Well, I'm not sure that 'everybody' is fine with your buddy rejecting everything that doesn't 'catch his eye,' but glad you are doing well there.

Thanks for clarify how this site works. I will keep my portfolio away from this site by the moment

« on: May 20, 2008, 10:20 »
I was looking for a macro lens some months ago and didnt know if buying canon 100 f2.8 or tamron 90 f2.8 (very sharp, lighter and cheaper).

Finaly I went for the Canon. I only use it in the studio but I love it

Any opinion of this monitor?

My sales aren't slow - I wish they were.  They are dead!  Not a sale in days. I don't even want to check anymore it is so disheartening.

Same here

I havent buy the computer yet as I have to buy the furniture of my new home first  :D

Yes, a calibrator is in my wish list too and I know it is important but... escuse my ignorance... (I have never calibrate my monitor...)

Can I ask you what do you get by calibrating the monitor and why is it so important?

Will you reccomend any calibrator that will have a good relation price-quality?

« on: May 16, 2008, 12:13 »
It strikes me that if you don't know anything about audio production, then perhaps you shouldn't be looking to make money off of it?

If you think it's something that you would enjoy then why not take classes in it or take it up as a hobby for a while before thinking about submitting?

I can't wait to get into iStockAudio, my qualifications are in Music Technology, Physics and Maths, so this is right up my street!

Shame I won't be around for a good few months from September!

I will not join istock audio but...

isnt it free and open for everyone?
It would be an application and reviewers so those who arent good wont make money

I can't get anything to work on the site this morning - my daily routine to log on and delete one image.

First I got a long XML error when I tried to log on. I reloaded the main page and tried again, and it worked.

Then I tried to go to the "Sell" section to get to my portfolio and got an error that the page was unavailable or access was denied.

I guess that's one way to stop people from deleting their one a day :)

Is the site misbheaving for anyone else? I use Firefox Mac, but tried IE7 on XP and couldn't even get to the front page to log in (Page not found/access denied)

Same for me.

I asked to delete my account (on monday I think) and I though it was done...

But finally I have login and account is not deleted

Wouldnt it better to take a photo of something where the sharpness could be view better?
That image seems an abstract... thing

This has been a film with a bad end.

Suspense built like in a Hitchcock movie, but a Mickey-mouse ending.

I used to sell quite well on fotolia but now I have days without sales...

496
I have seen that some members have image collections of their portfolios.

An example
http://www.istockphoto.com/file_closeup.php?id=5122884

Do you know how to do this?

« on: May 11, 2008, 13:35 »
Magnum,
I would use the "comments for reviewers" box for anything you have to say about your images for example:
"this image was previosly rejected for keywording but now it is fixed only with relevant keywords".
Also, try not to insult them  ;D

When you get accepted, take benefit of the initial sales and try to upload regulary to mantain sales high

Good luck

I d voted for BigStock, sv and CanStockPhoto... but as I only have 1 choice I voted for BigStock because it is supposed to be one of the big 5 or 6 and it is in my 10th place if we look at the last 2 months.

Dont know why...

i-spi panel monitors are supposed to be good for photo as they offer best colors than tn panel monitors and more angle of vision I think.
The problem is there arent a lot to choose and they are quite expensive...
