor at a good price.
I'm sure the C200 is much better than a dSLR. But the capital expenditure is much much higher too.
Think of the thousands upon thousands of extra downloads needed to pay for the C200.
Do you really think customers will notice the difference in quality enough to boost your sales accordingly?
Probably not in quality but you will be able to shoot a hell of a lot more and much quicker. I work on commissiones a lot and what took me 3 days of footage using a dslr takes me less then one day with the C200. Time is money! For just stock-footage I suppose it doesnt matter all that but its still a huge difference.

Got the M1V and its really not much more then an updated Mlll. Great for stills! all these dslr's have got drawbacks for video and difficult to work with.Rather set your eyes on a second-hand full-frame video-recorder so much more and so much easier to work with.
