For now there is nothing that can be done, other than waiting for some change from the administration.
Many of us are looking forward for a change OF the administration.
and many of us are very happy with our administration.
Correct. Many. As in more than a couple. The fact is that only a minority is happy with the administration.
And the fact is the majority didnt even vote for this administration in the first place.

Happened to me on Bigstock a little while before they changed their payout method to end-of-month. I got an email notifying me my email had been changed when I had not done that. So I signed in to my account (directly, not through the email) and changed my password right away. But it appeared the hacker had full access to my account thru the BS site directly because after I changed my p/word from a totally different physical location (different machine, ip, etc), then changed my mail back to the original, he/she changed it back to their russian one within a few minutes. I was in contact with BS for a while, and they finally fixed it, locked him out, etc. I've heard of A LOT of BS account compromises, so obviously there's a weakness in their security. Has not happened to me on any other micro in 12 years of being there (yet....)
I wonder if it happened when they created that bridge between SS and BS. Prior to that, I was a contributor to both with no issues. Shortly after the bridge, I left BS, and havent had an issue with SS. Ever. Im not sure of the timing of when the hacking issues began.

how this could change IS and SS as well, as they are US companies?Yes, I wondered this too, if Shutterstock was also closing accounts, or if it was just Adobe. I guess those in countries being sanctioned will only be able to work with istock (are they US or Canadian?) and a couple others. Which in itself is punishment.

I have noticed a few people here just love busting his balls. 🙄
Kinda makes you wonder why after a while, doesn't it?
Lots of big male egos here, thats why.
Laurin is your mentor which means you are ignorant to follow crap and lies. What if I'm not a male, you are more stupid. You get last word, feel the roar.
LOL. Sure sounds like a male ego.

Hey, georgep7, name calling and thread derailment. Maybe this is why agencies dont come here!
I don't often write here, but this time I wanted to do it to make it clear that there are many of us who read you silently and value your effort and dedication in sharing your experiences with others. Please do not let a couple of stupid (probably jealous of your success) discourage you.

Oh bummer, he left.
Red flags because you defend a forum bully and liar when we try to tell the truth to warn others. Why don't you take your own advices and ignore us?
you are dealing with the 3 biggest ignorant f*cks on this site, cathy, laurin and lagereek, the 3 amigos. better log off and continue the conversation elsewhere
You are pretty much showing your ignorance right there.

I wrote a OptED piece 14 Years ago that "Sooner Or later we will be getting 5 Or 10 Cents a DL."
are you seriously claiming to have predicted this decline by saying sooner or later the price will drop?? applause!
Did you predict anything? I bet not.

I dont wonder. Some people are just bullies. Especially when they can hide behind fake names. If you dont like him, fair enough. Do you (and everyone else that does it) have to call him out every freakin time he says something? He has never been anything but kind to me. He has a lot of experience, for many years. Theres an ignore button, if he bugs you that much. Just an idea.

Looks like you were wrong about that. People are getting much less.
Not really. He was in the ballpark.
Throw enough things at the wall and something is bound to stick. He said a lot of things. 14 years ago it was 25 cents a download in a lot of places. Now (since this thread is about istock) people are posting that they make less than a cent at times, or pennies. Maybe the right country, but not the right ballpark in my opinion.
Sounds like no matter what he says, you will have a problem with it. I have noticed a few people here just love busting his balls. 🙄

Lol, why would microsoft acquire adobe?
It would be like Kentucky Fried Chicken deciding they wanted to purchase GM, and start making cars.
Makes no sense.
Why? Because Bill Gates has a taste for easy money. He owned Corbis for many years then sold it to VCG for a hefty profit. Guess he wants back into the game. Where else can you have a dedicated easily fooled group of people to supply you with your product and give them peanuts for their efforts? It's pretty much a cash cow for any entity/person that owns a modern day stock photo agency.
Nah, I think Gates is into his depopulation/vaccine scam now. Theres BIG money in pharmaceuticals!

Shutterstock now has that rule, too? I know Dreamstime has something like that, didnt know SS did. But then I havent been keeping up. In any case, it wont be an issue. Not many sales there now anyway.
Not that I know of? But here's the insider scoop.

If you are enjoying doing it yourself, I think there shouldn't be a problem, until the final "please close my account" part, which they need to do.
So far, I havent run into any issues deleting. I keep track of how many I delete, and the next morning, the proper number shows. I have turned off sales. I had just gotten a payout, then got sales of around $6.00, which I will leave to them. But no more. And yes, I am enjoying deleting. Lets just hope they are actually being deleted. 😡

EyeEm's response to me this morning is that the incorrect credit for the photos is a mistake and should be "fixed next week".
Regarding duplication, "...this is your responsibility to make sure that you do not upload the duplicate images, since we do not check if that image is already on the Partner platform before distributing it."!!
EyeEm clearly isn't thinking about this. As I don't know who they will upload to, how can I possibly do that? And when I uploaded the image to EyeEm, they weren't partnering with Alamy.
In addition, there are images that are not on all sites - so when they upload to Getty, that's fine (as I have nothing there) but not on Alamy.
From a technical point of view, Alamy is the one who can weed out duplicates on its platform - using their find similars technology - but that needs to be part of the partner agreement EyeEm makes with them.
Having duplicates doesnt affect their bottom line ... it doubles their chances of selling an image. Thats why they dont want to be bothered checking for duplicates, and instead, pass the buck back to you. You dont like it? You fix it! All of your points are valid. Contributors have no clue where they are sending stuff. They want to be as covert about that, as they do about earnings. 😡

I often wonder who the new people are coming to iStock and how they decide to become exclusive given it is a much more murky decision than it was years ago.
Clearly they dont read or do any research, or they have a big ego and think their work is the bomb. Almost every week you see someone here talking about going exclusive...after all the posts about what a bad idea it is!
