Checking sales daily is really bad time management, time that could be spent creating new images.

I don't agree at all, that. That to me is like saying time spent chatting to friends or watching tv is bad time management as it could be spent creating new images.

I'm talking business, not what you do in your spare time. Yes, chatting with friends and watching TV during work hours would also be terrible time-management.

So is posting on a forum, discussing irrelevant things.

My comments are relevant to the topic; yours is not.

seriously? I believe it is a great question, arent you pro in time-management?

Is $30 about an average month for you there Luis?

Nov 28$
Dec 32$
Jan 28$

Thank you for sharing that.  To be totally honest, that's more money than I would have expected from them for most everyone.

28$ from 70 sales

I'm very curious as to what qualifies a site in the majority opinion as showing potential in a real and tangible Dollar amount.

$100 a month?  $500?  $1,000?

$5?

I would be SHOCKED if anyone was making real money at Deposit Photos.

I am sure there are many doing some "nice" money, if I do 30$ I am sure plenty are doing 10x that

I suppose we should think about the other agencies where we've had our prices cut and then seen the increased sales volume more than make up for it.  Um, are there any?

 ;D

you can always link to your DT portfolio no?

just found a very curious one, if you search a number at PD it will give you many pics actually, per example 5, they look into title not only keywords :D

I agree with you, you are an intelligent businessman thats for sure but my point is that getting 1.56$ from a 1.4MP picture doesnt look any bad, actually I would love to sell this way many times a day

I don't know about the intelligent part. I think it's mostly trial and error.  ;D I do agree though. Even with the lower priced small files, it's still better royalties than a lot of sites.

Off topic:

Hey Leaf, can we get these two threads merged?

was thinking of the same, started this one 4 minutes earlier but I am ok with anything you decide leaf

Thus it's an 'error', not technically a 'rejection'.

right, ERRORS - 1, FAILED - 0

Holy crap Elena, 6/70 that's not even 10%!  I would suspect these same files coming from you would be well over 90% or maybe close to 100% at the other agencies.

Scratching my head....

Me too... and yes those files are accepted everywhere else and selling well. The irony is what DT picks out of a batch to accept are often images with least sales potential.

I will never understand it.. as a low earner I am for a few time picking the best of that batch and submit that one first or I will have the less potential online.. just great :D

My download numbers today certainly don't support the notion of any improvement in placement of indie images.  Sales dismal as ever, after having improved slightly last week and early this week.  Now back in the gutter.

I agree with Borg.  Istock isn't worth bothering with for indies anymore.

Seriously +1.  Here it is Friday, and I haven't even made it to $1 earned for the week.  WTH?  I used to earn a payout a week.  >:( >:( >:(  Yeh, sure...I've been deactivating images, but not so many that I'd go from $100 per week to less than a freakin' dollar.  I'm pi$$ed.

thats incredible.. gotta be something regarding upload too not only best match (buyers bailing also).. never had a week with over 100$ (I am with 70$ this January and 49 sales, my BME is at around 200$ with PP sales).. I have never stopped uploading.. but as a very new corner I still see grow at IS.. the future looking at yourself and other doesnt look promising..

I have not yet received my correct percentage fix for Jan 1-3.  Nope.

sorry but how can you see that? your firefox app? thanks

zazzle is always a nice place making around 30$ per month, this month is over the roof, one of my products got placed as featured (old product) and I have sold it 17 times (this month) and almost 95$, something is going on out there :D (perhaps I shouldnt have posted this one)

4718
Now, if you where talking about a creative, original, concept photo, that would be a different story...but a landmark?

exactly! you have a good point, its a * landmark!

The days of upload your hard-drive and get rich are over!

unless it is all keyworded and edited :D

The bridge example is iffy. Although the lighting is a bit different and there are some clouds, the cropping seems to be identical, though I haven't exactly counted the number of arches in the background. Seems weird that the left hand crop and the sizing are the same - just count the cables and note the position of the little dot things on the cables.

sure, her/his version is wider and also almost twice the size but like Karimala dont like that those 20 sales arent into mine.. nothing I can do :)

4721
Is the site down ?

unable to connect today  :-\

no, never all day

4722
Good example but not the same, you did not land in court, did you?

her file is OLDER

4723
its only the same place, cannot see how it can have copyright unless its some big bad ass photographer, have one too

4724
joined a few days after their annoucement, have been contacting with them by email, asking for ftp, very nice communication, I never wondered much about sales but they are certainly doing something, what? actually I dont know but I am enjoying it.. the easy upload (ftp and done), they have after 2 months close to 50k files (not bad I guess)

I have joined in December 7th 2011, have already 11 sales and 69$ (on my paypal), I am not going to say which agencies they have already got over but many, they are also paying 75%, really hope this trend continue
