Rinder.. We are being abused.
...
Thats because there are 800 million photographers out there. In Indian ad China,
...
So Rinder, this is globalisation, get used to work for a bowl of rice every day.
its all good.

JPS

I don't see lot of Indian or Chinese contributors who participate on this forum.... ::) Do you?
I can't find any more link of Fotolia contributor chart that you can see how many contributors are there, in India and China...
There was incredibly small number of contributors from that part of world...

There might be even bigger problem with classic RF license, not just with EL...
I heard that you don't need EL for image use on postcards...

So, if buyer need an image for postcards for example, standard RF license allow him reproduction of the same image for 250.000 copies, only for subscription price of cca 0.30$
Maybe 250.000 is not too big number for New York Paris or London postcards, but for some little town somewhere in Croatia is lifetime edition... I have seen lot of my pics on postcards in the nearest tobacco shop...
I am desperate!  :P

So, tell me where are we here?

December was strong, January isn't as good but it's not over yet.  I'm sure the prices are putting some buyers off.  I used to make more when they paid a flat 50% commission and had lower prices for the images that have sold a lot of times.
Sharpshot, me and you always have same pattern...  ;)

Yep! December was stronger than usual, for Decembers...
But, my prediction so far for January is -25% if we compare with December, usual was quite opposite...

Alamy.com / Re: Lots of refunds on Alamy
« on: January 19, 2012, 18:28 »
So this confirms leaf's post...

From actual topic on Alamy forum:
Just had a reply from customer services - the image involved sold last July but the wrong amount was charged ($6.23 instead of $4.49). So the activity the other day was to refund the $6.23 and re-bill at $4.49. So I haven't actually lost any money - I shouldn't have had that whole $1.74 in the first place!

General Stock Discussion / Re: Etsy, Zazzle, Cafe Press
« on: January 17, 2012, 16:55 »
I've also been with Zazzle for about a year (see my Vintagerie Ephemera link in my signature).  Spent a solid month creating 2200+ products and was earning a payout every month until they doubled the payout level last month.  Due to life's ups and downs, I haven't been able to work on it since that time, but I'm nevertheless encouraged that once I can return, I'll be able to reach the new payout level in no time.

What is now payout level?

My best selling photo, that reached 100 downloads in a month once, has only 1 download so far in January.  There's no point wasting time deactivating, istock have done it for me :)

Exactly! Me to!!

Shutterstock.com / Re: Tax thing for non-US contributors
« on: January 11, 2012, 18:25 »

You lost me. We all sell photos and graphics, what difference does it make if I sell a picture from the USA in Australia or if someone from Romania sells a photo in the US. This is a world market.

Of course! Same question I was wondering myself...
But unfortunately, there is always someone who would make such theories...
Sorry for off topic!

Also you are only taxed on images sold in the US which is a surprisingly small percentage of all sales.

It is also not in favor with theory that photographers from Europe, especially Eastern "take bread" from American contributors on their terrain...
There was a lot of topics about that "problem" on this forum...

490
I was doing same this for 11 months on Smugmug.. Sold none, not a single...

491
Now I see that Shutterstock may be stealing customers from Istockphoto, and I'm thinking why would this be a good thing?

Stealing!????  ??? ::)

iStockPhoto.com / Re: November Stats Are Up-to-Date
« on: December 04, 2011, 04:00 »
"My uploads" is now showing images up to Nov. 25th, plus one sale from today Dec. 3.  Sales between Nov. 26 - Dec. 2 are missing.

Moving on to the stats page on "user view," my earnings and downloads are showing through Dec. 2.

Same here!

Still no money from that period!

497
My November was worse cca 15% than October... So these green arrows mean to me nothin'... ;)

Once, I had word "Milosevic" in Captcha on SS... What a weird world!

I used SmugMug for a couple of years and earned 8 cents.  Woohoo.  It definitely required marketing, which I didn't have time to do.

I spent several hundreds $ on Google adwords  and many many promotions on social networks, also many links on various websites and nothing, for almost one year...
Probably I will close my account soon...
