Dreamstime.com / Re: DT going to 12-month minimum commitment??
« on: February 18, 2008, 22:37 »
I the last 2 weeks I have had very many subs. 3 subs for 1 real sale. Before the count was the
reverse.

I agree that Shutterstock test is more difficult to pass. Noise Ninja helped me out eventually.

Alamy.com / Re: 48MB minimum size? a joke? haha
« on: February 18, 2008, 19:54 »
What the heck is this? At alamy 48mb is the minimum size? Why in the name of God? And How am I gonna achieve that? My raw file is 10MB, my jpeg 10MP is 4MB?! LOL!

It was also a headache for me. Finally I got Geniune Fractals  and did upsizing without further thinking. Keep upsizing within 48-52MB, bigger size may be rejected.

General Stock Discussion / Re: Strange thing?
« on: February 15, 2008, 09:36 »
I had a file rejected 10 days ago on one of the big micro sites. Today a strange thing happened,  it miraculously showed up as being approved :)
How sweet is that? Is there a little mouse that runs around in the middle of the night changing rejections?

Has anyone ever had this happen to them before?
very cool indeed!!

do you happen to remember at which site ?  :)

very nice shot! feel free to submit it everywhere. I would have removed the frame. this way
the attention will be solely on the tiger.

461
Do referrals  come as a result of visiting your microstock page or from a web page where you put sites banners ?

SnapVillage.com / first sale
« on: February 12, 2008, 13:51 »
I got my first sale, after canceling subs. Got $3 for an image priced $10.

463
I do food images and these tools  work for me in order of most often use: pen tool, magnetic lasso,
quick mask, polygonal lasso. And that is enough for what I shoot.

General Macrostock / Re: Anyone submitting @ Photoshelter?
« on: February 10, 2008, 21:56 »
I got accepted too. Then I tried to add keywords, titles, etc to the images accepted and got frustrated with the interface. Until I hear that they are at the level with FT or DT I am not to waist time with  that interface.

New Sites - General / Re: Beware of Red Bubble
« on: February 10, 2008, 18:25 »
My be the market already reached the mircosites saturation point?  Look, even StockXpert and SV are not producing ! FT somehow got accelerated and may be this is eating away the morsels that are still left.

iStockPhoto.com / Re: only 20% on Istock?
« on: February 10, 2008, 09:14 »
the biggest on FT sale for me was for 5 credits resulting in $1.59, on IS for L size image $2.50.
FT, not IS pays low.

StockXpert.com / Re: How are peeps doing at StockXpert?
« on: February 08, 2008, 20:43 »

Photoshop Discussion / Re: Image reflections and how to do them
« on: February 07, 2008, 13:50 »
thank you, miz! I wanted to know how to do the reflections, but PS books are so huge and dull

469
thanks, miz. I have tried it and it gives me more room for pen tool.

pen tool and quick mask, all other methods are for people with steel nerves.
with pen tool and small screen that I have nerves are also needed: enlarged to 200-300% image jumps out of submission when pen handle reaches the edge of the screen. but this is the limitation of my 15 inch monitor, with a larger monitor pen tool is probably the best.

iStockPhoto.com / Re: Well...I am about to give up on Istock...
« on: February 06, 2008, 18:25 »
I was just lucky to get into IS on the first try. Back then in Sept 2007 I had no idea how to process images on computer. I did not have PS yet. I think that helped me to get into IS, but was not helping me to get admitted to StockXpert or SS. Only after I got PS and Noise Ninja, I got admitted to StockXpert and SS. Looks like the best strategy to get into IS, to forget about artistic ambitions and just send them images as camera sees them. Btw, I like you image, I can't produce something like that myself since my PS skills are not great.

General Stock Discussion / Re: More Microstock talk
« on: February 06, 2008, 09:38 »
good luck, photojay. I would prefer to sick to this site. there are both very advanced photographers and amateurs,  like myself, on this site sharing experiences and I can't ask for more. i found that to grow as a phogorapher  i just need to search google, use this site and shoot more and more. No books anymore. and no need for courses, or workshops.
